St.Louis Cardinals @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 11:35AM ET

The St.Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. St.Louis got the win in game number one. In game number two it was the Cardinals who picked up the victory again to clinch the series win.

Tony Battalio

The St.Louis Cardinals added another victory in this series on Saturday and now they will be looking to complete the sweep on Sunday afternoon. The win improved the Cardinals record on the season to 22-18 through their first 40 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. It also extends their current winning streak to two games as they are 5-5 in their last ten games of the year. Taking the mound for them in the finale will be Steven Matz who is 3-3 on the year with a 6.03 Earned Run Average.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are having yet another miserable season. As they come into this game with a record of 16-23 through their first 39 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are consistently horrible as they’ve spent the last twenty years towards the bottom of the standings in the National League. They are currently on a two game losing streak as they are nine and a half games back of first place in the division. As for the result of this one I am going with the St.Louis Cardinals to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-156)

Jeffery Thomas

The St.Louis Cardinals rode the hot bat of Paul Goldschmidt to a 5-4 victory on Saturday night and now have taken the two games of this series against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Goldschmidt has been one of the hottest hitters over the past couple weeks and has now hit safely in 14 consecutive games. It was the major league debut for pitcher and highly touted prospect Matthew Liberatore, who came within one out of winning in his first start.

Liberatore gave up 7 hits and four earned runs in 4 ⅔ innings but thanks to some great run support wasn’t tagged with the loss. Runs should not be a problem for the Cardinals again on Sunday against Pirates pitcher Bryse Wilson who has given up 16 hits and 9 earned runs in his last two outings (8 innings). With Pittsburgh’s own struggles at the plate as well they won’t be able to keep up and will once again fall to their division rivals.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-156)

Marko Nadin

The Pittsburgh Pirates are third in the NL Central with a 16-23 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games including the opening 2 games of the series against the Cardinals allowing 5 runs in each of those two. Pittsburgh is 28th in the league scoring 3.40 runs per game and 27th allowing 5.36 runs per game. They will start Bryse Wilson today who is 0-2 for the season with a 5.67 ERA. The Pirates have lost 4 of the last 6 home games and 9 of the last 12 games against NL Central teams.

The St.Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central with a 22-18 record. They have won the opening two games of the series against the Pirates after losing 3-1 in the series to the New York Mets. The Cardinals are 8th in the league scoring 4.67 runs per game and allowing 3.87 runs per game. Steven Matz will be their starting pitcher today who is 3-3 for the season with a 6.03 ERA. The Cardinals have won 7 of the last 13 road games and 8 of the last 13 against NL Central rivals.

Marko’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-156)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Baltimore Orioles – 1:35PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. Tampa Bay got the win in game number one. In game number two it was the Rays who picked up the victory again to clinch the series.

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Rays got another win to lock up the series victory on Saturday. Now they will be looking complete the sweep on Sunday against a terrible Baltimore Orioles team. The Rays now come into this game with a record of 24-16 through their first 40 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in second place of the American League East division as they trail the first place New York Yankees by 5.5 games at the moment. They are 6-4 in their last ten games on the year.

The Baltimore Orioles lost another game on Saturday as they have now fallen to 16-25 through their first 41 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. However, their future may be bright as they called up former number one overall pick Adley Rutschman and he has already hit a triple in his first big league game. As for the result of this series finale with the Tampa Bay Rays in this one however, I am going with Tampa to finish off the sweep.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-168)

Jeffery Thomas

The Tampa Bay Rays spoiled the major league debut for Orioles catcher and 2019 number 1 overall pick Adley Rutschman by beating Baltimore 6-1 on Saturday. Rutschman got his first career hit on a stand up triple in the seventh inning but his presence wasn’t enough to get the Os a second win in as many days over Tampa. Jeffrey Springs pitched a shutout into the sixth inning and Randy Arozarena had a couple homers to lead the way.

