Two of the least productive offenses in MLB are set to face off at Angel Stadium of Anaheim on Monday as the Detroit Tigers (51-83) are on the road to face the Los Angeles Angels (58-76) to open a three-game series. The Tigers are playing their first of six games on the road after wrapping up a rough six-game homestand (1-5). They won only one out of three in their last series against the Royals, dropping the finale 3-2 on Sunday at Comerica Park. Harold Castro was 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs. The Angels are kicking off the final series of their nine-game homestand. They lost two of three against the Astros in their last series, dropping the finale 9-1 on Sunday at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. Mike Trout went 1 for 4 with a solo home run.
HEAD TO HEAD
The Tigers have won two of three in the season series between the teams, including a 4-0 victory in their most recent meeting on August 21 at Comerica Park. Eduardo Rodriguez threw five scoreless innings- striking out five – to get the win.
