Buffalo Sabres @ Carolina Hurricanes – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a pretty average start of the season for the Buffalo Sabres and they will be looking to grab a quality victory here on Tuesday night on the road in Carolina. Through their first 12 games of the season, Buffalo finds themselves dead even as they’ve picked up six victories, and six losses in regulation. They will be looking to grab their seventh victory of the season here on Tuesday night on the road as they look to get the momentum rolling in this young season and get themselves out of the proverbial basement they’ve been in for the last several seasons as well. Buffalo will need to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice if they want to get a victory here on Tuesday as they are giving up around three goals per game on the young season.

Carolina comes into this game looking to pick up a solid victory at home against Buffalo here on Tuesday night. They are off to somewhat of a decent start this season as they have picked up seven victories through their first 12 games of the year, and they will be looking for their eighth victory of the season here at home against Buffalo. Carolina is a very tough team to beat in general but they take it to another level when they play in front of their home fans and they will be looking to defend home ice here in this one as they look to keep the momentum rolling on this young season. Carolina comes into this game on a one game winning streak after beating the New York Islanders in overtime and I look for them to pick up their second consecutive victory here on Tuesday night at home against the Sabres.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Carolina Hurricanes (-210)

Minnesota Wild @ New York Islanders – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

Minnesota comes into this game, looking to get a solid victory away from home on Long Island here on Tuesday night against the New York Islanders. It would be a much needed momentum boosting victory for Minnesota as they are off to a rough start throughout the early part of this season. They coming into this game having lost seven out of their first 11 games on the year with two of those losses coming in overtime and they will be looking to grab their fifth victory of the season here on Tuesday night to get the ball rolling in the right direction. Minnesota was able to pick up a victory over the New York Rangers in their previous game but they will have to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up an average of four goals a game, and that will not lead to many wins for them this season.

The New York Islanders come into this game looking to grab a victory at home over Minnesota, and bounce back from their loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in their previous contest. It has been a below average start to the season for the New York Islanders and they will be looking to get things on track with a victory here on Tuesday night, as they come into this game dead even through their first ten games of the season. Luckily, they have been able to force a few of their losses into overtime to earn some much-needed points, but they will be looking for their sixth victory of the season here at home on Tuesday night for a hard fought two points against Minnesota. They have had trouble producing goals on the offensive end of the ice, and this game could be perfect for them as Minnesota is struggling defensively, and New York could take advantage of that and their offense could break out a bit in this game. That is why I have them grabbing the win at home over Minnesota.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NY Islanders (-130)

Detroit Red Wings @ New York Rangers – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Red Wings come into this game looking to pick up a solid victory on the road against the New York Rangers as they look for a huge momentum boost early on in the season. Detroit comes into this game with seven victories to their name, and they will be looking for their eighth victory of the season as they look to continue their solid start to the year. This Detroit team has an opportunity to be very successful this season as long as they remain healthy and consistent and they can clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice and lower their three goals allowed per game average. This will be the first game of their short road trip after coming off of a homestand where they defeated the Boston Bruins and their previous contest, and they will be looking for their second victory of the season here on Tuesday night.

The New York Rangers also find themselves off to a stellar start this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here at home on Tuesday against Detroit. New York comes into this game as winners of eight out of their first 11 games on the season and they will be looking to pick up their ninth victory of the year here at home on Tuesday night against a solid Red Wings team. It’ll be nice for them to be back in friendly confines after playing four out of their last five games away from home but luckily they were able to come up with four victories in those previous five games as well. They will be looking to bounce back from the loss and their previous game and that is exactly what I expect them to do here in this one on Tuesday night against Detroit. As I look for the New York Rangers to pick up a solid victory at home here in this game.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

NY Rangers (-160)

Winnipeg Jets @ St.Louis Blues – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Winnipeg Jets come into this game looking to grab a solid victory on the road against St. Louis here on Tuesday night. It has been a pretty slow start to the season for Winnipeg as they come into this game with a losing record through their first 11 games of the season and they will be looking to get things back on track with a crucial road victory in St. Louis. Luckily, for them a pair of their losses have come overtime which has earned them some much-needed points throughout the early part of the year and they will be looking for a hard fought two points here in this one on the road as well. They currently sit in third place of the Central division, heading into this divisional matchup with St. Louis, who is in fourth place of the division so this is a solid opportunity for Winnipeg to gain some ground and put some distance between themselves and the Blues.

St. Louis comes into this game looking to get a solid victory at home over the Winnipeg Jets here on Tuesday night as they look to jump them in the Central division standings. A victory for St. Louis would accomplish that goal, as it would put them one point higher than their divisional foes and they have been a pretty tough team to be at home throughout the years, so they have a legitimate shot at grabbing the win here in this one. This will be the third game of a four game homestand for St. Louis and as of right now they are undefeated through the first two games and they will be looking to further extend that winning streak to three. They are coming off of a pair of multi victories against the New Jersey Devils and the Montréal Canadiens and they will be looking to grab a third consecutive win here on Tuesday. That is exactly what I expect as I’m going with St. Louis to pick up the victory in this game.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

St.Louis Blues (+110)

Nashville Predators @ Calgary Flames – 9PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Nashville Predators come into this game looking to grab a solid victory north of the border in Calgary here on Tuesday night on the road. It has been a pretty underwhelming start of the season for the Nashville Predators as they come into this game with a losing record through their first 11 contests of the season. Nashville will be looking to pick up their sixth victory of the season here on Tuesday night on the road in Calgary as they look to get things back on track to remain competitive throughout the early part of the year. Nashville will have to be a lot more productive on both ends of the ice as they are giving up an average of three goals allowed per game and that is something that will have to change if they want to be competitive throughout the regular season.

The Calgary Flames are off to an awful start to the season, and they will be looking for a much-needed momentum boosting victory here at home on Tuesday night against the Nashville Predators. Calgary came into the season with plenty of expectations after back-to-back years of being a competitive franchise, and they will be looking to get things rolling in the right direction where they win here on Tuesday night as they look to get out of the early season hole they have put themselves in. Calgary comes into this game as losers of eight out of their first 11 games on the season and they will be looking for their fourth victory of the season here at home against a struggling Nashville team. Calgary is another team that needs to clean up their play on the defensive end of the ice as they are giving up an average of three goals a game as well. That is why I have this game going over the total goal line here on Tuesday night in Calgary.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Over 6 Goals (+100)