The series will now be decided on Sunday and Tampa has to like their chances with Corey Kluber on the mound against this bad Baltimore offense. Kluber isn’t the same guy who won the Cy Young a few years back but he still has plenty of stuff to shut down the Orioles as he showed on Opening Day taking a shutout into the 5th inning. Give me the Rays here to take care of business and close out the series strong.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-168)

Marko Nadin

The Baltimore Orioles are on the bottom of the AL East with a 16-25 record. They have lost 7 of the last 9 games including last night’s 6-1 loss to the Rays. The Orioles are 27th in the league scoring 3.48 runs per game and 22nd allowing 4.40 runs per game. They will start Spencer Watkins who is 0-1 for the season with a 5.10 ERA. Baltimore has lost 120 of the last 167 home games against a team with a winning record and 84 of the last 115 games against a team with a winning record.

The Tampa Bay Rays are second in the AL East with a 24-16 record. They have won 3 of the last 4 games. The Rays are 12th in the league scoring 4.37 runs per game and 13th allowing 4.04 runs per game. Tampa Bay will start Corey KLyber who is 1-2 for the season with a 4.29 ERA. The Rays have won 27 of the last 37 road games against a team with a losing record, 51 of the last 72 games against a team with a losing record and 6 of the last 8 aas road favorites.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-168)

Cincinnati Reds @ Toronto Blue Jays – 1:37PM ET

The Cincinnati Reds and Toronto Blue Jays will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. Toronto got the win in game number one and two. Now they will be looking to complete the sweep on Sunday.

Tony Battalio

The Cincinnati Reds enjoyed a short period of success over the last two weeks of the season. However, they have now seemed to find their way back into the losers column throughout the first two games of this weekend series with the Toronto Blue Jays. They have already lost the series and now will be looking to salvage some momentum in Sunday’s finale while also simultaneously avoiding being swept in a series for the seventh time this season. They come into this one with a record of 11-28 through their first 39 games of the season.

The Toronto Blue Jays came into this season expected to be one of the top teams in Major League Baseball. However, they have gotten off to a somewhat less than impressive start to the year, as they come into this game with a record of 22-18 through their first 40 games off the season. With their season 25% of the way through they currently sit in the middle of the pack of the American League and are still a serious contender for a World Series victory in my opinion. As for the result of this game I am going with the Toronto Blue Jays to complete the sweep of the Cincinnati Reds.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-245)

Jeffery Thomas

The Toronto Blue Jays will be going for the sweep on Sunday afternoon against the Cincinnati Reds after their 3-1 victory on Saturday. Bo Bichette led the way offensively for the Jays hitting two home runs and driving in all three runs. Starting pitcher Alex Manoah hit his career-high in innings with 8 and snapped a three-start winless streak he was on. The Blue Jays are really starting to find their groove winning four of their last five games.

Earlier this month they had a losing streak of five so it’s nice to see them playing some competent baseball again. This recent run of wins however isn’t coming due to a spike in offensive production and I think that is why the under is the play in this series finale. Through two games this series has produced just 7 runs so I don’t think we will even threaten this total of 8.5.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Under Runs (-118)

Marko Nadin

The Toronto Blue Jays are third in the AL East with a 22-18 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games including the first two games of the series against the Cincinnati Reds. Toronto is 10th in the league hitting 1.11 home runs per game and 11th allowing 3.94 runs per game. The Blue Jays will start Yusei Kikuchi today who is 2-1 for the season with a 3.38 ERA. Toronto has won the last 5 interleague home games against a right-handed starter, the last 6 interleague home games against a team with a losing record and 11 of the last 15 games against a right-handed starter.

The Cincinnati Reds are at the bottom of the NL Central with a 11-28 record. They have lost 4 of the last 6 games. Cincinnati is the worst defensive team in the league allowing 5.86 runs per game and 1.41 home runs per game and they are ranked 20th in the league scoring 4.11 runs per game. The Reds will start Graham Aschraft who is going to make his season debut today. The Reds have lost 65 of the last 96 interleague road games, 63 of the last 90 interleague road games vs. a team with a winning record and 21 of the last 27 games as road underdogs.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-245)

Atlanta Braves @ Miami Marlins – 1:40PM ET

The Atlanta Braves and Miami Marlins will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. Atlanta got the win in game number one. In game number two it was the Atlanta Braves who picked up the victory to clinch the series win.

