The Pittsburgh Pirates (34-34) are on the road to face the Milwaukee Brewers (35-34) at American Family Field on Saturday. The Brewers took Friday’s series opener 5-4.
Julio Teheran went six innings, giving up two runs on one hit, to get the win, and Devin Williams picked up his 11th save with a scoreless ninth.
Blake Perkins went 2 for 3 with one run and two RBIs in the win. Carlos Santana was 2 for 4 with a home run and two runs for the Pirates.
ON THE MOUND
Rich Hill (6-6, 4.23 ERA) is slated to take the mound for Pittsburgh. The Southpaw takes on the Brewers in back-to-back starts. He allowed four runs (three earned) over five innings on Friday, a 5-4 road defeat.
He took the loss, giving up three hits while striking out five and walking six. LHP Wade Miley (3-2, 3.60 ERA) will take the mound for Milwaukee.
It’s his first appearance of the season against the Pirates. Miley made two appearances against the Pirates in 2022, both as the starter, striking out nine and walking one over 11 innings (1-1, 0.82).
In his last start on May 16, Miley took a no-decision on the road against the Cardinals. He threw 1.2 innings and gave up one run on one hit, walking one, in the 3-2 win.
