The New York Islanders (34-26-8) and their stifling penalty killing defense travel to take on the Los Angeles Kings (38-20-9), one of the NHL’s top power play offenses, at Crypto.com Arena on Tuesday. New York is coming off a 5-1 loss against the Capitals on Saturday, ending a three-game unbeaten streak.
The Islanders committed four penalties in the game, though they held Washington without a power play goal. Pierre Engvall was the only player to find the net in regulation for the Islanders. Semyon Varlamov only had 22 saves on 27 shots against (.814%) in the loss.
Los Angeles fell 2-1 (SO) to the Predators on Saturday. Mikey Anderson netted the lone goal in regulation for the Kings. Pheonix Copley had a great performance with 29 saves (.966%) in the loss.
