Los Angeles Angels @ New York Mets – 12:05PM ET

The Los Angeles Angels will be looking to pick up a victory over the New York Mets in the finale of this series on Sunday afternoon. Their season is a lost cause at this point after they decided not to trade away Shohei Ohtani at the deadline and it has ended up being a disaster for them. They are well out of playoff contention and they will likely miss out on the postseason unless they go on a hot run to finish off the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They come into the finale of this series with a record of 63-67 through their first 130 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. They will be looking to extend their winning streak to three games and complete the sweep of the Mets with another win here on Sunday. 

It has been a very rough season for the New York Mets, and it just seems to continue as they have failed to pick up a victory over the Los Angeles Angels throughout the first two games of the series. It will be looking to pick up their first victory of the series and avoid being swept over the weekend with a victory here on Sunday afternoon over the Angels. This is a team that had one of the highest payrolls in all of Major League Baseball before the season started, and they came into the year with lofty expectations as well. Unfortunately for the New York Mets, they haven’t quite lived up to those expectations and I don’t see them picking up a victory here on Sunday afternoon either as I look for the Angels to complete the three game sweep.

Colorado Rockies @ Baltimore Orioles – 1:35PM ET

It has been a long season for the Colorado Rockies in this franchise has a long way to go before they come back to being a competitive baseball team. They will be looking to play spoiler the rest of the year, and they will be looking to spoil the finale of this series for the Baltimore Orioles on Sunday afternoon as they look to pick up a victory to cap off the weekend and end this three-game series on a positive note. Colorado has been one of the worst teams in all of baseball this season, and it doesn’t help matters that they play in one of the toughest divisions in all of baseball in the National League West.

Baltimore will be looking to wrap up this three-game series against Colorado at home with a victory here on Sunday afternoon. They will be looking to extend their lead within the American League East division as they try to put more distance between themselves, the Tampa Bay Rays and the Toronto Blue Jays. Baltimore comes into this game with the best record in the American League this season, and they will be looking to extend that with another victory here on Sunday afternoon against the Colorado Rockies. Baltimore has already picked up two victories over Colorado this weekend both by the score of 5 to 4 and I expect them to pick up their third consecutive victory over the Rockies here on Sunday afternoon as well to complete the three game sweep. 

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Boston Red Sox – 1:35PM ET

It has been a fantastic season for the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they will be looking to add another victory to their record with a victory over the Boston Red Sox in the finale of this series at Fenway Park on Sunday afternoon. Los Angeles was unable to capitalize off of the momentum from their victory on Friday night, and they allowed Boston to even up the series on Saturday night and now they will be looking to take the finale here on Sunday. It would be a great way to gain some more momentum before heading into the final few days of August as they look to chase down the Atlanta Braves for the best record in the National League.

The Boston Red Sox will be looking to pick up their second consecutive victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers here on Sunday afternoon at home. They are in the middle of a decent season, but they have been flying under the radar because they currently find themselves sitting outside of playoff contention because of the strength of the American League East division. They have a huge opportunity to try and grab one of the top three wild card spots in the American League but they will still have to finish the season strong if they want to do so, and make a playoff appearance this year. I expect them to have a quality game in the finale of this series and pick up a second consecutive victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers to take two out of three from one of the best teams in the National League over the weekend.

Texas Rangers @ Minnesota Twins – 2:10PM ET

The Texas Rangers were finally able to break their lengthy losing streak, and they did it with a blowout victory of the Minnesota Twins on Saturday. Now they will be looking to replicate that performance here on Sunday afternoon as they look to secure themselves a split of this four game weekend series in Minnesota. Texas will be looking to regain first place in the American League West division after they were passed out by the Seattle Mariners following their lengthy losing streak over the past week. Texas comes into the finale of this series with a record of 73-56 through the first 129 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. 

It has been a solid campaign for the Minnesota Twins, as they currently find themselves leading the American League Central division over the Cleveland Guardians, and the Detroit Tigers. They will be looking to cap off this series against the Texas Rangers at home with their third victory over Texas in the last four days here on Sunday afternoon, as well as put some more distance between themselves and Cleveland coming down the final stretch of the season. Texas comes into the finale of this series with a record of 67-63 through the first 130 games of the 2023 Major League Baseball season. But unfortunately, for Minnesota, I don’t see them picking up the victory in this one as I’m going with the Rangers to pick up their second consecutive victory of the series.

Atlanta Braves @ San Francisco Giants – 7:10PM ET

The Atlanta Braves will be looking to cap off this series against the San Francisco Giants on the road with a victory here on Sunday evening on ESPN. Atlanta has been one of the best teams in the league all season long and I don’t see them slowing down anytime soon as they look to gear up and gain as much momentum as they possibly can before heading into the postseason. They have the best record in the National League right now, and they will be looking to add another victory to that record with a convincing victory over San Francisco here on Sunday night to wrap up this three game weekend series.

The San Francisco Giants will be looking to wrap up this series against the Atlanta Braves with a victory here on Sunday night. San Francisco is having a solid season but I have been flying under the radar and as of right now they are in contention to grab one of the three spots in the National League wildcard race. Atlanta has already picked up a pair of victories over San Francisco this weekend and they will be looking to pick up a third consecutive win to wrap up this series on Sunday night. That is exactly what I expect as I have the Atlanta Braves grabbing the win here on Sunday night to officially sweep the San Francisco Giants.
