Chicago White Sox @ Atlanta Braves – 1:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox will be looking to grab a victory in Sunday’s finale against the Atlanta Braves after their victory on Saturday to even up the series. It has been a less than impressive year for the Chicago White Sox as they were expected to contend for the American League Central division coming into the season. However, they have been one of the worst teams in the worst division in baseball, and they are out of the playoff picture at the moment. They will be looking to get themselves back into the postseason race with a strong finish to this series, and a strong week as the calendar headed toward the end of July.

The Atlanta Braves have been one of the best teams in the league this season, and they will be looking to cap off this series by taking two out of three games from the Chicago White Sox. They opened up the series on Friday with a dominant victory when they shut out Chicago and put up nine runs of their own at home. However, Saturday’s contest was much closer as Chicago led heading into the ninth inning and pulled out a victory to even up the series. Now the Braves will be looking to cap off the series with another victory and take two out of three games at home to kick off the second half of the season. That is exactly what I expect as I have the Atlanta Braves grabbing the victory to close out the series.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Atlanta Braves (-175)

Milwaukee Brewers @ Cincinnati Reds – 1:40PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Milwaukee Brewers come into this game looking to close out the Cincinnati Reds on the road at Great American Ball Park on Sunday afternoon. Milwaukee picked up a victory in the opening game of the series on Friday night and they controlled the majority of the game on Saturday as well. These two teams are currently neck and neck for the lead in the National League Central division as we come down the stretch run of the season. Milwaukee comes into this game as the Underdog but with the way they looked this weekend, there’s a very realistic chance. They could grab a victory over the Cincinnati Reds here on Sunday afternoon on the road.

The Cincinnati Reds had a rough start to the season and it looked as if they were heading for the basement of the National League Central division. However, they called up their top prospect Elly De La Cruz and since then Cincinnati looks like an entirely different baseball team. De La Cruz has quickly established himself as the frontrunner to win the National League Rookie Of The Year award and right now he has the words on pace to make a playoff appearance at the end of the season. I expect the Cincinnati Reds to grab the victory over the Milwaukee Brewers in the finale of this series on Sunday afternoon at home behind another solid performance from their fantastic rookie.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Cincinnati Reds (-135)

Washington Nationals @ St.Louis Cardinals – 2:15PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Washington Nationals have been one of the worst teams in baseball this season, but that has been expected, as they continue to go through a lengthy rebuild, following their World Series win a few years ago. The Nationals got a big win in the opening game of the series that started on Friday but finished Saturday due to inclement weather. At this point for the Washington Nationals, the best thing they can do is lose less than 100 games this season as they are well out of the playoff race in the National League East division. Josiah Gray is expected to be on the mound for the Washington Nationals in the finale of the series on Sunday.

The St.Louis Cardinals had high hopes coming into the season, but they have been a complete disappointment up until this point in the year. They currently have a losing record as they are well below .500 coming into the finale of this series, and they are out of the playoff race by a mile. They dropped the opening game of the series to the Washington Nationals, and they had a hard time with Washington in the second game of the series as well. They will be hoping they can finish off this series with a comfortable victory and take some momentum with them into the week. With Jack Flaherty taking the mound for St. Louis, I think they will grab a convincing victory here on Sunday afternoon at Busch Stadium.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

St.Louis Cardinals (-190)

Minnesota Twins @ Oakland Athletics – 4:07PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins have made quick work of the Oakland Athletics throughout the first two games of their series this weekend. Minnesota has picked up a pair of victories. They will be looking to complete the 3 game sweep here on Sunday afternoon in Oakland as they look to regain first place in the American League Central division. Minnesota put up double-digit runs in their victory on Saturday afternoon, and they will be looking to do the same here on Sunday afternoon as they try to sweep the Oakland Athletics with ease.

The Oakland Athletics will be looking to bounce back from two consecutive losses against Minnesota and avoid the three-game sweep here on Sunday afternoon. Oakland has been the worst team in the league this year and at one point they were on pace to set a record for the most losses in a single 162-game season. Unless they turn things around quickly, there is still a solid chance that they will set that record by the time the end of the regular season comes around. I don’t expect it to get much better for them in this one as I look for the Minnesota Twins to pick up a third consecutive victory against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday afternoon.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Minnesota Twins (-210)

Detroit Tigers @ Seattle Mariners – 4:10PM ET

Tony Battalio

The Detroit Tigers have shocked everybody and picked up a pair of victories in the first two games of the series against the Seattle Mariners. Now Detroit will be looking to cap off the three-game series sweep with another victory here on Sunday afternoon in the Pacific Northwest. If the Tigers can gain some momentum over the next few weeks they can re-insert themselves in the American League Central division playoff race as a division has been pretty lackluster up until this point of the season. As of right now, Detroit comes into this game nine games under .500 with 41 victories in the first 91 games of the season.

The Seattle Mariners will be looking to bounce back from consecutive losses to the Detroit Tigers and avoid being swept in this three-game weekend series here on Sunday afternoon at home. After winning 90+ games over the previous two seasons and making the playoffs last season Seattle had a lot of expectations coming into this year. However, they have been very underwhelming up until this point of the year and if they don’t turn things around quickly, then they will miss the playoffs once again, only a year after breaking their lengthy two-decade playoff drought. I expect them to bounce back in this game and grab a victory to avoid being swept by the Detroit Tigers.

SportsTips’ MLB Pick:

Seattle Mariners (-185)
