San Francisco Giants @ St.Louis Cardinals – 2:15PM ET

The San Francisco Giants and St.Louis Cardinals will be playing the second game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the San Francisco Giants who got the win. Now they will be looking to clinch the series with a win in game two.

Tony Battalio

The San Francisco Giants got the huge win in game number one of this series as they took it by a score of 8-2. Now they have a shot to win the series here on Saturday if they can defeat the St.Louis Cardinals on back to back days. The Giants finished last season as the best team in Major League Baseball during the regular season and now they come into this game with a record of 20-12 through their first 32 games of the season. Taking the mound for them in this one will be Jakob Junis who is 1-0 on the year with a 1.20 Earned Run Average.

The St.Louis Cardinals are having a decent start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season, but now they will need to find a way to bounce back in the middle game of this three game series. They come into this one with a record of 17-15 through their first 32 games of the season. Daniel Hudson takes the mound for them in this game sporting a 2-3 record and a 3.56 Earned Run Average. As for the result of this one I am going with the San Francisco Giants to pick up the win and clinch the series as well.

Tony’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (+100)

Jeffery Thomas

The St.Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants opened up this three-game series on Friday and it was San Francisco who took the opener 8-2. The Giants were in a bit of a slump last week but are now starting to look more and more like the team that ended last season with the best record in baseball.

With things turning around I will continually look to back San Fran at these value prices until the books catch up with the fact that they are back to being elite. They’ll have no problems getting runs off Daniel Hudson who hasn’t won either of his last two starts and gave up 3 runs in each.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: San Francisco Giants (+100)

Marko Nadin

The St.Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central with a 17-15 record. They have lost 5 of the last 6 games including an 8-2 loss in the series opener against the San Francisco Giants. The Cardinals are 6th in the league allowing 3.65 runs per game and 11th in the league scoring 4.42 scored runs per game. St. Louis will start Dakota Hudson tonight who is 2-2 for the season with a 3.56 ERA. The Cardinals have won 8 of the last 11 games against teams with a winning record of over 60%.

The San Francisco Giant are third in the NL West with a 20-12 record. They have won the last 6 games. San Francisco is the second-best scoring team in the league with 5.14 runs per game and are ranked 7th in the league allowing 3.69 runs per game. The Giants will start Jakob Junis tonight who is 1-0 for the season with a 1.20 ERA. San Francisco have won the last 5 games against a team with a winning record and 7 of the last 9 games against NL West teams.

Marko’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-118)

San Diego Padres @ Atlanta Braves – 4:05PM ET

The San Diego Padres and Atlanta Braves will be playing the second game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the San Diego Padres who got the win. Now they will be looking to clinch the series with a win in game two.

Tony Battalio

This game and series presents an interesting matchup as last season the San Diego Padres were many people’s favorites to win the National League pennant. However, they had a monumental collapse mid season and ended up missing the playoffs entirely. Now they will be taking on the team who ended up winning the World Series last season, after a major turn around at the all-star break. In game one it was San Diego who jumped out in front and came away with a 11-6 win over the Braves.

The Padres come into the middle game of this series with a record of 21-12 through their first 33 games of the season. While the Braves are experiencing a bit of a championship hangover as they are 15-18 through their first 33 games of the season. It’ll be a pitching matchup of Sean Menaea vs Charlie Morton in this one as they come in sporting equal 2-3 records. Menaea has the lower Earned Run Average of 3.75 compared to Morton’s higher 5.65. As for the result of this one I have the San Diego Padres clinching the series with a victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: San Diego Padres (+112)

Jeffery Thomas

The Atlanta Braves are hosting the San Diego Padres for the weekend but it was the guests who took the opening game by a score of 11-6. The Padres had a very disappointing end to the 2021 season but they’ve rebounded and now are quietly one of the best teams in baseball in the early going of 2022.

The Braves have still struggled to get things going this season and now will be giving the ball to Charlie Morton again, which hasn’t resulted in much success this year. Morton is just 2-3 with a 5.65 ERA and he’s been one of the easiest guys to fade all season. With his struggles and San Diego just looking like the better team right now, I like taking them with the value on Saturday.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: San Diego Padres (+112)

Marko Nadin

The Atlanta Braves are third in the NL East with a 15-18 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games but are coming off a 11-5 loss to the San Diego Padres in the series opener. The Braves are 5th in the league hitting 1.25 home runs per game and 14th in the league scoring 4.25 runs per game. Atlanta will start Charlie Morton, who is 2-3 tonight for the season with a 5.65 ERA. The defending champions have won 9 of the last 11 games played on Saturday and 11 of the last 16 second games of a series.

