Toronto Maple Leafs @ Washington Capitals – 6PM ET

It has been a decent start of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs and they will be looking to keep them on minimum rolling here on Tuesday night on the road in the nation’s capital. Toronto has plenty of expectations this season, and they will be looking to grab a crucial victory early on in the year as they look to live up to those expectations throughout the beginning part of the regular season. Auston Matthews had a hot start of the year, and he will be looking to keep putting the puck in the back of the net against the Washington Capitals here on Tuesday night on the road, as he has scored six times in the Maple Leafs first five games of the season. They will be looking to grab their fourth victory of the season here on Tuesday night. 

The Washington Capitals will be looking for a crucial conference victory here on Tuesday night at home when they welcome in the Toronto Maple Leafs. It hasn’t been an ideal start of the season for Washington, as they have only managed to pick up a single victory in their first four games of the season. Luckily for them they were able to pick up one of those losses and overtime which earned them a much-needed point and their point total currently sits at three through their first four games of the year. They will need to get things turned around rather quickly and grabbing a huge victory at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs would certainly help swing the momentum back into their favor heading in this week. Unfortunately for the Washington Capitals, I don’t see that happening as I have the Toronto Maple Leafs picking up the victory here on Tuesday night.

Carolina Hurricanes @ Tampa Bay Lightning – 7PM ET

The Carolina Hurricanes will be looking for a crucial victory in this massive Eastern Conference matchup early on in the year here on Tuesday night against the Tampa Bay Lightning. It has been a middle of the road start to the season for Carolina through their first six games of the season as they have split it right down the middle with three victories, and three losses in regulation. They will be looking to pick up a much needed fourth victory here on Tuesday night as they look to get back to a winning record against Tampa Bay who will likely be one of their main competitors in the conference this season. Carolina will be looking to snap a two game losing streak on the road with a victory in this game as well.

The Tampa Bay Lightning are off to a less than impressive start this season, but they will be looking to hand Carolina their third consecutive defeat on the road and their fourth loss out of five road games to open up the season. Through their first six games of the season, Tampa Bay has managed to pick up a total of six points as they have picked up a pair of victories as well as a pair of losses and overtime. Overall on the year they have dropped four out of their first six games of the season and that is something that will have to change rather quickly if they want to remain competitive throughout the early part of the year. However, I think they wind up on top of this one against Carolina as I look for the Hurricanes’ struggles on the road to continue in their final road game of this road trip here on Tuesday night. 

Dallas Stars @ Pittsburgh Penguins – 7:30PM ET

The Dallas Stars come into this one looking to grab a huge victory on the road in Pittsburgh here on Tuesday evening. It has been a pretty solid start of the season for Dallas as they have picked up three victories and their first four games of the year and they have earned seven out of a maximum eight points to open up the season as well. Coming into their fifth game of the season they have yet to lose a game in regulation, and they will be looking to extend that streak with a much-needed victory here on the road in Pittsburgh. They will be looking to extend their two game-winning streak in the process as they look to pick up their second consecutive victory over a team from the state of Pennsylvania. As Dallas is coming off of a shootout victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in their previous game.

The Pittsburgh Penguins will be looking to defend whole ice here on Tuesday night when they host the Dallas Stars and they will be looking to grab a crucial victory for themselves early on in the year. It has been a less than impressive start to the season for the Pittsburgh Penguins as they have dropped three out of their first five games on the year, and now they will be looking to get their record back to even with their third victory of the season here on Tuesday night over Dallas. They will also be looking to snap their two game losing streak with a victory here on Tuesday as they have been struggling over the past week on both sides of the ice. Unfortunately, for Pittsburgh, I don’t see that happening as I look for Dallas to come into their arena and pick up the victory here on Tuesday.

San Jose Sharks @ Florida Panthers – 7:45PM ET

The San Jose Sharks have been one of the worst teams in the league for sometime now, and they are off to an absolutely awful start so far this season. They have yet to pick up a victory coming into this game on Tuesday night on the road in Florida against the Panthers and they will be looking to break through the glass ceiling and grab their first one of the season here in this one. Four of their five consecutive losses have come in regulation with them only managing to pick up a single point by forcing an overtime loss during one of their early games this season. Will have to turn things around rather quickly otherwise they will risk falling out of the playoff race by the time the All-Star break comes around in just a few short months.

The Florida Panthers will be looking to further add to the misery of the San Jose Sharks with a victory at home here on Tuesday night. Florida is one of the toughest places to play in the entire league and they will be looking to defend home ice in this game as well as pick up another early season victory and improve upon their  average start to the year. They have only managed to pick up a pair of victories in their first five games of the season, and they will be looking to get their record back to even with a victory here on Tuesday night against the San Jose Sharks. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Florida Panthers to pick up their third victory of the season here on Tuesday at home against the worst team in the league.

Colorado Avalanche @ New York Islanders – 8PM ET

The Colorado Avalanche will be looking to continue their hot start to the season with a victory on the road against the New York Islanders here on Tuesday night. Colorado comes into this game undefeated and they will be looking to extend their undefeated streak for another game with a quality road victory against an out of conference opponent. They have picked up their first five victories of the season, and they have done it in impressive fashion, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here in this one on Tuesday night against the Islanders. They have already looked solid on the road as they had a three game road trip to open up their season and they succeeded in all three games, and they will be looking to do the same here in this one.

The New York Islanders will be looking to give the Colorado Avalanche their first loss of the season here on Tuesday night at home. It has been a somewhat decent start to the year for New York as they have picked up two victories in their first four games of the season and picked up a total of five points out of a maximum of eight. They will be looking to get their third victory of the season here at home on Tuesday night against one of the best teams in the league as it will be a solid early season test for a team that is expected to be a contender in the Eastern Conference this season. Unfortunately for the New York Islanders, I don’t see them passing that test as I look for the Colorado Avalanche to grab the victory here on Tuesday night on the road.
