Giancarlo Stanton went 2 for 3 with two home runs, three runs, and three RBIs in the win. Josh Donaldson added a solo home run. Miles Mastrobuoni was 2 for 3 with a double and two runs for the Cubs.
ON THE MOUND
Kyle Hendricks (3-3, 2.64 ERA) is slated to take the mound for Chicago. The right-hander allowed two runs (one earned) over six innings in his last start, a 7-6 home win over the Brewers on Tuesday.
He scattered four hits while striking out five and walking one in the no-decision. For New York, RHP Domingo German (5-5, 4.52 ERA) gets the ball.
It’s his first appearance of the season against the Cubs. In his last start on Monday, German took a no-decision at home against the Orioles. He threw 4.1 innings and gave up three runs (2 ER) on nine hits, striking out five, in the 6-3 win.
