The Cleveland Cavaliers (2-1, 1-0 Home) host the Orlando Magic (0-4, 0-3 Away), who will be out to snap their losing run, on Wednesday. Orlando was defeated by the New York Knicks 115-102 at Madison Square Garden on Monday, their fourth loss in a row. With 21 points, Paolo Banchero was the scoring leader in the loss. Bol Bol added 19 points and four blocks.
Cleveland were victorious on Sunday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, beating the Washington Wizards 117-107 in overtime. Donovan Mitchell had 37 points, leading the team. Cleveland won two out of three games between the teams last season, although Orlando triumphed 120-115 in the last meeting at Amway Center on April 5.
Darius Garland topped all players in scoring with 27 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds in the losing effort. Mo Bamba had 21 points, 12 rebounds, six blocks, and three assists for the Magic. Banchero is averaging 22.8 points per game to lead the Magic in scoring so far this season.
Meanwhile, Wendell Carter Jr. is grabbing 10.5 rebounds per game, and Cole Anthony is dishing 4.0 assists. Mitchell (33.3 ppg) has supplied much of the Cavs’ offense. He ranks as the third-highest scorer in the NBA. Mitchell also has recorded 7.0 assists per game. Jarrett Allen has posted 10.0 rebounds per game. The Magic are 4-6 in their last 10 games at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Orlando is looking to taste victory away from Amway Center for the first time this season.
