Cincinnati Reds @ Milwaukee Brewers – 2:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Cincinnati Reds have arguably exceeded expectations this season, but they did have a slow start to the year prior to calling up Elly De La Cruz a couple months ago. Now they look like a legitimate contender in the National League and they have a solid shot to win the National League Central division at the end of the regular season. They have been battling back-and-forth with the Milwaukee Brewers over the past couple of weeks which makes this series between these two teams that much more important as both teams will be battling to earn the all-important tiebreaker over the other. Cincinnati picked up a big win on Tuesday night and they will be looking to grab another victory on Wednesday night.

The Milwaukee Brewers will be looking to wrap up this series with the Cincinnati Reds with a victory here on Wednesday afternoon at home. Milwaukee and Cincinnati are deadlocked for first place in the National League Central division at the moment and this series will go a long way to potentially determining who brings home the division title, and get an automatic playoff berth this season. The Milwaukee Brewers will be looking to bounce back in the finale of this three game series on Wednesday afternoon. However, I do not see it happening as I look for the Cincinnati Reds to pick up the victory here on Wednesday afternoon to wrap up this series and take two out of three games from the Brewers.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cincinnati Reds (+120)

St.Louis Cardinals @ Arizona Diamondbacks – 3:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a rough season for the St. Louis Cardinals, and they will be looking to gain some momentum with a victory in the finale of this series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday afternoon. St. Louis had some high expectations coming into the season as they were expected to compete for the National League Central division title, and potentially become a legitimate contender to bring home the National League pennant as well. However, that hasn’t been the case and they are well under .500 coming into the third and final game of the series and they will have plenty of work to do if they wanna get themselves back into the playoff picture.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have been a solid team this season, and they have their sights set on making a playoff appearance at the end of the year. They have competed for the National League West division title up until this point of the year and they currently sit in second place just a handful of games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers. They will be looking to grab a victory in the finale of this series against the Cardinals to tighten the gap with them and Los Angeles coming down the stretch run of the season. I expect Arizona to have a quality showing in the finale of this series and pick up a comfortable victory over the St. Louis Cardinals here on Wednesday afternoon at home.

Arizona D-Backs (-155)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ San Diego Padres – 4:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Pittsburgh Pirates had a solid start to the season, but they came crashing back down to reality very quickly. They will be looking to grab some momentum in the finale of the series against the San Diego Padres on Wednesday afternoon at Petco Park. The Pirates are currently treading water and well under .500 in the National League Central division and they are a long way away from competing for a playoff spot. After winning 22 of their first 30 games of the season, nobody could’ve imagined that they would be in this position just a couple of months later. But they were unable to remain consistent, and now they find themselves headed towards yet another losing season and another month of October spent on the couch instead of in the postseason.

The San Diego Padres are also another team that came into the season with plenty of expectations, but they haven’t quite lived up to those expectations yet. Last year at the trade deadline San Diego loaded up and went all in for an opportunity to win the World Series and it didn’t pan out. This year at the trade deadline they look dead in the water and at the moment they are expected to miss out on the postseason altogether. They come into the finale this season under .500 and they will be looking to close out this series with another victory here on Wednesday afternoon as they look to get themselves back into the conversation to make the playoffs this season.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

SD Padres -1.5 (-110)

Baltimore Orioles @ Philadelphia Phillies – 6:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Baltimore Orioles will be looking to wrap up this three game interleague series with a victory over the Philadelphia Phillies here on Wednesday night. After winning the opening game of the series on Monday night, Baltimore was unable to make it to consecutive victories against Philadelphia as they lost a one run game on Tuesday night by a score of 4-3. Now they will be looking to bounce back here on Wednesday’s finale and take a tour of three games from the Philadelphia Phillies. After their close loss on Tuesday night I expect Baltimore to come out in this game with a fire restart as they look to take two out of three from Philadelphia and extend their lead in the American League East division as well.

Philadelphia had a miraculous run to the National League pennant last season and they will be looking to get things together and get ready to make another run this season. They came into the year with plenty of expectations, but they haven’t quite lived up to those expectations at the moment. After a mind blowing performance in the world baseball classic Trea Turner looked like an MVP candidate, but he has been a disappointment throughout the year. Philadelphia will be looking to capitalize off of the momentum they gained from their victory over Baltimore on Tuesday night to take two out of three games from one of the top teams in all of baseball this season. However, I don’t see that happening as I think Baltimore picks up the victory here on Wednesday afternoon to wrap up this series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles (+100)

Chicago Cubs @ Chicago White Sox – 8:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Chicago Cubs are having a rough season and they will be looking to grab some momentum with a victory over their crosstown rivals in this game on Wednesday night against the Chicago White Sox. Chicago comes into this game out of playoff contention in the National League Central division and it makes it that much worse because the National League Central division has been one of the worst divisions in baseball this season. They are currently two games below .500 with a record of 49-51 after they picked up a victory over the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday night. Now they will be looking to complete the sweep of the Chicago White Sox with a second consecutive victory in this short two game series on Wednesday night.

The Chicago White Sox had a lot of expectations coming into the season, but they haven’t lived up to those expectations. They are treading water in the American League Central division, and it has been the worst division in all of baseball this season, which makes their lack of success that much worse. They will be looking to bounce back in the finale of this quick two game series against the Chicago Cubs here on Wednesday night. However, with Marcus Stroman taking the mound for the Chicago Cubs I don’t see that happening as I think the Cubs will grab a comfortable victory over the White Sox for the second night in a row.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Chicago Cubs (-120)
