The Toronto Blue Jays (25-21) host the Baltimore Orioles (30-16) at Rogers Centre on Sunday with the visitors in position to sweep the three-game series.
The Orioles lead the series 2-0 after winning 6-5 in 10 innings on Saturday. Felix Bautista threw two scoreless innings in relief to get the win.
Ryan O’Hearn was 3 for 5 with a home run and four RBIs in the win. Adam Frazier went 3 for 4 with a triple and two runs. Santiago Espinal went 3 for 3 with a double and one run for the Blue Jays. George Springer added a home run, two runs, and three RBIs.
ON THE MOUND
Dean Kremer (5-1, 4.97 ERA) is set to start for Baltimore. The righty is tied for fourth in the AL in wins. Kremer allowed three runs over 5.2 innings in his last start, a 7-3 home win over the Angels on Tuesday.
He was credited with the win, giving up six hits while striking out four. Kremer is making his first appearance against the Blue Jays this season. Over four appearances (three starts) against the Blue Jays in 2022, Kremer was 1-2 with a 3.38 ERA over 24 innings.
He had 16 strikeouts and nine walks. Righty Kevin Gausman (2-3, 3.38 ERA) will toe the rubber for Toronto. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Orioles.
Gausman made two appearances against the Orioles in 2022, both as the starter, striking out nine and walking one over nine innings (1-1, 7.00).
In his last start on Tuesday, Gausman took a no-decision at home against the Yankees. He threw seven innings and gave up three runs (2 ER) on five hits, striking out 10 and walking two in the 6-3 loss. The righty leads the AL in strikeouts (77).
