Only time will tell, but one thing is certain, we are in for some great games! So sit back, relax and if you like to have a bet, then you have certainly come to the right place.

Look below to find our free NHL picks, as we preview the best five games on today’s schedule.

Edmonton Oilers @ Boston Bruins – 7.00PM ET

The Edmonton Oilers continue their road trip when they travel to Boston to take on the Bruins. The Oilers are having a stellar season so far, with their record standing at 9-2-0, but last time out they did suffer a disappointing loss to the Red Wings, 2-4. The Bruins season has been a little inconsistent so far, with their record standing at 6-4-0, and in their previous game they got the win over the Senators, 3-2.

Denis Kirilov

The leader in the Western Conference, the Edmonton Oilers continue their 5-game road trip with a match in Boston against the Bruins. The team led by Dave Tippett is having a fantastic run so far consisting of 9 wins and just 2 losses. Conor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl are simply on fire as they are the best players in the NHL in terms of points accumulated. The team suffered a surprising loss to the Red Wings on Wednesday as the high expectations got the better of them. Detroit not only defeated them, but they made it in high fashion dominating over the Oilers throughout most parts of the game.

The Bruins had a slow start to this campaign as they are experiencing a really wide schedule with lots of rest days to recover from the previous match. Boston holds a record of 6 wins and 4 losses which puts them in 12th place in the East mainly due to the fact that they are one of the teams with least games played. Their veterans, Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron are getting help from their younger, full of energy and enthusiasm teammates like Charles McAvoy and David Pastrnak. The team has a lot of potential and it will be one of the last chances for Marchand and Bergeron to get their hands on yet another trophy after the unforgettable 2010/11 season. However, I think that they might focus on other matches and leave out such games against top opponents a little bit in the back as they require a lot of stamina, strength, and energy. I will trust the Oilers as I most certainly believe they can upset the Bruins in their TD Garden.

Denis’ NHL Pick: Edmonton Oilers (+128)

Tony Battalio

Edmonton suffered a shocking loss to the Detroit Red Wings in their previous game, however their record still sits at 9-2-0 on the season. So there is no need to hit the panic button just yet as they are still playing great through the first 11 games of the year. However it was still not the ideal way they would have liked to kick off this current five game road trip that includes stops in Buffalo, St. Louis and Winnipeg.

As for the Boston Bruins, they picked up a big win against the Ottawa Senators last time on the ice that improved their season record to 6-4. They have not had the start they would have liked to kick off the year but it could certainly be worse. Boston has been a team that gets home sick as shown by their dreadful 1-4-0 away from TD Garden, where they have been a perfect 5-0-0 up to this point.

As for the result, as previously mentioned Boston playing at home should help them tremendously in this game. However I still expect Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers to bounce back from their recent loss and pick up a hard fought victory in this one. I am going with the Edmonton Oilers moneyline in this one.

Tony’s NHL Pick: Edmonton Oilers (+128)

Michael Lantz

After a 9-1 start, the Edmonton Oilers were stifled by a young Detroit Red Wings team on Tuesday night. They fell 4-2, as backup goalie Stuart Skinner started his first game of the year. But, inexperience in front of the net wasn’t their only downfall, as the league’s leading scorer Leon Draisaitl had 0 shots on goal and 0 points.

Now the Oilers travel to TD Garden to take on a Boston Bruins team that is 5-0 at home.

Boston’s defense has struggled against great offenses on the road, but at home they’ve tamed opponents nicely. Edmonton will be their toughest assignment yet, and they’ll be determined to return to their winning ways. Boston on the other hand, just came off a 3-2 win against Ottawa on Tuesday night and the team just received some great news: second liner Nick Foligno is set to return from injury against the Oilers. It’s hard to bet against Edmonton when they’re currently at such good odds, but I’ll still go with the Bruins until they’ve had a loss at home.

Michael’s NHL Pick: Boston Bruins (-154)

Calgary Flames @ Montreal Canadiens – 7.00PM ET

The Calgary Flames start a monster seven game road trip when they take on the Montreal Canadiens. The Flames will be looking to recover from a poor start in November, which has seen them lose three of their four games so far, and in their previous game they lost to the Sharks, 1-4. The Canadiens are struggling this season, with their record standing at 3-10-1, and they are currently on a three game losing streak.

Denis Kirilov

The battle between two of the top teams on Canadian territory. However, the teams had a really contrasting start to their season. The Flames are in top 3 of the West with 17 points out of 12 games, while the Canadiens are on the bottom in the East with 3 wins out of 14 matches. Their goal difference is awful with 28 goals scored and 48 goals conceded. It seems like the runner-up from last season will have a hard time reaching the Playoffs this time. They will need to make some amendments as soon as possible, if they want to get back to their glorious times.

