Washington Nationals @ Atlanta Braves – 12:20PM ET

The Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves will be playing the finale of their three game series in this one. In game one the Nats won 11-2, in game two the Braves got the 16-4 win to even the series at 1-1.

Tony Battalio

The Washington Nationals are coming into this game after getting blasted in game two against the Atlanta Braves by a score of 16-4. It was a huge difference from the 11-2 victory the Nationals picked up in game one. Now they will be looking to bounce back in game three of this series. Taking the mound for the Nationals in this game is Josiah Gray. On the year he is 0-1 and has a nine run Earned Run Average which he will be looking to improve upon.

The Atlanta Braves are coming into this game looking to repeat their 16-4 victory from Tuesday evening. The defending World Series champions are having a shaky start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. However, it is still early in the year and there are over 150 games remaining in the regular season. Taking the hill for the Braves in this one is Max Fried. He is coming into this game with an 0-1 record and an Earned Run Average of 7.94 on the season. As for the result of this game I have the Atlanta Braves getting the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Atlanta Braves (-220)

Jeffery Thomas

Wednesday will be the series finale for the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves, with both teams splitting the first two games. Tuesday went the way of Atlanta, who bounced back from a performance where they only got 2 runs in a big way and ended up scoring 16 in Wednesday’s matchup. Ozzie Albies had 3 hits including a homerun and 3 RBIs, while Marvell Ozuna got his first two home runs of the season. This was just the second time in six games that the defending champion Braves scored over 3 runs, as they adjust to life without Freddie Freeman and still await the return of Ronald Acuna Jr.

Max Fried will be taking the bump for the Atlanta Braves in this one and he is notoriously a slow starter to begin seasons. It’s looking like that could be the case here again this season, as he had a rough first start of the year against the Cincinnati Reds. I can’t lay this price with the Braves who haven’t shown much consistency on offense yet this year and don’t have a pitcher I trust so I’m going to take the Nats on the run line, and bank on them getting a few runs on Fried early and keep this one close.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Washington Nationals +1.5 (-118)

Marko Nadin

The Atlanta Braves have started the season with a 3-3 record after splitting the series against the Reds as well as the first two games against the Nationals. After dropping the first one 11-2 against Washington, the Braves bounced back for a 16-4 win. They had 19 hits in the game and scored a run in five consecutive innings. Atlanta has won 7 of the last 10 games against the Nationals, They will start Max Fried who is 0-1 for the season with a 7.94 ERA.

The Washington Nationals are 2-4 for the season after going 1-3 against the Giants and split the first two games with the Braves. They are ranked 7th in the league allowing 0.6 home runs per game. The Nats will start Josiah Gray tonight who is 0.1 for the season and have a 9.00 ERA. Washington has lost 21 of the last 31 games against teams with a losing record and 6 of the last 7 as road underdogs. The Braves have won 14 of the last 19 home games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Atlanta Braves (-220)

Houston Astros @ Arizona Diamondbacks – 3:40PM ET

The Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks will be playing the second game of their quick two game series in this one. In game number one it was the Astros who got the 2-1 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros are coming into this matchup with a record of 4-1 on the season as they have gotten off to a fast start this season. They will be looking to sweep the series in this one as this game is only a quick two game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Astros are still trying to shake off the stigma of the cheating scandal from their 2019 World Series victory. Taking the mound for them in this one is going to be Framber Valdez who is 1-0 this season and a 0.00 Earned Run Average.

The Arizona Diamondbacks are coming into this one with a record of 1-4 on the season. They are off to a terrible start this season and will be looking to avoid getting swept in this game against the Houston Astros. Taking the mound for the Diamondbacks in this game is going to be Merrill Kelly who has made an appearance already this season. He threw 4 innings and gave zero runs and had seven strikeouts as well. However I look for his zero Earned Run Average to go away in this one as I have the Houston Astros getting the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-158)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros and Arizona Diamondbacks will play Game 2 of their short two game series on Wednesday at Chase Field in Arizona. The Astros got off to a hot start in their opening series against their division rival Angels, winning three of four and are looking to keep the great start going and set them up for another nice playoff run this year. The Diamondbacks had the exact opposite happen in their opening series, losing three straight after getting the Opening Day win.

The Houston Astros have a much better team and much bigger goals than Arizona and should be able to take care of business in this one. Framber Valdez pitched a gem in his first start of the year going 6 ⅔ innings without giving up a run to a loaded Angels lineup. The Diamondbacks don’t present nearly as much of a threat so he won’t have problems shutting them down as well and leading Houston to the victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-158)

Marko Nadin

The Arizona Diamondbacks started the season with a 4-2 win over the San Diego Padres and have lost the next 4 games, three to the Padres and 2-1 in the last one to the Houston Astros. The Diamondbacks are the worst team in the league scoring only 2.2 runs per game so far in the season. They will start Merrill Kelly tonight who was 7-11 last season with 4.44 ERA.

