The Portland Trail Blazers (18-16, 10-10 Away) will try to slow down one of the NBA’s top scoring teams when they are on the road to face the Golden State Warriors (18-18, 15-2 Home) on Friday. Portland defeated the Charlotte Hornets 124-113 at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter on Monday.
Jerami Grant led the way with 32 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. The Trail Blazers are the eighth seed in the Western Conference. Golden State won their third in a row on Wednesday at Chase Center, beating the Utah Jazz 112-107. Jordan Poole led the team in scoring with 26 points.
With 19 points, Donte DiVincenzo also impressed. The Warriors are the 10th seed in the Western Conference. The teams are meeting for the first time this season.
Golden State swept all three matchups between the teams last season, the last of which was a 132-95 triumph at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter on February 24, their third straight head-to-head victory.
Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 18 points and 14 assists. Anfernee Simons had 24 points in the loss. Simons and Grant, averaging 22.4 and 22.1 points per game, respectively, are leading the Blazers in scoring this season.
Simons also has dished 4.1 assists per game. Meanwhile, Jusuf Nurkic is grabbing 9.9 rebounds per game. Curry has supplied much of the Warriors’ offense, averaging 30.0 points per game. He ranks as the fifth-highest scorer in the NBA.
Curry also has recorded 6.8 assists per game. Kevon Looney has pulled down 7.8 rebounds per game. The Warriors are one of the most explosive offenses in the NBA, ranking fifth with 116.4 points per game. The Trail Blazers are 1-4 in five games at Chase Center. Portland has dropped three in a row away from Moda Center at the Rose Quarter this season.
