A pair of teams trending in different directions go head-to-head at Climate Pledge Arena on Sunday as the New York Islanders (21-14-2) will be out to prolong their winning streak when they are on the road to take on the stumbling Seattle Kraken (18-12-4).New York is kicking off a four-game road trip coming off a 2-1 win over the Blue Jackets on Thursday, their third win in a row.
The Islanders took advantage of their power play opportunities, scoring once on three shots while holding Columbus without a power play goal. Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Mathew Barzal both scored once for the Islanders.
Pageau added an assist to lead the team in scoring. Ilya Sorokin saved an impressive 20 of 21 shots (.952%) in the win. Seattle lost for the third game in a row, falling 7-2 to the Oilers on Friday.
Daniel Sprong and Brandon Tanev each scored once for the Kraken. Philipp Grubauer started in the loss and saved only two of five shots (.400%).

The teams split their two meetings last season, the last of which was a 5-2 victory for the Islanders in February. Zach Parise led New York with three points (2G 1A). Yanni Gourde and Riley Sheahan were on the scoresheet for Seattle. Sorokin got the win, saving 23 of 25 shots (.920%).

Burakovsky has 10 goals and 18 assists in 34 games, while Eberle has eight goals and 19 assists in 34 games. Martin Jones (14-5-3) has the best goals against average for Seattle at 2.99. He has a save percentage of .888%.
