Washington is playing on back-to-back days after losing in blowout fashion yesterday at TD Garden, falling to the Boston Celtics 112-94. Kristaps Porzingis had 17 points and 13 rebounds in defeat to lead the team. The Wizards are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference, 1.5 games behind the Milwaukee Bucks.
It’s the first meeting of the season between the teams. Washington won two out of three games between the teams last season, including a 106-103 triumph in their last meeting at Wells Fargo Center on February 2. Kyle Kuzma led the Wizards with 24 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks.
Embiid had 27 points in the losing effort. Embiid is averaging 27.2 points per game to lead the Sixers in scoring this season. Embiid also has grabbed 9.5 rebounds per game. Meanwhile, James Harden is dishing 9.0 assists.Bradley Beal (20.8 ppg) and Kuzma (18.5) have powered the Wizards’ offense.
Beal also has distributed 6.2 assists per game. Porzingis has collected 8.3 rebounds per game.Shooting 48.1% from the field, the 76ers are one of the most accurate field goal shooting teams in the league (5th).The Wizards have found success in recent clashes between the teams at Capital One Arena, winning seven of the last 10.
