The Washington Wizards (2-1, 1-0 Home) welcome the Detroit Pistons (1-2, 0-2 Away) Tuesday at Capital One Arena. Detroit was defeated by the Indiana Pacers 124-115 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Saturday. With 22 points, Cade Cunningham was the scoring leader in defeat. Saddiq Bey added 20 points and 11 rebounds.
Washington came up short on Sunday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, falling to the Cleveland Cavaliers 117-107 in overtime. Bradley Beal had 27 points in the losing effort to lead the team. Washington swept all four games between the teams last season, the last of which was a 100-97 triumph at Little Caesars Arena on March 25, their fifth straight head-to-head victory.
Kristaps Porzingis led the Wizards with 30 points and 10 rebounds. Marvin Bagley III had 25 points in the loss. The Pistons have been led early this season by Bojan Bogdanovic (19.3 ppg), Cunningham (18.3), and Bey (18.0). Cunningham also has dished 7.0 assists per game. Meanwhile, Isaiah Stewart is grabbing 10.3 rebounds per game.
Beal and Kyle Kuzma have supplied much of the Wizards’ offense, averaging 23.0 and 19.7 points per game, respectively. Beal also has tallied 6.3 assists per game. Porzingis has averaged 8.0 rebounds per game. The Pistons are winless in their last 10 games at Capital One Arena.
