Detroit Pistons @ Charlotte Hornets – 7PM ET

Tony Battalio

Despite making a furious comeback towards the end of the game the Detroit Pistons dropped their season opener to the Miami Heat and they will be looking to bounce back here on Friday night on the road in Charlotte. It was a rough start to the season for Detroit as they were down double digits at one point to the Miami Heat before battling their way back and getting back into the game before falling by one point on the road in Miami. Detroit has plenty of young talent on their roster that will need to learn how to win close games as the year progresses and hopefully they will be able to use this as a learning experience for the future as they look to pick up their first victory of the season here on Friday night on the road.

The Charlotte Hornets upset the Atlanta Hawks and they’re opening game of the season on Wednesday night and they will be looking to replicate that performance here on Friday night at home against the Detroit Pistons. It was a solid game for Charlotte as they picked up a much-needed victory to open up the year and now they will look to keep the momentum rolling here in this one against a young Detroit Pistons team, as they look to grab their second consecutive win to open up the year. This is a solid Charlotte Hornets team that is very capable of grabbing a playoff spot. If they remain healthy and consistent throughout the season and I expect them to pick up a second consecutive victory here in this one on Friday as well.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Charlotte Hornets (-165)

New York Knicks @ Atlanta Hawks – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Knicks were unable to get the job done in their opening game of the season at home against the Boston Celtics as they fell just short against a top contender in the Eastern Conference to open up the year. Now they will be looking to regroup up here on Friday night on the road against the Atlanta Hawks as they play their first road game of the season and they will be searching for their first victory of the season as well. Immanuel Quickley led the team in scoring with 24 points in their opening game of the year and he will be looking to keep them a minimum rolling here in this one in game number two as he looks to lead the New York Knicks to a much-needed victory over Atlanta.

The Atlanta Hawks were upset by the Charlotte Hornets in their opening game of the season after leading for the majority of the game. Now they will be looking to regroup and rebound against the New York Knicks at home here on Friday night as they look to pick up their first victory of the year. As expected, Trae Young led the team with 23 points, and he will have to put up similar numbers in this one if they want to get the job done against a very tough New York Knicks team here on Friday night. If all the pieces fall into place for Atlanta, this is a solid team that could easily make a solid playoff appearance this season, and I expect them to grab their first victory of the season here in this one, as Trae Young tends to perform well against the New York Knicks.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Atlanta Hawks (-130)

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Cleveland Cavaliers – 7:30PM ET

Tony Battalio

It was a solid showing in their opening game of the season for the Oklahoma City Thunder on the road in Chicago. Now they will be looking to replicate that performance against another Central division team when they take on the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night in Cleveland. After injuring himself last season and not playing a single game during his rookie year, Chet Holmgren finally made his NBA debut on Wednesday night. It was a decent performance for him and his first professional game as he put in 11 points, but it was Shae Gilgeous Alexander that led the way for the Thunder in this one on Wednesday night. Now they will be looking to replicate that performance here on Friday night in Cleveland.

The Cleveland Cavaliers picked up a victory by the skin of their teeth in their opening game of the season against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday night in Brooklyn. Now, Cleveland will be looking to pick up their second consecutive victory of the season and grab a victory in their home opener as well here on Friday night against Oklahoma City. Donovan Mitchell had a game-winning three for the Cleveland Cavaliers late in the game and newcomer Max Strus also put in 27 points to match Donovan Mitchell’s performance and lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a season opening victory. I expect them to put up another quality performance in this game on Friday night and for the Cavs to grab their second victory of the season.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Cleveland Cavs (-155)

Toronto Raptors @ Chicago Bulls – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

It was a solid performance for the Toronto Raptors and their first game of the season. Now they will be looking to replicate that performance here on Friday night in Chicago as they search for their second consecutive victory to open up the year. They managed to pull off a close three-point victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves at home and now they will be looking to go on the road and grab another victory against the Chicago Bulls. Dennis Schroeder led the way for the Toronto Raptors in this game, and he will be looking to replicate that performance, as well as he tries to lead them to a second consecutive victory here on the road against the Chicago Bulls.

It was a rough showing for the Chicago Bulls in their opening game of the season as they were unable to grab a victory. Now they find themselves searching for their first win of the season here on Friday night at home. They were blown out by the Oklahoma City Thunder as they only managed to score 104 points and suffered a 20 point loss in game number one of the season. Chicago have to play much better on the defensive end of the court if they want to have some success this season at giving up over 120 points on Wednesday. Unfortunately for Chicago, I don’t see them grabbing the victory in this game either as I’m going with the Toronto Raptors to get the win south of the border in the Windy City on Friday night.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

Toronto Raptors (+110)

Houston Rockets @ San Antonio Spurs – 8PM ET

Tony Battalio

It was a pretty forgetful season opening game for the Houston Rockets against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night as they were unable to crack the 100 point barrier and suffered a 30 point loss to open up the season. Now they will be looking to regroup and recover when they hit the road back to Texas to play the San Antonio Spurs here on Friday night. For the last several seasons, Houston has been stuck in what seems like an endless rebuild mode and if their opening game of the season is any indication of their success this season it will be another long year for the Houston Rockets. They will be hoping they can grab a victory against another young team here on Friday night on the road in San Antonio.

The San Antonio Spurs come into this game, searching for their first victory of the season after they were unable to grab a win at home against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. Number one overall draft pick Victor Wembanyama put up decent numbers in his first career NBA game, and they will be looking to build upon that momentum as they search for victory number one of the season. They will be facing off against the Houston Rockets team that is coming off of a game where they got demolished and they’re opening game of the season, and Saint Antonio will be hoping they can further add to their misery with another thrashing of the Rockets here in this. It is exactly what I expect as I look for San Antonio to pick up the victory at home here on Friday night.

SportsTips’ NBA Pick:

San Antonio Spurs (-120)
