Anthony Rizzo will be looking to extend his 17-game on-base streak as the New York Yankees (46-38) host the Baltimore Orioles (49-33) at Yankee Stadium on Monday for the first of a four-game series.
The Orioles are playing their first of seven games on the road after closing out a nine-game homestand (4-5). They won only one out of three in their last series against the Twins, taking the finale 2-1 on Sunday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Anthony Santander was 1 for 3 with one run.
The Yankees are back home for a seven-game homestand after returning from a six-game road trip (3-3). They lost three of four against the Cardinals in their last series, dropping the finale 5-1 on Sunday at Busch Stadium. Jake Bauers went 1 for 3 with a double and one RBI.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
The AL East rivals have split their games this season 3-3, as the Orioles evened the season series with a 3-1 victory in their most recent meeting on May 25 at Yankee Stadium. Starter Kyle Gibson threw seven scoreless innings to get the win, and Yennier Cano pitched the ninth to earn his fourth save.