The Flames have displayed some bad performances in the last week of the NHL, losing at home against the Nashville Predators, the Dallas Stars, and the San Jose Sharks. If we analyze each of these games, we can see a pattern that reflects the temporary hole that the Calgary Flames are into. They have been the more dominant team on the ice-hockey rink in each of the aforementioned fixtures, but they didn’t manage to convert their chances in front of goal. Their transition from offense back to defense is what was their biggest issue in these matches as they allowed a lot of goals on counter-attack. That is why I will choose the Canadiens in this matchup as Brendan Gallagher, Ben Chiarot, Jeff Petry and Nick Suzuki are way better than the last place in the East.

Denis’ NHL Pick: Montreal Canadiens (+122)

Tony Battalio

Calgary is hitting the road for a huge seven game road trip at potentially the wrong time, as after a hot start in October, the month of November has not been as kind as they have lost three of their four games played this month. Despite the recent skid they still hold a record of 7-2-3 and have plenty of time and chances to turn around their recent funk. Every point will be important on this seven game trip that includes stops in Toronto, Philadelphia, Buffalo, New York, and Boston.

As for the Montreal Canadiens, they have got off to a horrible start as their record sits at 3-10-1 through their first 14 contests this season. They will be looking to snap a home losing streak as they welcome Calgary into their building. They have not looked overall impressive at home as their current three game skid and overall record of 2-5-1 on their home ice has been reflective of that. They will certainly be looking for a huge win here to gain some momentum and potentially turn their slow start to the season around.

As for the result of this game, I do not expect that to happen. I expect the Calgary Flames to recover from their November slump in a big way on this road and it starts on Thursday night in Montreal. The moneyline is the safer bet in this contest as due to Calgary’s recent play I don’t see them dominating this one.

Tony’s NHL Pick: Calgary Flames (-146)

Michael Lantz

The Montreal Canadiens are still down six key players, as the likes of captain Shea Weber, ex-Hart Trophy winner Carey Price, and veteran Mathieu Perreault all sit out with injury. Without them the Canadiens have sunk to 3-10-1—just months after making a Stanley Cup run. Not saying those aging players would make a huge difference, but having some experience and depth would be much appreciated by the Habs right now.

Montreal now has the pleasure of hosting the Calgary Flames who after a six game win streak at the end of October have been a bit lukewarm. To start November they had two OT losses against Nashville and Dallas, which weren’t worse-case scenarios. They followed those games with a thrashing of the New York Rangers 6-0; it seemed like the Flames were back on track.

But then they were given a 1-4 beating by the Sharks in a game that was going to be a showdown between two of the league’s best keepers in James Reimer and Jakob Markstrom—only thing is, Reimer didn’t play. The Calgary offense was shut down by Adin Hill (who also had two assists). As frustrating of a loss as that was, I don’t expect the Flames to come out so cold for consecutive games. They shouldn’t have an issue with a depleted Canadiens team, even in Montreal.

Michael’s NHL Pick: Calgary Flames -1.5 (+184)

Florida Panthers @ Pittsburgh Penguins – 7.00PM ET

The Florida Panthers continue their road trip and will be looking to put an end to a two game losing streak against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday night. The Panthers have a great season record, standing at 10-2-1, but they have lost to the Rangers and the Devils in back-to-back games. All three of the Penguins games so far in November have gone to overtime, with two of those three also going to a shootout, and this takes their season record of 4-3-4.

Denis Kirilov

The Florida Panthers will have another hard game incoming as they will meet the Pittsburgh Penguins in their PPG Paints Arena. Both teams are coming into this match after two straight losses to teams who aren’t that good at the moment. The Penguins lost to Minnesota and Chicago, while the Rangers and the Devils surprised the Panthers. Pittsburgh is having a lot of troubles in the start of this season as they are without some of their key players. Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Brian Dumoulin are still out for the team led by Mike Sullivan.
On the other hand, the Panthers looked as if they were the best team in the NHL at the moment after beating the undefeated Carolina Hurricanes. However, their last two games were perfect examples of when the busy schedule takes the better of them and they start losing focus. They have literally dominated in both games, but luck wasn’t on their side as they couldn’t convert their chances and at the same time, conceded easy mistakes in defense which led to a goal in most situations. I think their momentum is not over yet and we will see their nice-looking form in action at least until Christmas. Although some of their players are missing too, Duclair, Barkov, Ekblad, and Huberdeau can still get the job done for the Panthers. Hence, my pick here goes in favor of Florida.

