Miami Marlins @ New York Mets – 4:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Miami Marlins come in the game number two of this series against the New York Mets on Saturday looking to grab their first win of this three-game weekend series. This is their second series against the New York Mets this season and they have struggled with them thus far this year. The Miami Marlins have now lost four out of five games for the New York Mets to open up the season and with the new balanced schedule it makes it that much worse. Instead of playing 19 games, a season against divisional opponents they are only playing 13. Which means another loss will already put the Miami Marlins on the verge of losing the tiebreaker to the New York Mets this season. They will absolutely need to bounce back in game two of the series on Saturday.

The New York Mets just continued rolling against the Miami Marlins the season as they picked up their fourth win in five games against Miami to open up the year. It’ll be Trevor Rodgers on the mound for the Miami Marlins on Saturday while Kodai Senga takes the mound for the New York Mets on Saturday afternoon. Both will be making their second appearance of the season for their respective teams. I expect a similar result in this one as the Marlins and Mets play the second game of this three-game weekend series. As I think the New York Mets will pick up the victory and clinch the series while heading into Sunday’s finale with the opportunity to get the three game sweep.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

NY Mets (-165)

Oakland Athletics @ Tampa Bay Rays – 4:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Oakland Athletics rough start to the season continues as they were absolutely demolished by the Tampa Bay Rays in the first game of this three game weekend series. Now Oakland will look to bounce back in game number two and even up the series heading into Sunday’s rubber match. I will give the office credit where credit is due as they did manage to get 12 hits off of Tampa Bay in Friday afternoons game. However, unfortunately for Oakland it only led to them scoring five runs, but they could not stop Tampa Bay from scoring, as Tampa Bay put up a nine spot on them on Friday.

The Tampa Bay Rays continue to roll as they remain the only undefeated team in all of baseball heading into the second Saturday of the season. They got another multi run win and have won all seven other games by two or more runs up until this point in the season. It was an offensive onslaught from the jump as they put up eight runs within the first three innings of the game on Friday afternoon. However, one concerning spot is the fact that Wander Franco did not join the party until late in the game when he hit a solo home run. I expect a similar resulting game number two of the series as I have the Tampa Bay Rays picking up another victory.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

TB Rays -1.5 (-150)

Seattle Mariners @ Cleveland Guardians – 6:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Seattle Mariners got a huge win over the Cleveland Guardians to open up this three game weekend series on Friday afternoon. They spoiled the Cleveland Guardians home opener, festivities, and returned the favor after Cleveland came to Seattle and took three out of four games to open up the season. After going down early 3-0 Seattle storm back to put up five runs and take game one of the series after a solid finish by their bullpen and their hitting. Now they will be looking to take Game number two of the series and clinch the series as well as potentially set up an opportunity to sweep Cleveland on Sunday.

The Cleveland Guardians will be looking to bounce back after blowing a huge opportunity to win game one of the series on Friday. After taking three out of four from the Seattle Mariners to open up the season, Cleveland had a chance to take their fourth game against Seattle with another win in this one during their home opener. After a somewhat solid performance by Aaron Civale, Cleveland blew a 3–0 lead, and ended up losing the game to Seattle. Now they will be looking to bounce back in game number two on Saturday afternoon. Cal Quantrill will be making his second appearance of the season for the Guardians in this one while Marco Gonzales makes his second start for Seattle. I expect the Cleveland Guardians to pick up the victory here in game two of the series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians (-140)

St.Louis Cardinals @ Milwaukee Brewers – 7:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The St. Louis Cardinals had a rough time with the Milwaukee Brewers during game one of the series, and now they will be looking to bounce back and pick up the victory here on Saturday. The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the presumable favorites in the National League Central division and winning games like these are super important to the success of their 2023 season. So they will have to bounce back and grab a win over Milwaukee here in game number two. They will be looking to get on the board and this one after being shut out on Friday.

The Milwaukee Brewers come into game number two of the series on Saturday looking to clinch the series after their shut out victory over St. Louis on Friday. Brandon Woodruff had a solid performance on Friday, as he went 5 1/3 innings and struck out four Cardinals hitters in route to leading Milwaukee to a victory. Now, Eric Lauer will be making his second appearance of the season for Milwaukee on Saturday looking to clinch the series. Meanwhile, Jack Montgomery makes the start for St. Louis, and he is looking to help the Cardinals even up the series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Milwaukee Brewers (+135)

Washington Nationals @ Colorado Rockies – 8:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Washington Nationals had a solid offensive performance in game number one of the series against the Colorado Rockies on Friday evening. Now they will be looking to grab a victory in game number two and clinch the series as well as set up the potential for a sweep in the third game of the series in Sunday’s finale. Washington desperately needed a victory after a terrible start of the season and they got one and they looked great doing so as well. They scored double digit runs against Colorado in game number one to pick up the victory.

The Colorado Rockies will be looking to bounce back after their game one loss to the Washington Nationals on Friday. They will be hoping that their game against Washington here on Saturday will be a lot closer than the five run loss that they suffered on Friday evening. Colorado struggled to keep Washington off the board early as the Nationals scored 2 runs in four of the first five innings of the game. A late comeback attempt fell well short for the Rockies as well as they could only muster to score 5 runs the entire game. However, I expect Colorado to even up the series here in game number two with a solid victory.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Colorado Rockies (-145)