The San Diego Padres are second in the NL West with a 21-12 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games. The Padres are 9th in the league scoring 4.52 runs per game and 14th allowing 4.12 runs per game. They will start Sean Manaea tonight who is 2-3 for the season with a 3.75 ERA. The Padres have won 4 of the last 5 games against NL East teams, 7 of the last 9 games against teams with a losing record and 6 of the last 8 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: San Diego Padres (+112)

Toronto Blue Jays @ Tampa Bay Rays – 6:10PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays and Toronto Blue Jays will be playing the second game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Tampa Bay Rays who got the win. Now they will be looking to clinch the series with a win in game two.

Tony Battalio

On any other weekend this would be the hottest game in town around these two major cities. However, that won’t be the case on Saturday evening as the Toronto Maple Leafs and Tampa Bay Lightning will take center stage in game seven of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, make no mistake about it, these two American League East division rivals are still going to give us a great baseball game. As the Toronto Blue Jays will meet the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field for game two of their three game weekend series.

In game number one it was all Tampa Bay as they soared their way to a 5-2 victory behind a great offensive performance at home. The win brought the Rays record to 20-13 on the season, while the loss left the Blue Jays only a single game above .500 at 17-66 through 33 games. Now in game two the Rays will be looking to clinch the series, while the Jays will look to set up a winner take all finale. As for the result of this game however, I am going with Tampa Bay to take the win and set up a sweep opportunity on Sunday.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-130)

Jeffery Thomas

The Tampa Bay Rays took the series opener from the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday, winning that game 5-2. It was the second straight win for Tampa after losing the three previous games. This loss was the 5th straight for the Jays who are searching for answers at the moment and falling further and further down the standings. Neither of these two teams have been at their best recently so it’s truly a toss-up contest. Hyun-Jin Ryu is coming back from the IL and before that he was one of the worst pitchers to start the year, giving up 6 and 5 runs in his two starts.

That leaves his ERA at 13.50 and the Rays will throw out Ryan Yarborough who has given up 5 runs in just 7 ⅓ innings of work this season. With both pitchers being so bad right now I’m loving a play on the over as both offenses should have no problems scoring runs off these guys.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Over 8.5 Runs (-102)

Marko Nadin

The Tampa Bay Rays are second in the AL East with a  20-13 record. They Rays have won the last two games including a series opener 5-2 against the Toronto Blue Jays. Tampa Bay is 13th in the league scoring 4.37 runs per game and 20th allowing the same number of runs per game. The Rays will start Ryan Yarbrough, who has a 6.14 ERA so far in the season. Tampa Bay has won 7 of the last 10 games, 51 of the last 72 games against AL East teams but have lost 4 of the last 5 games against teams with a winning record.

The Toronto Blue Jays are third in the AL East with a 17-16 record. They have lost the last 5 games including the series opener against the Rays. Toronto is 7th in the league, hitting 1.07 home runs per game and 22nd scoring 3.88 runs per game. The Blue Jays will start Hyun Rin Ryu tonight who has a 13.50 ERA. Toronto has won 23 of the last 29 games played on Saturday, 9 of the last 13 games against teams with a winning record and 35 of the last 52 second games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-130)

Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates – 6:35PM ET

The Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates will be playing the second game of their three game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the Cincinnati Reds who got the win. Now they will be looking to clinch the series with a win in game two.

Tony Battalio

Suddenly the Cincinnati Reds remembered how to play baseball as they are starting to pick up steam and have won six of their last eight ball games on the year. They now come into this game sporting a record of 9-24 through their first 33 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. In Saturday’s game they will be looking to win their second straight series over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the last ten days. It would also be their first series victory of the year on the road away from Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have been the Major League Baseball definition of a disappointment for as long as I can remember at this point. They are already starting this year off on the wrong foot as they come into this game with a record of 13-19 through their first 32 games of the season. Now they will be looking to bounce back after getting trounced by the Reds in game one by a score of 8-2 in favor of Cincy. As for the result of this one however, I can’t see that happening as I’m going with the Reds to get another win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds (-112)

Jeffery Thomas

Don’t look now but the Cincinnati Reds are actually playing some competent baseball at the moment. After being the laughing stock of the league to start the year, the Reds have now won six of their last eight, including 3 straight. On Friday they took Game 2 of this weekend series with the Pirates and now are looking to win their third straight series. It’s a long road back to getting back in the wild card picture but at least they’re showing signs of life now.