Denis’ NHL Pick: Florida Panthers (-132)

Tony Battalio

The Florida Panthers got off to a blazing start this season but have hit a recent speed bump as they are currently on a two game losing streak. This could just be a run of bad play or the fallout from losing their coach amid the ongoing Chicago Blackhawks scandal finally catching up to them. They still hold a record of 10-2-1 but recent losses in consecutive contests to New York and New Jersey are certainly something to keep an eye on. They will need to fix their problems quickly as a tough stretch of games awaits them, contests against Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, New York, New Jersey and Minnesota will be enough for them to prove if this 2 game losing streak is a fluke or a sign of real trouble within the organization.

As for the Pittsburgh Penguins, they have got off to a better start than most would have expected after they found out they would be without two of their best players for the first handful of games this season. Their overall record on the season is 4-3-4 as they have lost 5 of their last 6 games. With tough games against Washington and Buffalo ahead they will need to find a way to break their recent run of bad play and get back into the winning column as soon as possible.

As for the result of this game, I think it will be a lot closer than most people will expect it to be as Pittsburgh is still very capable of winning without their star players in Sidney Crosby and Evengi Malkin. However in the end I look for the Florida Panthers to prevail in a game that could potentially go to overtime and even a shootout to decide the winner.

Tony’s NHL Pick: Florida Panthers (-132)

Michael Lantz

Let’s be honest, the Pittsburgh Penguins starting the season 3-0-2 was odd considering Sidney Crosby and Evengi Malkin didn’t play a single second of those games. Since then, the team has played a bit more like I was expecting them to play without their two future hall-of-famers. Crosby returned for one game, against the New Jersey Devils, but was sidelined right after due to testing positive for COVID and since those first five games, the Penguins have only won one, now sitting at 4-3-4.

Pittsburgh won’t have it any easier, as they host a 10-2-1 Florida Panthers team. A silver lining for Pittsburgh: the Panthers have had consecutive losses in which they gave up 11 goals between both games (including seven to the Devils). Pittsburgh has shown they can still pile on the goals against good teams even without their two stars. Last month they racked up six in the season opener against Tampa Bay and then seven against Toronto over a week later. Since that 7-1 win over the Maple Leafs their attack hasn’t been nearly as strong. Even with Florida’s defense looking vulnerable over the last couple of games, the Panthers have to be seen as the safe pick.

Michael’s NHL Pick: Florida Panthers (-132)

Nashville Predators @ St. Louis Blues – 8.00PM ET

The Nashville Predators wrap up their road trip when they take on the St. Louis Blues on Thursday night. The Predators can’t seem to string consecutive wins together, and they have won three games out of five so far in November. The Blues are in a similar boat for November, they have won two games out of four so far, and this brings their season record to 8-2-1.

Denis Kirilov

The Nashville Predators have just won their away game against the Dallas Stars,4-2, on Wednesday night. They went on their sixth consecutive match on the road, this time the opponent should be a lot tougher. The St. Louis Blues are 3rd in the Western Conference at 1 point behind the 1st place. They started off the campaign quite well with 5 straight wins which eventually led them to their record as of now – 8-2-1. Although the Blues seem to be in a pretty tight spot after mixing wins and losses recently, they certainly know how to pick up their momentum. They have proved that they can meet and even exceed the expectations put on by their fans.

The Predators, themselves, had a really successful first stage of the season as they managed to remain in top 8 in their respective conference ahead of teams like the Colorado Avalanche, the Vegas Golden Knights, and the Los Angeles Kings. Their form also fluctuates any 48 hours, but they have proved that they shouldn’t be underestimated by any team in the NHL. Some of their most recent victims include the Calgary Flames, the San Jose Sharks, the Minnesota Wild, and the New York Islanders. The trio between Roman Josi, Mikael Granlund, and Ryan Johansen have shown its potential and every team should be aware of their upcoming plays. However, I think that the game will be a tight contest, but eventually the St. Louis Blues will prevail.

Denis’ NHL Pick: St. Louis Blues (-172)

Tony Battalio

Nashville picked up another huge win on the road as they embark on their 6th straight road game, this time they are in for a much tougher time against a really good St. Louis Blues team. It will not be as easy this time around for the Predators as St. Louis is on an impressive five game win streak that has brought their record 8-2-1 on the year. St. Louis has themselves positioned early in the season to be a Stanley Cup contender in the Western Conference. Nashville is still trying to recover from a slow start to the season however they are starting to recover quite nicely.

As for the result of this one, while both teams are playing decent hockey at the moment, I think St. Louis is just too good for Nashville to defeat on the road in a tough environment. I think the safer bet than this one is the St. Louis Blues moneyline as Nashville should still be able to make this a competitive hockey game. This game has the potential to be the most competitive of the Thursday slate.

