The Georgia Bulldogs (16-10, 6-7 SEC) will try to slow down one of the NCAA’s top scoring teams when they head to face the No. 1 Alabama Crimson Tide (22-4, 12-1 SEC) on Saturday. Georgia narrowly defeated the LSU Tigers 65-63 at Stegeman Coliseum on Tuesday.
Braelen Bridges was the key player with 13 points. The Bulldogs are 10th in the Southeastern Conference. Alabama lost on Wednesday at Thompson-Boling Arena, falling to the Tennessee Volunteers 68-59.
Brandon Miller led the team in scoring in defeat with 15 points. With 14 points, Jaden Bradley also produced a strong performance. The Crimson Tide remain first in the Southeastern Conference.
The teams are meeting for the only time this season. Georgia got the win in the only game between the teams last season 82-76 at Stegeman Coliseum in January 2022.
Aaron Cook led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Bridges added 13 points. Jaden Shackelford had 20 points in the losing effort. The Bulldogs have been led this season by Terry Roberts and Kario Oquendo, who are averaging 12.7 and 11.3 points per game, respectively.
Roberts also has dished 3.7 assists per game. Meanwhile, Matthew-Alexander Moncrieffe is grabbing 4.7 rebounds per game. Miller has supplied much of the Crimson Tide’s offense, averaging 18.7 points per game. Miller also has averaged 8.2 rebounds per game. Bradley has recorded 3.4 assists per game.
The Crimson Tide are one of the top scoring offenses in the NCAA, ranking ninth with 82.5 points per game. Georgia is 4-6 in the last 10 games with an average margin of -8.0 (68.1-76.1).
For the season, the Bulldogs are averaging 69.9 points per game, compared to 68.8 for opponents. Alabama has gone 8-2 over the last 10, scoring 81.7 points per game on average while allowing 67.1 (+14.6 margin).