For the Pirates, it’s been a bad run and they’ve now lost 3 of their last 4 games. The pitching has let them down in a big way as they’ve allowed 26 runs in the last 4 games. I can’t believe I’m actually backing the Reds but Yu can’t ignore how well they’ve been playing recently. I don’t know where it came from or how long it will last but I’m going to hop on the train while it’s still running.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Cincinnati Reds (-112)

Marko Nadin

The Pittsburgh Pirates are third in the NL Central with a 13-19 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games including the first two games off the series against the Cincinnati Reds. The Pirates are 23rd in the league scoring 3.70 runs per game and 28th allowing 5.59 runs per game. Zach Thompson will start for the Pirates tonight who is 1-3 for the season with a 7.08 ERA. Pittsburgh has lost 7 of the last 10 games and 6 of the last 8 games against a team with a losing record under 40%.

The Cincinnati Reds are at the bottom of the NL Central with a 9-24 record. They have won the last three games. Cincinnati is allowing the most runs per game in the league with 6.45 and are scoring 4.47 which ranks them 10th in the league. The Reds will start Louis Castillo tonight who has a 5.79 ERA for the season. Cincinnati has won 4 of the last 5 games against NL Central teams and has lost 6 of the last 8 games as favorite.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Pittsburgh Pirates (-104)

New York Yankees @ Chicago White Sox – 7:10PM ET

The New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox will be playing the third game of their four game weekend series in this one. In game number one it was the New York Yankees who got the win. Now they will be looking to clinch the series with a win in game three.

Tony Battalio

The New York Yankees are two games into this weekend series with the Chicago White Sox and they have won both of those games. That means they have secured at least a split of the series before heading into game number three on Saturday. At this rate, it seems likely that the New York Yankees are going to sweep the Chicago White Sox as they are currently on a five game winning streak and have all the momentum in this one. They come into this one with a record of 24-8 through their first 32 games of the season.

The Chicago White Sox are having a rough start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As they have gone from clear cut favorites in the American League Central division to potentially going to finish last in the same division. As they come into this game with a record of 15-16 through their first 31 games of the season. They are 7-3 in their last ten games on the year but they have dropped their last two to the Yankees. As for the result of this one I am once again going with the Yankees to get the win and clinch the series.

Tony’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-156)

Jeffery Thomas

The New York Yankees kept their hot streak going with their win in Game 2 of this four-game series with the Chicago White Sox. That win pushed their streak up to five games as they just continue to pad their league-best 24 wins.

The White Sox have now lost three of four and are right back under .500 with a record of 15-16. They will hand the ball to Dallas Keuchel on Saturday to deal with this lethal Yankees lineup and I just don’t see that going well. Keuchel is just 2-3 on the year with an ERA north of 6.00 and we will see this power lineup of New York have plenty of success against him.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: New York Yankees (-156)

Marko Nadin

The Chicago White Sox are third in the AL Central with a 15-16 record. They have lost 3 of the last 4 games after winning the previous six in a row. The White Sox are 25th in the league scoring 3.66 runs per game and 22nd allowing 4.53 runs per game. Dallas Keuchel will be their starter tonight who is 2-3 for the season with a 6.86 ERA. The White Sox have won 5 of the last 6 games played on Saturday and 23 of the last 32 games played against a left-handed pitcher.

The New York Yankees are on top of the AL East with a 24-8 record. They have won the last five games including the first two of the series against the White Sox in which they scored 12.5 runs per game. The Yankees are 5th in the league scoring 5.01 runs per game and second allowing 2.94 runs per game. They will start Johnathan Montgomery, who is 0-1 for the season with a 2.90 ERA. The Yankees have won 6 of the last 7 road games and 21 of the last 28 games played on grass.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Chicago White Sox (+132)
