Detroit Red Wings @ Boston Bruins – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a solid start to the season for Detroit and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Saturday night against the Boston Bruins on the road at TD Garden. They come into this game with five victories, through their first eight games of the season, and they haven’t earned a total of 11 points out of a maximum of 16, which has put them on pace to finish the year in one of the top eight spots in the conference, and make a playoff appearance. Detroit will be looking to grab their sixth victory of the season on the road against a Boston Bruins team, and then only recently suffered their first loss of the season in overtime. It would be a sort of a statement victory if Detroit could pull this off here on Saturday night.

The Boston Bruins are off to a fantastic start this season, but they are coming off of their first loss of the year after they were unable to beat the Anaheim Ducks at home in overtime. It is hard to beat any team twice in the same season let alone the same week and Boston learned that in their previous game after splitting the season series with Anaheim they will be looking to get back into the winners column in this game against Detroit here on Saturday night at home. Boston is coming into this game with six victories to their name this season and they have earned a total of 13 out of a possible 14 points so they are off to a great start this year. I expect them to pick up victory number seven here on Saturday night at home against Detroit.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Boston Bruins (-200)

New York Islanders @ Columbus Blue Jackets – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Islanders will be looking for a solid victory on the road in Columbus here on Saturday night as they look to keep the momentum rolling early on in the year. It has been a pretty average start of the season for the New York Islanders as they have picked up three victories, through their first six games of the season, and they will be looking to make it four out of seven with a quality performance here on Saturday night in Columbus. Early on in the year, New York finds themselves in the middle of the pack of the Metropolitan Division, and they will be looking to improve their standing with a victory in this game on Saturday night on the road in Columbus. They snapped a three game losing streak in their previous game and they will be looking to grab a second consecutive victory here in this one.

It has been a pretty average start of the season for the Columbus Blue Jackets as they have picked up three victories through their first seven games of the season but two of those losses have come in overtime so they’ve earned points along the way. They will be needing a statement win, and tonight provides them with the perfect opportunity to go out and grab one at home against the New York Islanders as they look to get the momentum rolling early on in the year and get back into the win column. They are on a two game losing streak, that they will be looking to snap and their previous three games have all gone into overtime with only one of them being a win and that is something that will have to change rather quickly if they want to find success this season. I expect them to pick up a victory here in this one at home however, as I look for them to finally break through and snap their quick two game losing streak.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Columbus Blue Jackets (+130)

Toronto Maple Leafs @ Nashville Predators – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a decent start of the season for the Toronto Maple Leafs and they will be looking to pick up a quality victory on the road in Nashville here on Saturday night to keep the momentum going. Toronto has picked up five victories in their first seven games of the season, and they will be looking to make it six out of eight with another victory here in this one on the road against the Predators. Auston Matthews just continues to put the puck in the back of the net, and he will be looking to do more of the same here in this one on Saturday night as he looks to lead Toronto to another victory this season. Toronto comes into this game on a three game-winning streak and they will be looking to grab a fourth consecutive win here in this one.

It has been a less than ideal start to the season for the Nashville Predators, but they will be looking for a state statement victory here on Saturday night at home against the Toronto Maple Leafs to get the momentum rolling in the right direction. Nashville has only picked up a total of six points out of a possible 12 through their first seven games of the season as they only have three victories but four losses to show for it. They will need to get things turned around rather quickly and a victory over a hot Toronto Maple Leafs team would be the right way to do things as it would give them plenty of momentum heading into the weekend. For Nashville I don’t see that happening as I have Toronto picking up the victory in this game on Saturday night on the road.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Toronto Maple Leafs (-145)

New York Rangers @ Vancouver Canucks – 10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Rangers will be looking for a solid victory here on Saturday night when they cross the border and head out to Vancouver to play the Canucks. It has been a solid start to the season for the New York Rangers and they will be looking to build upon their solid start with another victory here on Saturday night on the road. They are currently on a three game-winning streak and they have picked up four victories and their last five games of the season and they will be looking to make it five out of six with another quality performance here in this one. This will be the fourth consecutive game of their road trip and the third consecutive game in Canada and they will be looking to continue conquering the Canadian provinces with another victory over Vancouver here on Saturday night.

The Vancouver Canucks are off to a solid start this season, and their years long rebuilding process may finally be paying off for them if they can keep the momentum rolling on the year. They come into this game with four victories through their first six games of the season and they will be looking to make it five out of seven with a quality victory at home against the New York Rangers on Saturday night. They will also be looking to snap the New York Rangers three game-winning streak and spoil the celebration of them closing out their road trip on a high note. Vancouver just capped off a road trip and they capped it off by winning two consecutive games, and now they will return home, looking to win a third. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Vancouver Canucks to grab the victory here on Saturday night at home.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Vancouver Canucks (+125)

Vegas Golden Knights @ Los Angeles Kings – 10:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The defending Stanley Cup champions are off to a solid start this season, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling here on Saturday night on the road in Los Angeles against the Kings. Vegas isn’t having a championship hangover early on in the season, and they will be looking to further avoid that with a quality victory on the road in Los Angeles here on Saturday night as they look to further establish themselves as the favorites to repeat as Stanley Cup champions this season. Vegas is one of the only remaining undefeated teams in the league this season as they have picked up a victory and their first seven games of the year and they will be looking to grab their eighth consecutive victory here on Saturday night on the road.

It has been a pretty average start of the season for the Los Angeles Kings and they will be looking to grab a monumental momentum boosting victory here on Saturday night at home against the defending Stanley Cup champions. The Los Angeles Kings come into this game with three victories through their first six games of the season and a total of seven points through their first six games of the season as well which will have to change rather quickly if they want to show that they are a potential threat this season. They will be looking to take down the undefeated defending Stanley Cup champions here at home on Saturday night and they will have to play perfect hockey if they want to get the job done here in this one. Unfortunately for them I don’t see that happening as I look for Vegas to win their eighth consecutive game of the season.

SportsTips’ NHL Pick:

Vegas Golden Knights (-115)
