Luis Arraez will be looking to extend his 17-game on-base streak as the Miami Marlins (49-37) host the St. Louis Cardinals (35-49) at loanDepot Park on Tuesday.

The Marlins took Monday’s series opener 5-4. Reliever Huascar Brazoban threw one scoreless inning to get the win, and A.J. Puk picked up his 14th save with a scoreless ninth.

Yuli Gurriel went 1 for 1 with a double and two RBIs in the win. Willson Contreras was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double for the Cardinals. He scored two runs. Paul DeJong added a double and one RBI.

ON THE MOUND

Adam Wainwright (3-3, 7.45 ERA) is set to get the start for St. Louis. The righty allowed six runs over 1.2 innings in his last start, a 14-0 road defeat against the Astros on Thursday.

He was charged with the loss, giving up six hits while striking out one and walking three. Wainwright is making his first appearance against the Marlins this season.

Over two starts against the Marlins in 2022, Wainwright was 2-0 with a 0.71 ERA over 12.2 innings. He had 15 strikeouts and three walks.

Southpaw Jesus Luzardo (6-5, 3.53 ERA) is on the mound for Miami. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Cardinals. Luzardo made one start against the Cardinals in 2022, throwing 4.1 innings in a 5-1 home defeat on April 19.

He gave up seven hits and walked two while striking out three in the loss. In his last start on Thursday, Luzardo took a no-decision on the road against the Red Sox. He threw 6.1 scoreless innings and gave up three hits, striking out nine and walking one in the 2-0 victory.
