Georgia Southern has yet to pick up a victory through their first nine games of the regular season and it seems unlikely they will get their first win going against their toughest test of the year here on Tuesday. It has been an abysmal start to the regular season for the Eagles of Georgia Southern, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get much better throughout this game against Tennessee here on Tuesday night on the road in Knoxville. They have been inconsistent on both ends of the floor, and they have been unable to find a true superstar to lead them throughout the early part of the season. There is no telling how long this losing streak will go on with the way they have been throughout the early part of the year, as it could easily stretch into conference play, and potentially further. They have been very uncompetitive throughout their first nine games of the season, and they will need to play a perfect game if they want to grab a victory on the road in this one. 

Tennessee is off to a quality start to the regular season as they come into this game ranked just inside the top of the country and they will look to further establish themselves as a contender with another victory. They come into this game looking to protect their home court against one of the worst teams. They will play all season as they look to add another victory onto their total as they gear up and get ready for conference play at the end of the month. Tennessee comes into this game with six victories through their first nine games of the regular season and they will be looking for their seventh victory of the year here in this one. They should have no problem grabbing a victory in this game on Tuesday night in Knoxville against Georgia Southern and that is exactly what I expect as I look for Tennessee to not only pick up the win, but cover the spread in the process.

Hofstra @ #21 Duke – 7PM ET

Hofstra is off to a quality start to the regular season as they have picked up six victories through their first nine games of the year. They have an identical record as Tennessee and their opponent Duke in this one, but they are not ranked in the top 25 coming into this game on Tuesday night on the road in Durham. A victory in this game would certainly open more eyes to their program heading into the back half of December as they look to pull off an upset on the road in one of the toughest venues in college basketball. They will be looking to regroup after having their winning streak, broken by St. Louis in their previous game as they look to get right back into the win column with another quality performance here on Tuesday night on the road against Duke. They have been solid on the offensive end of the floor as they are averaging around 81 points per game through their first nine games of the season and they will look to maintain that average in this one. 

Duke comes into this game with an identical record of six wins, and three losses through their first nine games of the regular season. They come into this game ranked 21st in the country, and they will look to move back up into the rankings when they quality performance in this game on Tuesday night at home as they look to string together some solid victories throughout the remainder of their nonconference schedule. After losing to Georgia Tech in their conference opener, they bounced back with a blowout victory over Charlotte. They will look for a second consecutive victory here in this one on Tuesday night at home against Hofstra as well. That is exactly what I expect out of Duke here in this one, as I look for them to pick up the win and cover the spread at home against Hofstra here on Tuesday night.
