Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins jumped out to a fantastic start in the opening game of their series against the Detroit Tigers on Monday night. As they put up a crooked number on the board against the Tigers early and cruised to a very comfortable victory to open up the series. They will be looking to replicate that performance here on Tuesday night in the second game of the series as they look to maintain their lead in the American League Central division. They put four runs on the board in the first inning and they followed it up with another three runs in the second inning as well on Monday night. They are still a handful of games ahead of Cleveland for the division at the moment.

The Detroit Tigers will be looking to bounce back after they were blown out by the Minnesota Twins in the opening game of their series on Monday night. This is arguably the worst performance we have seen from the Detroit Tigers all season long and if they want any chance to make the playoffs, they will have to get on a lengthy winning streak here soon before they are officially eliminated. This loss to Minnesota was a huge momentum killer for the Detroit Tigers and they will have a hard time bouncing back from their loss on Monday night. I don’t see it happening as I have Minnesota picking up another comfortable victory in the second game of the series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Minnesota Twins (-115)

Miami Marlins @ Cincinnati Reds – 6:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Miami Marlins had a solid first half of the season, but they have struggled since coming out of the All-Star break. They will be meeting up with another team that has been playing rough baseball lately as they open up this series with the Cincinnati Reds. Miami will be looking to regain the footing that they lost in the National League East division, and put themselves back in the race to win the National League wild card as well. Miami comes into the second game of this series with a record of 58-56 after their loss to the Cincinnati Reds in the opening game of the series on Monday night. They will be looking to bounce back and pick up much-needed victory here against Cincinnati on Tuesday night.

The Cincinnati Reds have been on a lengthy, losing streak that has put them outside of the playoff race at the moment. They had a rough start to the season, but as the season has progressed, they have climbed their way into first place of the National League Central division. However, after their losing streak they now sit in third place behind Milwaukee and Chicago and they will be looking to regain some footing with another victory in the series against the Miami Marlins. They picked up a comfortable victory over Miami in the opening game of the series on Monday night, and I expect a similar performance out of Cincinnati here on Tuesday night as well. As I have them picking up their second consecutive victory of this series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cincinnati Reds (+110)

Houston Astros @ Baltimore Orioles – 7:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The defending World Series champions are heating up at the right time, and it is perfect timing for them as they get set to open up a series with the best team in the American League right now. They will be looking to open up the series with a solid victory over the Baltimore Orioles here on Tuesday night at Camden Yards. Houston comes into this game with a record of 64-49 through their first 113 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They will be looking to chase down the Texas Rangers in the American League West division as they are a handful of games out of first place at the moment. Houston comes into this game as winners of six out of their last 10 on the season.

The Baltimore Orioles are having a solid season and they come into this game looking to pick up a massive victory over a fellow American League pennant contender. Baltimore currently has the best record in the American League, and one of the best records in all of Major League Baseball as they sit on top of the American League East division at the moment. Baltimore will be looking to maintain their lead with another victory here at home at Camden Yards on Tuesday night against the defending World Series champions. Despite being at a disadvantage in the pitching matchup with Framber Valdez starting for Houston, I still look for Baltimore to pull off a victory in a close and competitive match up here on Tuesday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Baltimore Orioles (+105)

San Francisco Giants @ Los Angeles Angels – 9:38PM ET

Tony Battalio

It has been a solid season for the San Francisco Giants, but they have flown under the radar. They are currently in playoff contention for the National League wildcard and the National League West division race. They will be looking to grab a victory in the second game of this series against the Los Angeles Angels with a solid victory on Tuesday night as they look to keep themselves within striking distance to compete for the division lead. The San Francisco Giants come into this series, double digit games above .500 at the moment and they will be looking to add to that here in the second game of this series on Tuesday night.

The Los Angeles Angels are stuck in a strange position, as they didn’t trade away Shohei Ohtani at the trade deadline, and their all in push to make the playoffs does not look good right now. They have looked rough over the last week and a half and they will be looking to bounce back in the second game of the series against the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night. Los Angeles will have to get hot at the right time if they still want an opportunity to grab one of the three American League wildcard spots. If they don’t manage to recover and make a playoff appearance this season, they run an even higher risk of losing out Shohei Ohtani in the off-season when he hits free agency. However, I don’t see them getting the victory in this game on Tuesday night as I have the Giants grabbing the win on the road.

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Arizona Diamondbacks – 9:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Dodgers wrapped up their series with the San Diego Padres on Monday afternoon with another solid victory. For the second night in a row, Los Angeles had a solid offensive performance and they blew the Padres out to close out the series. They will be looking to replicate those performances in the opening game of the series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Tuesday at Chase Field. As the Los Angeles Dodgers will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Diamondbacks team here in this one, and put some more distance between them and the other teams in the National League West division.

The Arizona Diamondbacks had a solid start to the season, but they have been struggling as of late. This series provides them with a massive opportunity to regain their footing and get themselves reestablished in the National League playoff race. Arizona has an opportunity to gain ground on the Los Angeles Dodgers after both Los Angeles and San Francisco surpassed them in the National League West division standings. However, I don’t see that happening as I have Los Angeles picking up the victory here on Tuesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

LA Dodgers (-150)
