Trae Young had a career night while John Collins had another monster double double, with the duo leading the Atlanta Hawks to the 116-113 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks in Game One of the Eastern Conference Finals.

The first quarter saw multiple lead changes but had the Bucks ending up with a 28-25 margin. Milwaukee then extended that to a 59-54 lead at halftime, before letting it fall away in the third.

Atlanta used a 34-26 third quarter to steal the lead heading into the final break. In the fourth, Milwaukee rallied behind their crowd to give one last push, leading by as many as seven with under four minutes remaining, but ultimately couldn’t hold on. Atlanta ended the game on a 18-8 run to steal Game One on the road.

Giannis Antetokounmpo finished one assist shy of a 34 point triple-double while Jrue Holiday had his best game of the postseason, a 33 point, 10 assists double double, but ultimately it wasn’t enough for the Bucks to win the opening game of the series.

However, the game belonged to Trae Young and the Hawks. Their All Star put up a career high 48 points along with 11 assists, completely taking over the game to ensure they escaped with the win. With the game in the balance, he poured in 11 points in in the final period, hitting clutch shot after clutch shot.

He had some help too, with John Collins putting up 23 points and 15 rebounds, scoring 10 points in the third quarter when the Hawks made their run. Clint Capela dominated inside as well, finishing with 12 points and a massive 19 rebounds, with the Hawks big man duo combining for nine offensive boards.

The game was filled with energy and enthusiasm with the game ending in an Atlanta Game One victory. While the Hawks have stolen Game One and home court advantage, you know that Milwaukee won’t ever give up on their quest for an NBA Championship.
