Who doesn’t love a Sunday? Well, Sunday is made even better with an action packed day (and night) of baseball. We are at the end of all the series, and there are a lot of upsets potentially on the cards. But this does make for a very interesting day of watching!

This Sunday afternoon clash between the New York Mets and the Washington Nationals will be the fourth and final game of the mini series. The second game was played on Saturday, and the Mets managed to strike back, winning 5-1. The third game was also played on Saturday, and the Nationals won here, 6-2.
The New York Mets are having a pretty decent season in terms of results so far, they are currently sitting on a 36-27 season record. They are the top team of their East Division in the National League, with the Phillies their closest rivals.
The Mets have won six games out of their last ten, and this does include series wins to the Padres (2-1) and the Cubs (3-1). When it comes to average runs scored per game, they are in the bottom third of the league, with an average of 3.9.

The Washington Nationals are also having an okay season but will need to pick up their game if they want to make it to the postseason, they are currently sitting on a 31-36 season record. They are currently the second last team in the East Division in the National League, with the Mets leading the division at the moment.
The Nationals have won seven games out of their last ten, and this includes a series tie with the Giants (2-2) and a series win against the Pirates (3-0). The Nationals are the second last team in the league when it comes to average runs scored per game, at 3.8.
The starter matchup is going to be very interesting to watch. Both starters have been performing very well as of late, and we expect a low scoring affair. In terms of the outright winner here, that’s a tricky one, because both teams have the stats that can work for and against them getting across the line here. So, we are going with our gut – back the Mets for the win.

Cleveland Indians @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 1.05PM ET

They are currently the last team in the Central Division in the National League, with their closest rivals being the Cardinals, who are 10 wins ahead of them.
The Pirates have only won two games out of their last ten, and this includes series losses to the Brewers (0-3) and the Nationals (0-3). As well as this, their losing streak before their two most recent wins was at 10 games. The Pirates are the last team in the league when it comes to average runs scored per game, at 3.39.
We think a lot of people thought this series would go a lot differently than what has actually happened! The Pirates have woken up and have come to play, winning the first two games, finally breaking their losing streak which lasted a massive 10 games. But, if you look over the entire season so far, the Indians are by far the better team, and we just can’t resist the great odds currently on offer for the Indians.

St Louis Cardinals @ Atlanta Braves – 2.10PM ET
This Sunday afternoon clash between the St Louis Cardinals and the Atlanta Braves will be the third game of a four game of the mini series. The teams are playing each other twice today, as their Saturday game was postponed, and we will be previewing the first game. The first game was played on Thursday, where the Braves managed to draw first blood, winning 4-0. The second game was played on Friday, and the Braves put on a dominant performance, winning 9-1.

The Atlanta Braves are also having an okay season but will need to pick up their game if they want to make it to the postseason, they are currently sitting on a 32-35 season record. They are currently the last middle in the East Division in the National League, with the Mets and Phillies the two teams ahead of them.
The Braves have only won four games out of their last ten, and this includes series losses to the Phillies (1-2), the Marlins (1-2) and the Red Sox (0-2). The Braves are in the top third of the league when it comes to average runs scored per game, at 4.88.
Both teams haven’t been playing that well as of late, so this makes picking this game a little bit more difficult. The Cardinals in particular are struggling; they are 0-6 in their last six road games, and 4-11 in the previous 15 games overall. If we had to choose, we would back the Atlanta Braves.

Miami Marlins @ Chicago Cubs – 2.20PM ET

The Chicago Cubs are having a decent season in terms of results so far, they are currently sitting on a 39-32 season record. They are the top team of their Central Division in the National League, with the Brewers their closest rivals.
The Cubs have won five games out of their last ten, and this does include a series win against the Cardinals (3-0), as well as a series loss to Mets (0-3). When it comes to average runs scored per game, they are in the top half of the league, with an average of 4.51.
It has been very interesting to see this series play out, considering that many believed the Cubs would walk all over the Marins, especially as they are playing at home. Well, this certainly hasn’t been the case in the first two games, with dominant performances by the Marlins. So, can the Cubs bounce back? We just aren’t sure at this point, and are happy to stick with the Marlins to continue their winning streak, especially considering starting Cubs pitchers, Mills, has been all over the shop lately.

Detroit Tigers @ Los Angeles Angels – 4.07PM ET

The Los Angeles Angels are having an okay season but will need to pick up their game if they want to make it to the postseason, they are currently sitting on a 36-35 season record. They are the middle team of their West Division in the American League, with the Athletics and Astros the two teams ahead of them.
The Angels have won seven games out of their last ten, and this does include a series win against the Diamondbacks (3-0), as well as a series loss to the Athletics (0-3). When it comes to average runs scored per game, they are in the top third of the league, with an average of 4.82.
It looks like the Angels are cruising against a team like the Tigers, in a round of different series’ that are seeing a lot of upsets! The Angels are currently 3-0 in this series and we think it is very likely that they will make it 4-0, as the Tigers just can’t seem to string a run of wins together this season.