Tony Battalio

The Atlanta Braves have won the first two games of this three game weekend series with the Miami Marlins. Now they will be looking to finish off the sweep in game number three on Sunday afternoon. They have had a rough start to the year but a sweep in this series could go a long way to establish some much needed momentum for the defending World Series champions. They come into this game with a record of 19-21 through their first 40 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The Miami Marlins are having a rough start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season as well. As they come into this game with a record of 17-22 through their first 39 games of the year. They are currently in fourth place of the National League East division as they are eight and a half games back of the division leading New York Mets at the moment. As for the result of this series finale I am going with the Atlanta Braves to complete the sweep.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Atlanta Braves (-104)

Jeffery Thomas

The Braves have still been struggling to find any consistency in the new year and can’t be trusted most nights. Their starter Ian Anderson has a mediocre track record against the Marlins, posting a career 4.15 ERA against them. The Marlins are also a pretty competitive team this year with good starting pitching.

Their pitcher for Sunday’s game is Sandy Alcantara who has only given up two runs over his last two starts (15 innings) and generally dominates the Braves with his career 2.20 ERA against them. Give me the Marlins here in the series finale.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Miami Marlins (-112)

Marko Nadin

The Miami Marlins are 4th in the NL East with a 17-22 record. They have lost the last three games including the first two of the series against the Atlanta Braves. The Marlins are 15th in the league scoring 4.28 runs per game and seventh allowing 3.86 runs per game. Sandy Alcantara will start for Miami tonight who is 3-2 for the season with a 2.49 ERA. Miami has won 4 of the last 5 games after losing the opening two games of a series and 7 of the last 9 games against NL East.

The Atlanta Braves are second in the NL East with a 19-21 record. They have won 3 of the last 4 games. The defending champions are fifth in the league hitting 1.32 home runs per game and are ranked 18th scoring 4.16 runs per game. The Braves will start Ian Anderson who is 3-2 for the season with a 3.75 ERA. The Braves have won 20 of the last 28 road games against a team with a losing record and have lost 4 of the last 5 games against a right-handed starting pitcher.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Miami Marlins (-112)

Minnesota Twins @ Kansas City Royals – 2:10PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals will be playing the third and final game of their three game series in this one. Minnesota got the win in game number one. In game number two it was the Twins who picked up the victory to clinch the series.

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins have now clinched the series victory after their win over their American League Central divisional rivals on Saturday afternoon. They have been the biggest surprise of the 2022 Major League Baseball season thus far as they are leading the American League Central division through the first quarter or so of the season. They come into this game with a record of 24-16 through their first 40 games of the season.

The Kansas City Royals are having a terrible start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season as they are likely heading towards another lengthy rebuilding process. They come into this game with a record of 14-25 through their first 39 games of the year as they are currently on a three game losing streak at the moment. As for the result of this one I am going with the Minnesota Twins to complete the series sweep.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-110)

Jeffery Thomas

The Minnesota Twins have now secured their third straight series win with their victory on Saturday. That game followed up a 6-4 win on Friday and now the sweep is on the mind of the first-place Twins. This is some good revenge after the Royals took two of three from them last month and held Minnesota to just 4 runs total in the series.

Kansas City isn’t nearly as competitive these days and I think this is the game that will see their losing streak get up to four games. Brady Singer has been a solid pitcher all season for the Royals but has just one outing over 3 innings so it’s not clear if he can consistently hold up to a large workload. Any dips in production against this Twins lineup is a recipe for disaster and I think they will jump all over him in this one, cruising to victory.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins -1.5 (+146)

Marko Nadin

The Kansas City Royals are fourth in the AL Central with a 14-25 record. They have lost the last three games including the opening two of the series against Minnesota. The Royals are 25th in the league scoring 3.63 runs per game and 26th allowing 5.06 runs per game. They will start Brady Singer today who is 1-0 for the season with a 2.84 ERA. The Royals have lost 103 of the last 153 home games against a team with a winning record and 40 of the last 57 games after losing the first two of a series.

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with a 24-16 record. They have won 5 of the last 6 games. The Twins are 14th in the league scoring 4.35 runs per game and are ranked fifth allowing 3.58 runs per game. Minnesota will start Bailer Ober who is 1-1 for the season with a 2.75 ERA. Minnesota has won 10 of the last 11 games against AL Central opponents, 7 of the last 9 third games of a series and the last 4 games played on Sunday.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-110)
