Cameron Johnson led the Suns with 20 points. Brandon Williams had 14 points in defeat. Booker averaged 26.8 points per game, ninth-highest in the league, to lead the Suns in scoring last season. Meanwhile, Deandre Ayton grabbed 10.2 rebounds per game, and Chris Paul dished 10.8 assists. Damian Lillard was the primary provider for the Blazers on offense last season, averaging 24.0 points per game. Lillard also doled out 7.3 assists per game. Jusuf Nurkic averaged 11.1 rebounds to lead the team. The Suns have come up short more often than not in recent games at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter, losing seven of the last 10.
