Chicago Cubs @ Detroit Tigers – 1:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

Chicago will be looking to bounce back after dropping the second game of the series against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night in a high scoring contest. They have been playing solid baseball as of late as they made a ton of ground up on the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Central division, and they will be looking to keep the momentum rolling with another victory here, and Wednesday’s series finale. Chicago comes into this game with a record of 65-60 through their first 125 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season and they will be looking to wrap up this series against Detroit with another victory before heading into the weekend.

It was a solid victory for the Detroit Tigers in the second game of the series against the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday evening. Now they will be looking to replicate that performance on Wednesday afternoon as they look to take two out of three games from a solid Chicago team that is playing like one of the best teams in baseball at the moment. Detroit is having a lackluster season at the moment but somehow they still find themselves within striking distance of first place in the American League Central division if they go on a run to cap off the regular season. Unfortunately for the Detroit Tigers, I don’t see them grabbing a victory in this game as I have the Chicago Cubs wrapping up this series with a victory.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Chicago Cubs (+100)

San Francisco Giants @ Philadelphia Phillies – 4:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The San Francisco Giants will be looking to bounce back in the finale of their series against the Philadelphia Phillies here on Wednesday afternoon after dropping a game to Philadelphia on Tuesday. Both of these teams are right in the race for the National League wild card, and both of them will likely end up pushing the other one out of a spot when the regular season comes to an end and I could even meet back up in the playoffs as well. San Francisco will need to pick up a victory to avoid being swept in this three-game series here on Wednesday as they have looked rough throughout the first two games of the series thus far.

Philadelphia will be looking to complete the three game series sweep with another victory over the San Francisco Giants here on Wednesday afternoon at home. After a less than impressive performance against the Washington Nationals last weekend, Philadelphia has bounced back in a big way and gotten themselves plenty of momentum heading into next weekend. I expect them to have another stellar performance in the third and final game of the series on Wednesday afternoon and pick up their third consecutive victory over the San Francisco Giants as their solid run of play continues.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Philadelphia Phillies (-135)

Miami Marlins @ San Diego Padres – 4:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Miami Marlins jumped out to a solid lead against the San Diego Padres in the second game of the series on Tuesday evening. They will be looking to do the same here on Wednesday and wrap up this series with the San Diego Padres on a positive note before heading into the weekend. Every game for the Miami Marlins feels like a must win game from here on out after the way that they performed for the first couple of weeks following the All-Star break. As they basically took themselves out of contention for the National League wildcard race with a lengthy, losing streak straight out of the All-Star break, and they are still looking to get back on track at the moment.

It has been an awful season for San Diego, and they just cannot seem to find any type of footing even with the season quickly coming to an end. It seems more and more likely with each passing loss that they will certainly miss out on the postseason this year, after having high hopes coming into the season. It is also pretty likely that they will have some type of sale over the off-season and offload some of their big money players, like Juan Soto, who was rumored to be traded at the deadline, but a deal never came to fruition. Unfortunately for San Diego I don’t see them picking up a victory in the finale of this series against Miami as I think the Marlins will grab yet another win over the Padres here on Wednesday afternoon at Petco Park.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Miami Marlins (+105)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Baltimore Orioles – 7:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays picked up a solid victory in extra innings over the Baltimore Orioles in their game on Tuesday night. Now the Toronto Blue Jays will be looking to replicate that performance here on Wednesday night and gain even more ground on the Orioles for first place in the American League East division. Toronto has been playing solid baseball as of late as they are currently on a three game winning streak, which they will be looking to extend even further with another victory here on Wednesday night against Baltimore. Toronto will also be looking to clinch the series with another victory here in this one and set up the possibility to sweep Baltimore in Thursday’s finale.

Baltimore will be looking to bounce back after their extra innings loss to the Toronto Blue Jays on Tuesday night and even up the series before heading into the finale on Thursday afternoon. They will also be looking to take their game back, and re-increase their lead in the American League East division and put some more distance between themselves and the Tampa Bay Rays with the season quickly winding down. Baltimore has been a very resilient team, all season long as they always seem to bounce back from losses and that is exactly what I expect them to do here on Wednesday night against the Blue Jays.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles (+105)

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Cleveland Guardians – 7:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Dodgers had a fantastic start to the game on Tuesday night against the Cleveland Guardians, but they were unable to maintain that start. Now they will be looking to bounce back in the second game of this three game interleague series on Wednesday night and even up the series before heading into Thursdays finale in Cleveland. Now, Los Angeles will be looking to recover and pitch a lot better after they gave up eight runs to a struggling Cleveland lineup in the opening game of the series on Tuesday night. Luckily for Los Angeles they are so far ahead in the division at the moment, that they can afford to lose a couple games here and there, but it will hurt them in their chase for the top seed in the National League.

The Cleveland Guardians had a furious comeback in Tuesday night’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers and picked up what felt like a much needed victory in a must win game. Now Cleveland will be looking to pick up their second consecutive victory of the series against Los Angeles here on Wednesday night and officially clinch the series before heading into Thursday’s finale. Cleveland will be desperate to continue gaining ground on Minnesota in the American League Central division so taking a series from the Dodgers would be a massive step in the right direction. I expect Cleveland to grab a second consecutive victory off of Los Angeles here in this one.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians (+170)
