The Charlotte Hornets (9-25, 5-14 Away) head to face the Golden State Warriors (16-18, 13-2 Home) Tuesday in what figures to be a fast-paced game. Charlotte is playing on back-to-back days after getting beaten by the Portland Trail Blazers 124-113 at Moda Center at the Rose Quarter yesterday.
With 27 points, LaMelo Ball was the leading scorer in defeat. PJ Washington added 22 points and three blocks. The Hornets are the 14th seed in the Eastern Conference. Golden State found victory on Sunday at Chase Center, beating the Memphis Grizzlies 123-109. Jordan Poole topped the scoresheet with 32 points.
With 19 points, Donte DiVincenzo also played a part. The Warriors are 11th in the Western Conference. It’s the final meeting of the season between the teams. Charlotte will be looking for a season sweep against Golden State after taking the only prior game 120-113 in overtime at Spectrum Center on October 29.
Washington led the Hornets with 31 points and seven rebounds. Stephen Curry had 31 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in the loss. The Hornets have been led this season by Kelly Oubre Jr. and Terry Rozier, who are averaging 20.6 and 20.4 points per game, respectively. Rozier also has dished 5.5 assists per game.
Meanwhile, Mason Plumlee is grabbing 9.1 rebounds per game. Curry has supplied much of the Warriors’ offense, averaging 30.0 points per game. He has the seventh-highest scoring average in the NBA. Curry also has distributed 6.8 assists per game.
