Tampa Bay Rays @ Minnesota Twins – 1:10PM ET

Tampa Bay will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Minnesota on Tuesday night and wrap up this series on a positive note on Wednesday afternoon. Tampa Bay had a historic start to the season, but that is a pace that they were unable to maintain, and now they find themselves staring up at the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East division coming down the final stretch of the season. Tampa Bay comes into the finale of this series with a record of 89-57 through their first 146 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They are currently three games out of first place in the division. 

Minnesota has been getting red hot at the right time and they are absolutely running away with the American League Central division at this point in the season. With another strong performance in the finale of this series, on Wednesday afternoon, they can take a massive step in the right direction and get even closer to clinching the American League Central division, and securing themselves a spot in the postseason. They will be looking to wrap up this series against Tampa Bay with a victory and that is exactly what I expect as I have Minnesota grabbing the win here in this one.

Chicago Cubs @ Colorado Rockies – 3:10PM ET

It was a slow start to the season for the Chicago Cubs and just when all looked lost for the franchise. They picked it up and got hot over the summer. They are now right in the middle of playoff contention in the National League and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in the finale of this series against the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday afternoon on the road. Chicago currently occupies one of the three wild card spots in the National League but they are still within striking distance of the national league division title as well. As they are less than four games out of first place behind the Milwaukee Brewers, and they will be looking to make up the difference with a victory over Colorado here in this one.

It has been a long season for the Colorado Rockies, and it is just the beginning of a long and lengthy rebuilding era for this franchise. They have been one of the worst teams in all of baseball this season, and it does not help their case that they play in one of the toughest divisions in all of baseball as well. They will likely lose over 100 games this season, unless they turn things around quickly, and that will start with grabbing a victory in the finale of this series against the Chicago Cubs on Wednesday afternoon at home. Unfortunately for the Colorado Rockies, I don’t see that happening as I have the Chicago Cubs grabbing the victory here on Wednesday afternoon to wrap up the series.

Cincinnati Reds @ Detroit Tigers – 6:40PM ET

It has been a roller coaster of a season for the Cincinnati Reds and right now their minds are focused on getting themselves back into a playoff position within the National League wildcard race. They will have some work to do coming down the final stretch of the season and they will have to get on a lengthy winning streak to close out the year if they want to cement themselves a spot in the playoffs this year. Cincinnati comes into this game with a record of 75-71 through their first 146 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They will be looking to extend their two game winning streak with another victory over the Detroit Tigers here on Wednesday night at Comerica Park.

It has been a rough season for the Detroit Tigers but they are a team that has shown a lot of progress on the rebuilding process this far. They seem to be potential contenders within the next couple of years and they will be looking to build upon the momentum from this season and roll it into next year as they look to challenge for the American League Central division once again. Just been having a rough season. They were still pretty competitive against their own division, and they will be looking to carry that success over into next season and finish this regular season strong as well. However, I have the Cincinnati Reds picking up the victory in this game on Wednesday night on the road.

New York Yankees @ Boston Red Sox – 7:10PM ET

It has been a rough season for the New York Yankees and they will be hoping to finish out the year strong and get themselves plenty of momentum before heading into next season. They will likely miss out on the playoffs unless some kind of miracle occurs within the American League wildcard race as they are currently sitting in last place in the American League East division after a rough second half of the season. The Yankees have been picking it up, coming down the final stretch of the season, but it seems as if it will be too little too late for New York as they are still nearly 8 games out of the third wildcard spot in the American League at the moment. They have won seven out of the last 10 on the year and they are currently on a two game winning streak coming into this game on Wednesday night against Boston on the road. 

It has been a very solid year for the Boston Red Sox, but they have flown too far under the radar and they will likely miss out on the playoffs this season as well. They are currently in fourth place of the American League East division, and they are on the outside looking in on the top three spots in the American League wildcard race as well. Boston comes into this game with a record of 73-71 through their first 144 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season, however, they currently find themselves as losers of six are the last 10 on the season and their last two as well as they have been struggling to pick up victory is coming down the stretch. I expect more of the same here, and this one, as I look for the New York Yankees to grab the victory in the third game of this series.

Miami Marlins @ Milwaukee Brewers – 7:40PM ET

It has been a roller coaster of a season for the Miami Marlins, and they will be looking to stay the course coming down the final few weeks of the season as they look to make their first playoff appearance in quite a while. They had a fantastic first half of the season, but coming out of the All-Star break the team absolutely fell off of a cliff and had a massive losing streak that I put them on the outside looking in coming into this game on Wednesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers. However, they are less than two games out of the third wildcard spot in the National League, which will be the tightest playoff race coming down to the end of the season this year. Miami will need to pick up a victory in this game to keep themselves on pace with the other teams in the National League wildcard race.

It has been a successful season from the Milwaukee Brewers as they come into this game leading the National League Central division heading into the final few weeks of the year. They will be looking to put some more distance between themselves, the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds with a victory here on Wednesday night at home against the Miami Marlins. They have built up a comfortable lead for themselves as they currently possess a four game lead over the Chicago Cubs in the National League Central division, and I expect them to pick up a victory here in this game as they look to extend that lead as well.
