Detroit Tigers @ Houston Astros – 2:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Tigers have looked solid throughout the first two games of the series against the Houston Astros, and now they will be looking to complete the three game series sweep here on Wednesday afternoon. After an 0-3 start to the 2023 Major League Baseball season Detroit has bounced back in a nice way, and now have the opportunity to even up the record before heading into the second weekend of the year. Eduardo Rodriguez will be making his second start of the season for the Detroit Tigers in this one, and looking to grab his first victory of the season as well after being roughed up by the Tampa Bay Rays last time out.

It’s been a rough series for defending world champions, as they have yet to pick up a victory over what is considerably one of the worst teams in baseball. As Houston has been absolutely, pushed around and dominated by the Detroit Tigers throughout the first two games of this three-game series. However, the tide could possibly be changing as Houston will send Christian Javier to the mound for this third and final game on Wednesday afternoon. He had a solid start to the season in his first appearance, despite racking up a no decision against the Chicago White Sox. I expect the Houston Astros to get their first win of the series here in game number three.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Houston Astros -1.5 (-115)

San Francisco Giants @ Chicago White Sox – 2:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The San Francisco Giants picked up the victory in game number one of the series against the Chicago White Sox on Monday afternoon. The game wasn’t even that close as San Francisco scored 12 runs and held Chicago to three runs. Now they will be looking to pick up victory number two and clinch the series before heading into the finale on Thursday with the potential of getting a three-game series sweep. Logan Webb will be making his second start of the season for the San Francisco Giants in this one and his first outing against the New York Yankees didn’t go as he would’ve hoped. So he will be looking to use this opportunity to get his season back on track in his second appearance of the year.

The Chicago White Sox I’ve had a rough start to the season as they faced arguably two of the best teams in all of baseball as they opened up the year with the Houston Astros and now they play the San Francisco Giants. They are coming into this one sitting at one game under .500 through their first five games of the season and they will be looking to even up their record in this one with a victory against San Francisco, and make the finale on Thursday a winner take all for the series as well. They struggled to stop the San Francisco Giants from scoring runs during Monday’s game and that is something they will have to clean up in this one if they wanna get the victory. That shouldn’t be a problem because Dylan Cease is making his second appearance of the season, and he looked absolutely incredible during his season opener against the Houston Astros. That is why I’m taking Chicago to get the victory as well.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Chicago White Sox (-135)

Cleveland Guardians @ Oakland Athletics – 3:37PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Cleveland Guardians in the Oakland Athletics have had a very competitive series throughout the first two games. Both teams have won a game each and both of them have come down to the wire. In game number one it was an epic comeback from the Cleveland Guardians to get the victory in extra innings, and in game number two it looked like Cleveland was heading for the third consecutive extra innings game as well. However, Tony Kemp walked it off for the Oakland Athletics and Oakland even up to Siri now they have an opportunity to take the series here in game number three. Cleveland’s offense has been surprisingly productive earlier in the season and they will have to score some more runs in this one if they want to get the victory and leave Oakland with two wins in three games.

The Oakland Athletics had a rough start to the season, but they have looked solid in the first couple games of this series, despite them blowing a massive lead on Monday evening. They played a great game yesterday, and Tony Kemp was the hero for Oakland in the bottom of the ninth and now they will be looking to grab their second consecutive win against Cleveland on Wednesday night. Hunter Gaddis will be taking them out for his second start of the season for the Cleveland Guardians and his last time out, he had a rough start but eventually calmed down throughout the middle of the game. Meanwhile, for the Oakland Athletics, it’ll be Kyle Muller, making his second appearance of the season. I think it’ll be the Cleveland Guardians that grab the victory in this one to wrap up the series against Oakland and return home with two series victories to open up the year.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cleveland Guardians (-125)

Los Angeles Angels @ Seattle Mariners – 4:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Angels are having a decent start to the season and they will look to keep it going in this third and final game against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday afternoon. Heading into the third game of the series. Both Los Angeles and Seattle have picked up a victory over the last two days. Now the winner of game number three will also win the series and it should be a good one here on Wednesday. Shohei Ohtani will be on the mound for Los Angeles, and Chris Flexen will be on the mound for Seattle. So that instantly gives the advantage to the Los Angeles Angels, because they have one of the best players in baseball starting this game for them.

The Seattle Mariners put up 11 runs last night against the Los Angeles Angels, but it might be fair to say that that probably is not going to happen here on Wednesday with Shohei Ohtani on the mound. Seattle will have to find a way to score a couple runs and keep Los Angeles off the board if they want to grab their second and the most decisive victory in the series. This should be a solid back-and-forth game, but in the end, I think it will be the Los Angeles Angels, who get the convincing victory over the Seattle Mariners with a great performance from Ohtani.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

LA Angels (-175)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Kansas City Royals – 7:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Toronto Blue Jays got themselves a much-needed victory in the second game of the series yesterday after dropping game one on Monday. Now they will be looking to pick up the victory here in game number three of this four-game series against the Kansas City Royals. It has been a slow start to the season for a Toronto team that a lot of people have picked to potentially win the American League pennant this season. However, with it being baseball and then playing 162 games, being one game under .500 through the first five games of the season has nothing to panic about. Although it could be much worse as Kansas City has only managed to pick up one victory through their first five games of the season as well.

The Kansas City Royals have a huge opportunity to clinch, at least a share of this series against what is likely going to end up being one of the best teams in baseball by the time the season is over. They got a dominant win in game number one of the series but they looked rough yesterday in game number two and now they will be looking to bounce back in game number three. Taking the mound for Kansas City in this one will be Zach Greinke who is scheduled to make his second start of the season and he is going up against Alek Manoah who is also scheduled to make his second start of the season. I have the Toronto Blue Jays picking up the victory in this game on Wednesday evening.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Toronto Blue Jays (-185)
