Toronto Maple Leafs @ Florida Panthers – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Maple Leafs come into this game on Thursday night on the road against Florida looking to pick up a crucial victory against another contender in the Eastern Conference. It has been a solid start to the season for Toronto and Auston Matthews, and he just continues to put pucks in the back of the net to open up the year. Toronto has picked up a pair of victories through their first three games of the season and they will be looking to make it three out of four with another victory here on Thursday night on the road in the sunshine state. Auston Matthews is averaging two goals per game and he already has a pair of hat tricks through their first three games of the season so Florida will have to find a way to contain him if they want to grab a win over Toronto here tonight.

This is a crucial home game for the Florida Panthers and they will be doing all they can to grab a much-needed victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs here on Thursday night. It has been a pretty slow start to the season for the Florida Panthers as they have dropped two out of their first three games on the season and they will come into this one looking to grab two very important points early on the year. Florida was one of the top teams in the league last season but they have gotten off to a slow start this year and that is something they will need to turn around rather quickly if they want to further establish themselves as a potential Stanley Cup contender as the year moves on. Unfortunately for Florida I don’t see that happening in this game as I look for the Toronto Maple Leafs to pick up the victory on the road.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Toronto Maple Leafs (-135)

Vegas Golden Knights @ Winnipeg Jets – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

The defending Stanley Cup champions are off to a fantastic start this season as they have picked up a max of eight points in their first four games of the season, and they will be looking to make it five consecutive victories with another victory here on Thursday night in Canada. Not only are they undefeated through their first four games of the season but they have made it look as they have the majority of those games by two or more goals. Their recent victory against the Dallas Stars has been the closest game of the year so far as they picked up a one goal victory in a shootout. Through their first four games of the season, they have already scored 14 goals as a team and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Thursday night against Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Jets will be looking to take down the Las Vegas Golden Knights here on Thursday night at home as they look to Las Vegas their first loss of the season. It has been a less than impressive start to the season for Winnipeg as they have lost two out of their first three games on the season, and they will be desperate to grab a victory here at home to even up their record heading into the second week of the year. Winnipeg will be looking to bounce back after they were thrashed by the Los Angeles Kings by a score of 5-1 in their previous game and they will need to stop one of the hottest attacks in the league if they want to get a victory in this one. I don’t see that happening as I look for the Las Vegas Golden Knights to pick up their fifth consecutive victory of the season here on Thursday night on the road.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Vegas Golden Knights (-120)

Carolina Hurricanes @ Seattle Kraken – 10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Carolina Hurricanes will be searching for a victory as they continue their West Coast road trip into the Pacific Northwest to play the Seattle Kraken here on Thursday night. Carolina is off to a fantastic start this season as they have picked up four victories in their first five games of the year and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Thursday against one of the newest teams in the league. They are coming off of a commanding victory over the San Jose Sharks in their previous game and they will be hoping they can replicate that performance after they put six goals in the back of the net the other night against San Jose on the road. This will be the fourth game of a lengthy six game road trip early on in the season for them and they will be looking to keep grabbing victories along the way.

The Seattle Kraken coming into this game looking to give the Carolina Hurricanes their second loss of the season at home here on Thursday night. After a rough few seasons to open up their tenure year in the leagues, Seattle looked like a solid respectable team last season, and they will be looking to build upon that this year, after gaining a ton of momentum last season with a couple of upsets in the postseason. It has been a less than ideal start to the season for Seattle this year however, as they have only picked up one point out of a possible eight through their first four games of the season, and they have yet to pick up their first victory of the season as well. Unfortunately for Seattle, I don’t see them grabbing a victory in this game on Thursday night either as I have the Carolina Hurricanes grabbing the win.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Carolina Hurricanes (-145)

Chicago Blackhawks @ Colorado Avalanche – 10:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Chicago Blackhawks have a huge opportunity to grab a momentum boosting win here on Thursday night on the road in Colorado when they play the Avalanche. The Chicago Blackhawks are a young team and they are still very much in a rebuilding phase, and they will be looking to build up as much momentum as possible throughout the early part of the season. It has been a pretty respectable start to the season for the Chicago Blackhawks, considering the circumstances as they have picked up two victories in their first four games of the season, and they will be looking to grab their third victory of the season here on Thursday night on the road against Colorado.

The Colorado Avalanche will be looking to pick up a victory at home here on Thursday night against the Chicago Blackhawks as they look to keep the momentum rolling on this season. It has been a solid start to the season for Colorado as they have picked up all six points in their first three games of the season, and they will be looking to remain undefeated with another victory here on Thursday night against Chicago as they look to grab their fourth consecutive victory of the year. They are averaging around three goals a game and they have been playing well on the defensive end of the ice and I expect that to continue in this game as I look for them to grab their fourth victory here on Thursday night.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Colorado Avalanche -2.5 (+110)

Boston Bruins @ San Jose Sharks – 10:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Boston Bruins will be looking to remain undefeated with their third consecutive victory of the season here on Thursday night on the road in San Jose. Boston is off to a solid start this season after setting the record for the most wins in a regular season last year they will be looking to have another fantastic start to this season as well. Boston has been pretty solid on both ends of the ice throughout their first two games of the season as they are averaging three goals per game and they will be looking to put up three or more goals once again here against San Jose on Thursday night on the road in the bay area. They have only given up three goals through their first two games on the year as they have been solid on the defensive end of the ice as well and that is something they will be looking to continue in this game.

The San Jose Sharks have not had an ideal start to this brand new season, as they have yet to pick up a victory through their first three games of the year. Despite having three consecutive losses to open up the year, they were able to push one of those losses into overtime and earn themselves a singular point in the process. Now they will be looking to break through and grab their first victory of the season here on Thursday night as they host the Boston Bruins. They are coming off of a shellacking as they gave up six goals to the Carolina Hurricanes in their previous game and that is something that will have to improve if they want to find some type of success this year. However, I don’t see them picking up their first victory in this game as I’m going with the Boston Bruins to grab the win.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Boston Bruins -1.5 (-110)
