Milwaukee Brewers @ Philadelphia Phillies – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Milwaukee Brewers come into this series with the Philadelphia Phillies as one of the hottest teams in baseball at the moment. They have picked up seven victories in their last 10 games of the season, and they are currently on a four game winning streak as well. They will be looking to keep the momentum rolling when they open up this series with the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday night at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. Milwaukee is currently in first place in the National League Central division as they hold a slight advantage over the Cincinnati Reds. They will be looking to extend their lead with another impressive victory in the opening game of this series.

The Philadelphia Phillies won the National League pennant last season, and they came into this season with a ton of expectations. It is fair to say that they have been severely underwhelming up until this point of the year as they come into this game well out of first place in the National League East division. They have picked up 51 victories in their first 93 games of the 2023 season but they find themselves 10 1/2 games out of first place after a slow start to the year. Hopeful MVP candidate Trea Turner has been a disappointment as well after a solid showing at the world baseball classic earlier this spring. However, I expect Philadelphia to bounce back and grab a victory in the opening game of this series on Tuesday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 (-110)

Cleveland Guardians @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 7:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

After a rough weekend that saw them blow two huge leads against the Texas Rangers and get swept, Cleveland bounced back in a big way in the opening game of their series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. As the Cleveland lineup exploded and put up a crooked number on the board against Pittsburgh to open up their series on Monday night at PNC Park. Now Cleveland will be looking to grab their second consecutive victory in this series and officially clinch the series over the Pittsburgh Pirates here on Tuesday night on the road. They will certainly take advantage of what might be considered some free victories throughout this series as they look to chip away at the lead of the Minnesota Twins in the American League Central division.

After a fantastic start to the season, the Pittsburgh Pirates have fallen back to reality, and they are slowly trending towards being one of the worst teams in the league. They come into this game after being blasted by Cleveland to open up their series on Monday night, and they will be looking to bounce back and even up this series before heading into Wednesday’s finale. They come into this game 10 games below the .500 mark and on a four game losing streak after their loss on Monday night to Cleveland. I don’t expect it to get much better for them in this one as I have Cleveland picking up a second consecutive victory over Pittsburgh.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Pittsburgh Pirates (-105)

Chicago White Sox @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox came into this season with a lot of expectations. However, they have been very underwhelming up until this point of the season and they come into this game well under .500 in the worst division of baseball. They are 15 games below .500 coming into the opening game of this series and if they don’t turn things around quickly they will fall even farther down the standings in the American League Central division. Lucas Giolito is expected to take the mound for Chicago in this start against the New York Mets on Tuesday night, and he will be hoping to turn his season around as well as the Chicago White Sox season.

The New York Mets have one of the highest payrolls in all of Major League Baseball and they have been one of the most disappointing teams this year as well. They have a roster that is loaded with talent, but they cannot seem to get it all together and play well this year. They come into the opening game of this series 7 games below .500 and in fourth place of the National League East division. Carlos Carrasco is expected to take the mound in the opening game of this series on Tuesday night and I expect the New York Mets to pick up the victory over the Chicago White Sox as well.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

NY Mets (-120)

New York Yankees @ Los Angeles Angels – 9:38PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees coming to the second game of the series, looking to turn things around after they limped into the All-Star break with tons of injuries. The Yankees have flown under the radar this season because of the strength of the American League East division, and they are in danger of missing out on the postseason if they don’t string together some victories here soon. Despite having a winning record, and being several games above .500 heading into the second game of the series. They currently find themselves in last place of their division. They will be hoping they can take two out of three or three out of three from Los Angeles and climb out of the basement in the American League East division with a solid performance in this game.

The Los Angeles Angels have two of the best players on the planet, and they are headed for yet another season where they missed the playoffs. This has become a trend all too familiar with the franchise as many fans accuse them of wasting the primes of Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani. They come into the second game of the series below 500 and in fourth place of the American League West division. If they don’t start stringing some victories together here soon, they will find themselves sitting at home in October once again. However, I do expect the Angels to grab the victory in the second game of the series on Tuesday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

LA Angels (-110)

Boston Red Sox @ Oakland Athletics – 9:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Boston Red Sox are having a solid season, but they have flown under the radar because of the difficulty of the division they play in. The American League East has been so tough this season that find themselves tied for last place with a winning record. They will be looking to string some wins together and put themselves back into the American League playoff race as we approach the stretch run of the season over the next couple of months. They will also be looking to grab a victory in the second game of the series against the Oakland Athletics here on Tuesday night in the Bay Area as they look to beat up on the worst team in baseball to gain some momentum and some important victories.

The Oakland Athletics are having an absolutely horrible year. They have been the worst team in all of Major League Baseball by far this season and they are on pace to lose over 100 games. If things don’t improve for them here soon, they will break the single-season record for the most losses in a single 162 game season. The Athletics come into the second game of the series against the Boston Red Sox nearly 40 games below the .500 mark. They are also on pace to be the first team eliminated from the Major League Baseball playoffs this season. I don’t expect it to get much better for them in this one as I have Boston picking up the victory in game two of the series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Boston Red Sox
