Tampa Bay Rays @ Baltimore Orioles – 7:05PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles will be playing the second game of their four game weekday series in this one. These two American League East teams have met four times already this year. The Tampa Bay Rays currently lead the season series seven games to five. In game number one it was Baltimore who got the win.

The Baltimore Orioles got a big win on Monday night as they beat the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of five to one. It was a slow start to the game as both teams were tied at one heading into the fifth inning but then Baltimore busted it open with four runs in the bottom of the fifth. The score remained the same for the remainder of the baseball game and the Orioles would go on to get a huge American League East division win. Now Baltimore comes into game two of this series with a record of 48-48 through their first 96 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. 

The Tampa Bay Rays will be looking to bounce back in game two of this series after their loss on Monday. They will certainly need more offensive production in game number two as well, as they only managed to score a single run in game number one. Despite the loss the Tampa Bay Rays are still in a great position as they come into the second game of this series with a record of 52-44 through their first 96 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. I have them winning game two of this series.

The Baltimore Orioles are continuing to show their improvement this season and got a huge 5-1 division win on Monday over the Tampa Bay Rays. This win was thanks in large part to the four-run 5th inning by the Os that all got started by Ryan Mountcastle’s tiebreaking two-run double. The Rays left a total of 10 men on base in this game and will be hoping to cash in those opportunities as this series progresses. Tampa’s starter Shane McClanahan will be hoping for that too, to give him some run support in his start on Tuesday even though he may not need much with how he is performing. 

Shane has been dominant all season, only allowing over 2 runs in an outing twice all years and I expect him to come out and limit the Baltimore offense in a big way. That will allow his Rays to get back in the win column and snap this three-game losing streak.

The Baltimore Orioles are at the bottom of the AL East with a 48-48 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 5-1 win in the series opener against the Rays. The Orioles are 21st in the league scoring 4.27 runs per game and are ranked 14th in the league allowing 4.34 runs per game. Baltimore will start Spenser Watkins tonight who is 3-1 for the season with a 3.93 ERA. The Orioles have won 9 of the last 12 home games and 6 of the last 7 games against left-handed starters.

The Tampa Bay Rays are third in the AL East with a 52-44 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently on a three-game losing streak. The Rays are 22nd in the league scoring 4.22 runs per game and are ranked 6th in the league allowing 3.97 runs per game. Tampa Bay will start Shane McClanahan tonight who is 10-3 for the season with a 1.71 ERA. The Rays have won 8 of the last 10 games against AL East opponents and 15 of the last 22 games played on Tuesday.

Cleveland Guardians @ Boston Red Sox – 7:10PM ET

The Cleveland Guardians and Boston Red Sox will be playing the second game of their four game weekday series in this one. These two American League teams have met one time already this year. The Boston Red Sox currently lead the season series three games to zero. In game number one the Boston Red Sox got the win.

Despite grabbing an early 1-0 lead the Cleveland Guardians would go on to lose game one of their series against the Boston Red Sox. After a successful start to the second half of the 2022 Major League Baseball season they have now lost three straight games heading into game number two of this four game weekday series. The loss drops the Cleveland Guardians record down to 48-47 through their first 95 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. 

The Boston Red Sox have absolutely dominated the Cleveland Guardians so far this season. As they have won all four games they have played against each other so far this season. Their win on Monday night at home improved their record on the season to 49-48 through their first 97 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are still struggling lately as they’ve lost eight out of their last ten games on the season.

The Boston Red Sox put an end to their five-game losing streak on Monday with a 3-1 win at Fenway Park over the Cleveland Guardians. This win keeps them just slightly ahead of the Baltimore Orioles and that last place spot in the AL East which would be just an embarrassment for a team that had so many expectations. Tuesday’s game is another opportunity to try and right the ship for Boston and it should be a very inspired team in that game. Prior to the game, Red Sox legend David Ortiz will be honored, two days after being enshrined into the baseball Hall of Fame. Guardians’ current manager Terry Francona, managed Boston and Ortiz from 2004-11 so it’s fitting that he will be in the building for the moment as well. 

I still like Cleveland in this game despite the ceremony and all that, mainly because of the pitching and injuries for Boston. Rafael Devers and Trevor Story are missing from the lineup and rookie pitcher Josh Winckowski is 0-3 with a 5.29 ERA in his last three starts. I can not trust him to get this win at home so I will be rolling with Cleveland to snap their three-game losing streak.

The Boston Red Sox are fourth in the AL East with a 49-48 record. They re coming off a 3-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians which out an end to the Red Sox’s five-game losing streak. The Red Sox are 13th in the league scoring 4.61 runs per game and are ranked 23rd in the league allowing 4.71 runs per game. Boston will start Josh Winckowski who is 3-4 for the season with a 4.38 ERA. The Red Sox have won the last 8 games against teams from the AL Central and have lost 7 of the last 9 home games against teams with a winning record.

The Cleveland Guardians are second in the AL Central with a 48-47 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are currently on a three-game losing streak. Cleveland is 16th in the league scoring 4.44 runs per game and is ranked 15th in the league allowing 4.35 runs per game. The Guardians will start Cal Quantrill tonight who is 7-5 for the season with a 3.75 ERA. Cleveland has won the last 4 second games of a series and have lost 9 of the last 12 road games.

New York Yankees @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET

The New York Yankees and New York Mets will be playing the first game of their two game series in this one. This is the first of two times they will meet this season. Both teams are currently in first place in their respective divisions.