The Houston Astros are 4-1 in the season so far after going 3-1 against the Los Angeles Angels and winning the first game against the Diamondbacks. The Astros are second in the league averaging 2.06 home runs per game and rank fifth with 7.46 strikeouts per game. The Astros will start Framber Valdez tonight who is 1-0 for the season. Houston has won 4 of the last 5 games against Arizona and has also won the last 4 second games of a series and 4 of the last 5 road games. The Diamondbacks have lost 10 of the last 14 second games of a series and 19 of the last 26 interleague games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-158)

San Diego Padres @ San Francisco Giants – 3:45PM ET

The San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants will be playing the final game of their three game set in this. In game number one the Padres got a 4-2 victory, in game number two it was the Giants who got the win 13-2.

Tony Battalio

The San Diego Padres were hammered in game two of this series as they lost 13-2 on Tuesday evening. Now they will be looking to win the series heading into game three as it is split one win to one win. The Padres were likely to have a rough start to the season as they are without their superstar Fernando Tatis Junior and will be until mid May or June at the earliest. The Padres now come into this deciding game with a record of 4-2 on the season. Taking the mound for them in this one is going to be Sean Manea who is already 1-0 on the season and struck out 7 hitters over 7 innings pitched.

The San Francisco Giants will be looking to follow up the win on Tuesday with a series clinching win on Wednesday before heading to Cleveland for a three game stretch with the Guardians. The Giants are coming into this game with a record of 3-2 on the season. Taking the mound for them will be Logan Webb. He has already made a start this season where he went 6 innings in a No Decision and has an Earned Run Average of 1.50 and 3 strikeouts. As for the result of this game, I have the San Diego Padres getting the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: San Diego Padres (+114)

Jeffery Thomas

It’s been an even split for the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants so far in this three-game series. The Giants had a quiet night at the dish in Game 1, only scoring 2 runs but bounced back in a big way with over 10 in Wednesday’s game. It was a great first start of the year for Alex Cobb, who only allowed 2 runs in 5 innings of work and struck out 10 batters. Yu Darvish had a tough day at the office on the other side, who allowed 9 runs in just 1 ⅔ innings of work.

The Giants were finally able to wake up offensively on Tuesday but I believe it was an outlier against a pitcher just having an off night. They had only scored over 3 runs in one game before this last one and I think they’ll get back to their regular offense on Wednesday in what will be a pitching duel between Logan Webb and Sean Manaea. Give me the under as runs will be at a premium here.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Under 7.5 (-122)

Marko Nadin

The San Francisco Giants destroyed the San Diego Padres in the second game of the series winning by 13-2 after losing 4-2 in the first one. That was the Giants third win in five games so far this season after going 2-1 against Miami. The Giants are ranked seventh in the league allowing 0.73 home runs per game. The Giants have won 5 of the last 8 games against the Padres. They will start Logan Webb tonight who was 11-3 last season with a 3.03 ERA.

The San Diego Padres are 4-2 for the season winning 3 of 4 in the series against Arizona and splitting the first two games against the Giants. They will start Sean Manaea tonight who is 1-0 for the season. The Padres have won 4 of the last 5 games against NL West teams and 4 of the last 5 road games. The Giants have won the last 6 games with the total set at 11.0 or higher and 24 of the last 33 third games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: San Francisco (-134)

Oakland Athletics @ Tampa Bay Rays – 6:40PM ET

The Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays will be playing game number three of their four game set in this one. In game number one it was an easy win for Oakland. In game number two it was the Rays who got a thrilling 9-8 win.

Tony Battalio

The Oakland Athletics had a fire sale before the Major League Baseball season began. As it is clear they weren’t going to be able to hold onto their big money players once their contract came up. Now they come into this game against the Tampa Bay Rays knotted at one a piece with two games to go in the series. They will look to jump into a 2-1 series lead in this one. As they have Frankie Montas taking the mound for them in this game. Montas has a record of 0-1 on the season with a nine run Earned Run Average in five innings pitched.

The Tampa Bay Rays have one of the best young teams in Major League Baseball coming into this season. With Randy Arozarena and Wander Franco the sky’s the limit for the Tampa Bay Rays this season. They come into this game with a record of 4-1 through their first five games of the season. Now they will be looking to take a 2-1 lead in this four game set against the Oakland Athletics after winning 9-8 in thrilling fashion on Tuesday. As for the result of this game I have the Tampa Bay Rays picking up the win over the Oakland Athletics.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-184)

Jeffery Thomas

The Oakland Athletics and Tampa Bay Rays will be playing Game 3 of their four game series on Wednesday after a competitive extra innings game on Tuesday. The Rays made a comeback in the bottom of the 10th inning to pull off the victory, their third of the season. The As could only get one game from their opening series against the Philadelphia Phillies, but have given Tampa Bay all they can handle so far in this series, winning the first game 13-2 before pushing them to the limit on Tuesday. The rosters have a big talent gap but the fight in Oakland is very admirable.

