We are nine weeks into the college football season, so it is more than adequate timing to look at college football’s most privileged individual award, the Heisman Trophy.
Trevor Lawrence
Clemson Tigers, quarterback
Odds to win the Heisman Trophy: -132
The award is Lawrence’s to lose as he is the main frontrunner to claim the Heisman Trophy going at -132 odds. Lawrence is already having an outstanding season which has seen the quarterback throw 1,833 yards with 135 passes being completed from 191 attempts as he has a completion percentage of 70.7 % (his best in the last two years).
He is also on track to break his passing touchdown as he has already thrown 17 touchdown passes so far and going at yards per pass attempt of 9.6, he has also achieved his highest passer rating since he started with the Tigers as he has a rating of 178.6.
Trevor Lawrence of Clemson by far way above all of the others I mean wave far above for a Heisman trophy no comparison

Mac Jones
Alabama Crimson Tide, quarterback
Odds to win Heisman Trophy: +290
While it may Lawrence’s award, don’t take your eyes off the Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Mac Jones. Jones has thrown more passing yards than Lawrence throughout the season and is ranked fourth in passing yards with 1, 905. Jones has also completed more passes this year than in 2018 and 2019 as he already has 115 passing completions from 146 attempts this season.
Jones is also going at a 78.8 completion percentage (which is more than Lawrence) and has a higher yards per pass attempt than the Heisman trophy leader going at an average of 13.0, while he has 12 touchdown passes to his name and a passer rating of 212.8.
All things aside, Mac Jones is playing great football. He is killing it this year and don’t be surprised if he wins the Heisman trophy. 🤷🏽♂️

Justin Fields
Ohio State Buckeyes, quarterback
Odds to win Heisman Trophy: +404
Justin Fields is the outsider to collect the Heisman Trophy and it may also be due to the fact that he made his long-awaited Buckeyes debut against Nebraska last Sunday. Despite only playing one game Fields is highly touted so it is no wonder that he is the third favorite to win the award.
He showed plenty in his opening game as he threw 20 completed passes from 21 attempts, going at a completion rate of 95.2 % while also amassing 276 passing yards including throwing two touchdown passes. To round off his spectacular debut he also generated a passer rating of 237.1.