The Subway series is back and this year might be the best year in a long time for both of these New York baseball teams. As both of them are currently in first place of the respective revisions and the Yankees case they are the best team in Major League Baseball right now. In fact the New York Yankees have been the best team in Major League Baseball for the entire season. As they come into this game with a record of 66-31 Through their first 97 games of a 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The New York Mets have been pretty consistent in their own right as they currently lead the National League East division. They come into the first game of this short two game series with a record of 59-37 through their first 96 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They currently hold a Slim two game lead over the Atlanta Braves and the division, which makes this series all that more important. However, I think the Yankees win game number one of this two game series and break the one win each tie between these two teams

The two New York teams will start up a two-game set on Tuesday that is better known as the Subway Series. It is the Mets who will be hosting the Yankees in what could possibly be a World Series preview in the making. Both teams got Monday off after winning their games on Sunday. For the Yankees it was a 6-0 win over the Baltimore Orioles, while the Mets avoided being swept by the Padres winning 8-5. Both teams are in first place of their divisions and are both seemingly headed to the postseason, which would be the first time that happened in the same season since 2015. 

Taijuan Walker (7-2 2.55 ERA) is taking the mound for the Nets against the Yankees Jordan Montgomery (3-2 3.24 ERA). The Yankees have come back down to Earth a bit but are still arguably the best team in all of baseball at the moment, while the Mets are coming in losers of three of four. I don’t see how they can turn things around enough to take down this juggernaut of a Yankees team that will surely be looking to send a message to the league that they are the team the title will go through this season.

The New York Mets are on top of the NL East with a 59-37 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 1-2 series loss to the San Diego Padres. The Mets are 6th in the league scoring 4.70 runs per game and are ranked 4th in the league allowing 3.83 runs per game. Taijuan Walker will start for the Mets tonight who is 7-2 for the season with a 2.55 ERA. The Mets have won 27 of the last 32 games when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game and 22 of the last 28 opening games od a series.

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 66-31 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Baltimore Orioles. The Yankees are on top of the league scoring 5.36 runs per game and are second in the league allowing 3.30 runs per game. The Yankees will start Jordan Montgomery tonight who is 3-2 for the season with a 3.24 ERA. They have won the last 5 interleague games against teams with a winning record and 42 of the last 58 games following a win.

Minnesota Twins @ Milwaukee Brewers – 8:10PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Milwaukee Brewers will be playing the first game of their two game series in this one. When they met earlier this month the Brewers won game one and the Twins won game two of the series. Now one of these first place teams will be looking to gain an advantage in game one.

The Minnesota Twins are coming into this game looking to grab a big series win over another first place team in Major League Baseball. The Twins come into this game with a record of 52-44 through their first 96 games of the year. They currently have a three and a half game lead over the Cleveland Guardians at the moment. The Twins have won five out of their last ten games on the season and are currently on a two game winning streak coming into this game. 

The Milwaukee Brewers are coming into this game in first place of the National League Central division. They currently have a record of 53-44 through their first 97 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They currently hold a two and a half game lead over the St.Louis Cardinals for first place in the division. They have won five out of their last ten games on the season but come into this one on a one game losing streak.

Monday was an off day for the Minnesota Twins as they traveled into Wisconsin for their series with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Twins come in winners of three of four after a quick two-game sweep of the Detroit Tigers over the weekend, where they outscored Detroit 17-5. Milwaukee was in action on Monday, getting shutout in a 2-0 loss to the Colorado Rockies. That was an unexpected return to reality for the Brewers who has scored a total of 25 runs in the previous three games in that series. 

The offense should be able to get back on track in the series opener against Minnesota’s Dylan Bundy. Bundy has a 4.70 ERA in the month of July and an ERA over 6.00 on the road this season. He is not putting the Twins in a position to win games and I see them dropping this game to a good Brewers team for that reason.

The Milwaukee Brewers are on top of the NL Central with a 53-44 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 3-1 series win over the Colorado Rockies. The Brewers are 11th in the league scoring 4.62 runs per game and are ranked 12th in the league allowing 4.30 runs per game. Ethan Small will be the starting pitcher for the Brewers tonight who is 0-0 for this season with a 6.75 ERA. Milwaukee has won the last 5 opening games of a series and 5 of the last 6 interleague games against teams with a winning record.

However, they have been playing so much better as of late, and that showed in game one of their series against the Houston Astros. They come into this game with a record of 36-63 through their first 99 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. 

The Houston Astros have been one of the top teams in Major League Baseball all season long. However, they will be looking for a way to bounce back after their loss to the Oakland Athletics in game number one of their three game series in Houston. The Astros now come into game number two with a record of 64-33 through their first 97 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The Oakland Athletics have clearly figured something out against the Houston Astros in the past couple weeks and it showed again on Monday. The As went into Houston and beat the Astros 7-5 and this is just about a week after taking two of three from them right before the all star break. This win was possible thanks to a five-run 4th inning that gave Oakland a 6-1 lead. 

There isn’t expected to be a lot of runs in Tuesday’s contest with the goal being set at 7 runs but I do think Houston gets back on track. Great teams in the game after a loss are always a good spot to back and I’m going to do just that for Tuesday’s game. Luis Garcia has not lost a start for the Astros since June 10 and I’m not expecting that to change in this spot.

The Oakland Athletics are at the bottom of the AL West with a 36-63 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 7-5 win over the Astros. The Athletics are second to last in the league scoring 3.45 runs per game and are 22nd in the league allowing 4.68 runs per game. Oakland will start Frankie Montas who is 3-9 for the season with 3.16 ERA. The Houston Astros are on top of the AL West with a 64-33 record. Last night’s loss to the Athletics put an end to their five-game winning streak. The Astros are 14th scoring 4.53 runs per game and are ranked third in the league allowing 3.38 runs per game. Houston will start Luis Garcia tonight who is 8-5 for the season with a 3.65 ERA. The Astros have won 13 of the last 16 road games against right-handed starter and 27 of the last 37 games against AL West teams.
