Houston Astros @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 6:35PM ET

The Houston Astros come into this game after picking up a huge blowout victory in game one of the series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Houston will now be looking to grab their second consecutive victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second game of this three game interleague series on Tuesday evening. Taking the mound for the Houston Astros in this one will be Cristian Javier and he will be looking to wrap up the series in this one and set up the sweep for the Houston Astros on Wednesday. 

The Pittsburgh Pirates didn’t put up much of a fight in the first game of their series against the Houston Astros on Monday evening. Now they will be looking to bounce back in game number two of the series so they can even up the series heading into Wednesday’s finale. The Pirates had a solid and surprising start to the season but after losing Cruz to a fractured ankle due to a home plate collision, maintaining that success will prove to be much more difficult as the year progresses. I expect Houston to keep the momentum alive in this second game and pick up the victory here on Tuesday evening. 

Miami Marlins @ Philadelphia Phillies – 6:40PM ET

The Miami Marlins were absolutely crushed by the Philadelphia Phillies last night and now they will be looking to bounce back in game two of this series. It was a rough outing for Sandy Alcantara last night and now Jesus Luzardo takes the mound for the Marlins on Tuesday night looking to even up the series. They will have to be a lot more efficient at the plate after their rough showing on Monday night where they barely managed to score a few runs late in the game. Luzardo comes into this one having picked up a victory already this season and now he will be looking to keep his string of solid starts alive.

The Philadelphia Phillies looked absolutely unstoppable last night, and they released a lot of pent-up frustration from their poor performances early on this season. Now they will be looking to string together some victories and grab their second victory in a row over the Miami Marlins here on Tuesday night. Philadelphia jumped all over Miami last night as they scored five runs in the third inning and would end the game with 15 runs scored, which is a season high for the Phillies. I expect a much lower scoring game here in this one and I think Miami turns the tables and grabs a victory here on Tuesday night.

Detroit Tigers @ Toronto Blue Jays – 7:07PM ET

It’s been a rough start to the season for the Detroit Tigers this year and they will be looking to get back on track against the Toronto Blue Jays. Detroit had an off day yesterday and I will be playing their second consecutive American League East divisional opponent after finishing up with the Boston Red Sox over the weekend. The Tigers have quickly established themselves as one of the worst teams in baseball this season as they have only picked up two victories through their first nine games of the year. Matt Manning will be taking the mound for them in this one as he searches for his second victory of the season.

The Toronto Blue Jays are having a decent season so far but based on the talent level on their roster it is still fair to say that they have been underperforming as well. They come into this series against Detroit after a weekend series with the Los Angeles Angels that they won two games to one and both of those victories came by a single run as well. The Blue Jays come into this game with a record of 6-4 through their first ten games of the season. Alek Manoah will be taking the mound in this one for Toronto. I think the Blue Jays also get the win in this one on Tuesday to open up this three game series. 

San Diego Padres @ New York Mets – 7:10PM ET

It has been a somewhat disappointing start to the season for the San Diego Padres but they are only going to get better when they get Fernando Tatís Junior back in the lineup. They come into this game having picked up six victories in the first 11 games of the season and they now look to take game two of the series against the New York Mets here on Tuesday. Taking the mound for the San Diego Padres in this one will be Ryan Weathers. He will be making his second appearance of the season in this one as he is still searching for his first win of the year. 

The New York Mets are having a slow start to the season as well and come into this game with an identical record of 6-5 through their first 11 games of the season. They picked up a 5-0 victory in game number one of the series against the San Diego Padres on Monday evening and now they will be looking to clinch the series with another victory on Tuesday. Taking the mound for the New York Mets David Peterson. He has made two appearances this season and has yet to record a victory, but he did pick up a loss already this year. However, I still expect the Mets to grab their second victory of the series in this one. 

Seattle Mariners @ Chicago Cubs – 7:40PM ET

The Seattle Mariners are having a somewhat rough start to the season. They started slow by losing three of four to the Cleveland Guardians but bounced back and took two out of three from Cleveland over the weekend. Now they come into game two of this series against Chicago with a record of 4-7 through their first eleven games of the year. They have also lost their last two games of the season and now will be looking to even up this series at one game a piece with a win on Tuesday night. Chris Flexen will be on the mound for them in this one on Tuesday evening.

It’s been an average start of the season for the Chicago Cubs as they have picked up five victories in the first nine games of the season. They will be looking to get their second victory of the series against Seattle with another win here on Tuesday evening and officially clinch the series heading into Wednesday’s finale. Marcus Stroman takes them on for Chicago in this one and he has already picked up two victories in two appearances this season. He is off to a great start this year, and I look for him to have another solid performance in this one and lead the Chicago Cubs to a victory.