Tampa Bay had their bats wake up on Tuesday after only getting 2 runs in this Monday matchup and I think it continues on Wednesday. The As are sending out Frankie Montas who is 0-1 on the year with a 9.00 ERA after getting roughed up by the Phillies in his first outing. The Rays possess similar left-handed power threats in their lineup and should be able to feast on him and put up a good amount of runs. That’s why I’m taking the Tampa Bay team total as I see them easily getting 5 or more.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays over 4 Runs (-118)

Marko Nadin

The Tampa Bay Rays have started the season with a 4-1 record after sweeping the Baltimore Orioles and splitting the first two games against Oakland. The Rays won the last one 9-8with Manuel Margot hitting a game winning RBI in the 10th inning. The Athletics started the game with 3 runs in the opening inning and scored first in the 10th. The Rays will start Shane McClanahan who is 10-6 in his first two seasons in the league with a 3.31 ERA.

The Oakland Athletics are 2-3 for the season after winning one game in the series against Philadelphia and Tampa Bay. They are currently third in the league with 6.35 runs per game. Oakland will start Frankie Montas who is 0.1 for the season with a 9.00 ERA. Oakland has won 6 of the last 8 games with the total set at 11.0 or higher but have lost 7 of the last 10 road games. The Rays have won 42 of the last 57 games as favourites.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-184)

Toronto Blue Jays @ New York Yankees – 7:05PM ET

The Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees will be playing game number three of their four game set in this one. In game number one it was a win for Toronto. In game number two it was the Yankees who got the 4-0 victory to take a 2-1 lead in the series.

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to force a split in this four game series against the New York Yankees with a victory in this one. While the Yankees will be looking to lock up the series by going up 3-1. Toronto opened up the series with a win but the Yankees have now taken the last two on Monday and Tuesday, as Tuesday’s game was a 4-0 win for the Bronx Bombers. Both teams come into this game with identical 3-2 records on the season as they will be looking to get three upper hand.

This one is sure to be an exciting pitching matchup as it will be Toronto’s Jose Berrios vs the Yankees ace Gerrit Cole. Both are coming into his game with 0-0 records on the season after one start. Berrios only lasted long enough to record a single out in his debut and now he sports a 108.00 Earned Run Average. While Cole only lasted 4 frames and has an Earned Run Average of 6.75. As for the result of this game I’m taking the Toronto Blue Jays to get the victory over the New York Yankees to end the series with a 2-2 split.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (+130)

Jeffery Thomas

The Toronto Blue Jays and New York Yankees will play game 3 of a four-game set Wednesday night after the Yankees evened up the series at one a piece on Tuesday. It was an impressive effort by the Yankees pitching staff to keep the dangerous Blue Jays off the scoreboard winning 4-0 and only allowing 5 hits. Aaron Hicks got the scoring started with a 2-run homerun in the second inning and the Yankees never looked back. Both teams now have a record of 3-2, a 0.5 game behind the first-place Tampa Bay Rays who are 3-1.

The Blue Jays are going back to number 1 pitcher Jose Berrios in this one after he couldn’t even make it out of the first inning against the Texas Rangers on Opening Day. Gerrit Cole was also batted around on Opening Day and only lasted 4 innings. I feel like with both pitchers coming off shaky performances and now going against scary lineups we are set up for a high-scoring affair so I like a play on the over in this game

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Over 8.5 Runs (-114)

Marko Nadin

The New York Yankees are 3-2 in the season after splitting the series against the Blue Jays losing the first one 3-0 and winning 4-0 in the last one. The Yankees are ninth in the league so far with 1.25 home runs per game. The Yankees will start Gerrit Cole tonight who started in only one game last season with a 6.75 ERA.

The Blue Jays are also 3-2 to start the season after going 2-1 in the opening round against the Texas Rangers. Toronto scores and allows 5.75 runs so far in the season which ranked them 5th offensively and 27th defensively. They will start Jose Berrios tonight who played in only one game last season with a 108 ERA. Toronto has won 6 of the last 10 games against the Yankees. They have won the last 6 games as road underdog, 12 of the last 15 games on grass and 10 of the last 13 third games of the series. The Yankees have won 7 of the last 8 games with the total set at 9.0-10.5 and 5 of the last 6 games against a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30.

Marko’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-154)
