Boston Red Sox @ Washington Nationals – 7:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Boston Red Sox come into this opening game of this series with a record of 62-56 through their first 119 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in fourth place of the American League East division and they will be looking to get themselves out of the basement over the final two months of the 2023 Major League Baseball regular season. They are 11 games out of first place within the division, but they are only three games back of the third wildcard spot in the American League. They have plenty of opportunities coming up over the next couple of months to get themselves into a playoff spot and it starts with picking up a victory over Washington here on Tuesday night.

It has been a rough season for the Washington Nationals, but on the bright side, they have shown a ton of progress when it comes to their rebuild. After winning the World Series back in 2019, they entered another rebuilding era, and this time around it seems as if it’ll be a lot shorter than the last one. As they are still a couple years away from competing, but they are showing signs of heading in the right direction. They come into this game with a record of 53-66 through their first 119 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season and they are looking to grab a victory in the opening game of the series against Boston at home on Tuesday. Unfortunately for Washington I don’t see that happening as I have Boston picking up the series opening victory in this one.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Boston Red Sox (-175)

Pittsburgh Pirates @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Pittsburgh Pirates will be looking to bounce back after they lost the opening game of the series to the New York Mets by multiple runs on Monday night. Pittsburgh is having a long season after what looked like it would be a successful season for the Pirates. As they have been racking up losses ever since the beginning of the summer. Now they will have to find a way to bounce back after yet another loss here on Monday night in New York as they looked even up this series before heading into Wednesday’s finale. Pittsburgh comes into the middle game of this series two game losing streak.

The New York Mets picked up a solid victory in the opening game of the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday night. Now they will be looking to grab a second consecutive victory, and officially clinch the series as well here on Tuesday evening at home. New York also will be going for their third consecutive victory of the season after they picked up a win on both Sunday and Monday night. The Mets have been very underwhelming this season, and they still have an outside shot at grabbing a National League wildcard spot, but they will have to get hot very quickly. I expect them to get a second consecutive victory in this series over Pittsburgh here on Tuesday night.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

NY Mets (-140)

New York Yankees @ Atlanta Braves – 7:20PM ET

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees jumped out to an early lead on Monday night in the opening game of the series against the Atlanta Braves. Unfortunately for the New York Yankees their lead did not last long as Atlanta’s offense quickly took over as the innings progressed. The Yankees would end up getting blown out by the Atlanta Braves in the opening game of the series on Monday night and now they will be looking to bounce back in the middle game on Tuesday. It is yet another frustrating loss for New York and they cannot afford to take many more losses if they wanna make the playoffs this season so they will have to bring their best game here on Tuesday night if they want to even up this series before heading into Wednesday’s finale.

After coming up short in the finale of their series against the New York Mets on Sunday night, the Atlanta Braves bounce back in a big way on Monday night against the New York Yankees at home. After an early deficit, the Atlanta Braves put plenty of runs up on the board and they got a comfortable victory over the New York Yankees in the opening game of this three game interleague series. I expect the Atlanta Braves to have another quality performance in the second game of the series and pick up a second consecutive victory over the New York Yankees here on Tuesday night as well.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Atlanta Braves -1.5 (-115)

Detroit Tigers @ Minnesota Twins – 7:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Tigers are not having the best season, but they are arguably still within striking distance of the top spot in the American League Central division at the moment. Despite having a losing record, they are less than 10 games out of first place behind the Minnesota Twins coming into the opening game of the series on Tuesday night on the road in Minneapolis. With a solid performance in this series, they can get themselves even closer to the top spot in the division and potentially pass up the Cleveland Guardians for second if they were to sweep Minnesota. Detroit comes into this game with a record of 53-65 through their first 118 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They have won five out of their last ten on the year as well.

Minnesota is currently sitting on top of the American League Central division, despite struggling as of late. That is because Cleveland cannot seem to get out of their own way, as the Guardians continue to cost themselves games coming down the stretch. Minnesota will be looking to extend that lead further here in the opening game of this series at home on Tuesday night against the Detroit Tigers. The Twins come into this game with a record of 62-58 and they are currently on a two game winning streak. I expect them to make it three consecutive victories with a victory here on Tuesday night as well.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Minnesota Twins (-200)

Los Angeles Angels @ Texas Rangers – 8:05PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Angels looked completely outmatched in the opening game of their series against the Texas Rangers on Monday night. Now they will be looking to bounce back in the second game of the series here on Tuesday night as they looked even up the series against their American League West division rivals. Los Angeles cannot afford to drop many more games this season if they still wanna make a playoff appearance at the end of the year. They will have to start playing much better baseball and their pitching will have to be a lot more effective after giving up a ton of runs in the opening game of the series on Monday.

The Texas Rangers had an incredible performance in the opening game of the series against Los Angeles on Monday night. They will be looking to replicate that performance here on Tuesday as they look to pick up their second consecutive victory over the Los Angeles Angels. Texas will also be looking to extend their lead within the American League West division as they continue to try and put distance between themselves and the defending World Series champions, the Houston Astros. That is exactly what I expect as I have the Texas Rangers grabbing the victory over the Los Angeles Angels here on Tuesday night to pick up their second victory of the series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Texas Rangers (-165)