Tony’s NHL Pick: St. Louis Blues (-172)

Michael Lantz

Since the last week of October, St. Louis has been a hard team to put a finger on. They’ve had a constant fluctuation between wins and losses. Since their October 25th win against the Kings they haven’t had consecutive wins or losses. On Tuesday night they had a 3-2 shootout win over the Winnipeg Jets, so if we’re going by their recent pattern…are they destined to lose to the Nashville Predators?

Funny enough, Nashville has been on a similar pattern, as they’ve gone between wins and losses every game since their November 2nd win against the Calgary Flames. With both teams coming off wins, one team will finally get a consecutive result, while the other will continue with the same pattern. St. Louis has been top five in least amount of goals allowed, but they’ve also hit a bit of an offensive rut since this odd pattern of wins and losses started. They’ve averaged under three goals per game in their last six, compared to nearly six per game in their first four games. Still, thanks to that defense they sit at 8-2-1. Meanwhile, Nashville hasn’t been terribly impressive in the goals for or against categories. They’re ranked 20 or lower in both. Still, the Preds have found a way to win gritty games on the road. While I think this one will be quite close, I’ll go with the Blues at home.

Michael’s NHL Pick: St. Louis Blues (-172)

San Jose Sharks @ Winnipeg Jets – 8.00PM ET

The San Jose Sharks continue on the road when they travel to Winnipeg and take on the Jets. The Sharks are putting together a decent record so far this season, currently at 7-4-1, and last time out they got a nice win against the Flames, 4-1. The Jets are looking to put an end to their two game losing streak, which has brought their season record to 6-3-3, and in their previous game they lost to the Blues, 2-3, in a shootout.

Denis Kirilov

The San Jose Sharks travel to Winnipeg for their second consecutive game on the road after a convincing 4-1 win over the Calgary Flames in their previous match. They are having temporary problems with their roster as almost half of the team is put under COVID-19 Protocol, which makes the opportunities for Bob Boughner a lot more limited as he also has to rely on many players without much NHL experience. However, the San Jose Sharks have already played three games like that and they are far from being a punching bag. It’s actually quite the opposite – they are fighting until the end as each one of them wants to prove what he is capable of and to be further considered for the team.

This game comes up as a great opportunity for the Winnipeg Jets to put an end to their losing streak. They need to start playing as a well-organized team that remains focused on both ends during the match. They are definitely capable of doing so as they find themselves just 3 points short of 1st place in the West. Although their path to the Playoffs seems tough, Winnipeg is quite certain of their future success. However, in order to reach this potential milestone, the Jets will need to win such matches more often. I think the current circumstances favor them and they should take advantage of them. All in all, I believe they can cover their spread and win by at least a 2-goal margin.

Denis’ NHL Pick: Winnipeg Jets -1.5 (+140)

Tony Battalio

Both of these teams are off to pretty decent starts in the 2021-22 National Hockey League season and they both come into this game looking to build on those starts. San Jose is currently 7-4-1 after picking up a win against the Calgary Flames the other night, as they are in the middle of a road trip where they face some impressive competition. As for the Winnipeg Jets they are currently 6-3-3 following a shootout loss to the St. Louis Blues. This could easily be the most competitive match up of the Thursday night slate.

As for the result, I expect this game to go into overtime before it finds a clear winner. As both teams have the potential to pull off big victories in this contest. So the safer bet in my opinion is picking a prop bet of the game going to overtime instead of trying to pick a clear cut winner in this one.

Tony’s NHL Pick: Overtime – Yes (+320)

Michael Lantz

After two seasons with losing records in which they failed to make the postseason, the San Jose Sharks are looking like a different team in 2021-22. Sure, it’s early, but at 7-4-1, the Sharks are thrilled to have one of the league’s best goalie combos in James Reimer and Adin Hill and have been getting great performances from veterans Logan Couture (11 points, +9) and former Norris Trophy winner Brent Burns (11 points). They’re also seeing great play from young talent like Jonathan Dahlen and Timo Meier, who are also among the leaders in team scoring.

On Thursday night they face a 6-3-3 Winnipeg Jets team that have definitely been hot & cold. The Jets started the season 0-2-1, before winning four straight. Since then they’ve continued to be a bit unpredictable and are in the midst of consecutive losses (one regulation, one OT). Results aside, they’ve been thrilled with the play of young American Kyle Connor, who is among the lead leaders in scoring with 17 points. Winnipeg hopes he can help contribute to get them back on a win streak—unfortunately, the Sharks have been kryptonite for the Jets so far: they’ve beaten them in both contests this season. But, both of those games were in San Jose and the Sharks just squeezed by in both. With this one up in Manitoba, I’ll take the Jets.

Michael’s NHL Pick: Winnipeg Jets (-192)
