Minnesota Twins @ Detroit Tigers – 1:10PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers will be playing the first game of their five-game weekday series in this one. This will be the third time these two teams have met this season and so far it’s been all Minnesota Twins. As they lead the season series five wins to one up until this point.

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins will come into game one of this unique five-game series looking to continue their dominance this season over the Detroit Tigers. They will come into this one ten games above the .500 mark with a record of 29-19 through their first 48 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in first place in the American League Central division as they have a five-game lead over the Chicago White Sox. This is the second time in about a week they have faced off with Detroit as they are coming off of a seven-game road trip where they went a respectable 4-3.

The Detroit Tigers have been completely crushed by their American League Central division rivals so far this season. But this time around they will be playing at home and they will be looking to use the home field advantage to their advantage and gain some ground on the American League Central division-leading Minnesota Twins. They are coming off of a three-game series win over the Cleveland Guardians and they are hoping that the momentum will carry over as they come into this game with a record of 17-29 through their first 46 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As for the result of this game, however, I am going with the Minnesota Twins to get the victory.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-168)

Jeffery Thomas

The Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers meet up again for the second time in about a week to start up a five-game series that will last to the beginning of June. The Twins are coming off a series split with the Kansas City Royals that took their record to 29-19 which is still good for first place in the AL Central. The Tigers are in fourth place in the division with a record of 17-29 but are coming off taking two of three from the Cleveland Guardians over the weekend.

For the game on Monday, I am looking towards the total as we get two pitchers who have not been on top of their game this season. Dylan Bundy and Beau Brieske both have ERAs north of 4.50 and with the total sitting at a nice number of 8.5, I think we can easily fly over that.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Over Total Runs (-118)

Marko Nadin

The Detroit Tigers are fourth in the AL Central with a 17-29 record. They have won 3 of the last 4 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Cleveland Guardians. The Tigers are the worst offensive team in the league scoring only 2.81 runs per game and are ranked 12th in the league allowing 4.00 runs per game. Beau Brieske will start tonight for the Tigers who are 0-4 for the season and has a 5.05 ERA. Detroit has won 5 of the last 6 home games and 5 of the last 7 games after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game.

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with a 29-19 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games but are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Kansas City Royals. The Twins are 15th in the league scoring 4.41 runs per game and are ranked fifth allowing 3.69 runs per game. Minnesota will start Dyland Bundy tonight who is 3-2 for the season with a 4.54 ERA. The Twins have won the last 4 games as road favorites and 4 of the last 5 games when their opponent allows 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-168)

San Diego Padres @ St.Louis Cardinals – 2:15PM ET

The San Diego Padres and St.Louis Cardinals will be playing the first game of their three-game weekday series in this one. Both of these teams are off to good starts this year and this is the first of two times they will meet this season.

Tony Battalio

The San Diego Padres are off to a decent start during the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are doing it all without their best player Fernando Tatis Jr. as well. They will come into this game with a record of 30-17 through their first 47 games of the season and they are coming off a series win against the Pittsburgh Pirates. The win in the series finale over Pittsburgh capped off a six-game homestand for the Padres as they finished an even 3-3. They will now be playing their third straight National League Central team and they will also finish this road trip playing the Brewers once more.

The St.Louis Cardinals are another team that is having a pretty decent start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season. As they come into this game with a record of 26-21 through their first 47 games of the year and three and a half games behind the Milwaukee Brewers for first place in the National League Central division. They earned a huge series split over The weekend with the Brewers and now their homestand will wrap up with three games against the Padres. Through the first six games, they are three and three. As for the result of this game, I am going with the Cardinals to open up the series with a win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-112)

Jeffery Thomas

The San Diego Padres will continue their run of games against the NL Central as they take on the St.Louis Cardinals on Monday. The Padres are coming off a series in Pittsburgh where they took two of three from the Pirates and now will be traveling back to the West Coast.

St.Louis was shut out on Sunday in their 8-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers and are hoping to get their offense back on track against Padres pitcher Nick Martinez. It should turn into a bullpen game for San Diego as Martinez has only gone past 5 innings in one outing this year. That has me favoring the Cardinals in this one, who are 6-3 in their last nine games and trying to make a run at the first place spot in the division.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: St.Louis Cardinals (-112)

Marko Nadin

The St.Louis Cardinals are second in the NL Central with a 26-21 record. They have lost 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off an 8-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in a series that saw both teams win a pair of games. The Cardinals are 6th in the league scoring 4.84 runs per game and are ranked 10th in the league allowing 3.97 runs per game. They will start Packy Naughton tonight who is 0-1 for the season and has a 2389 ERA this season. The Cardinals have won 4 of the last 56 games against right-handed pitchers and 6 of the last 8 games played on grass.

The San Diego Padres are second in the NL West with a 30-17 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Pittsburgh Penguins. The Padres are 16th in the league scoring 4.25 runs per game and are ranked 4th in the league allowing 3.67 runs per game. The Padres will start Nick Martinez tonight who is 2-2 for the season with a 3.86 ERA. San Diego has won the last 6 games against a left-handed pitcher and 12 of the last 14 opening games of a series.

Marko’s MLB Pick: San Diego Padres (-104)

Houston Astros @ Oakland Athletics – 4:07PM ET

The Houston Astros and Oakland Athletics will be playing the game one of their three-game weekday series this one. This is the first time these two American League West divisional rivals have met this season. They are both having entirely different types of seasons up until this point.

Tony Battalio

The Houston Astros were a bit shocked by the Seattle Mariners over the weekend. It took a win in this series finale to avoid being swept by the Mariners in their three-game weekend series. Now they will look to turn the bad start to their nine-game road trip around with a stop in the Bay Area to play the Oakland Athletics. The Astros come into this game with a record of 30-18 through their first 48 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are currently in first place in the American League West as well as they hold a slim lead over the Los Angeles Angels.

The Oakland Athletics are struggling this season, to say the least. Not only are they struggling on the field, but off the field as well as they are last in attendance in Major League Baseball and it is likely to remain that way for the rest of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They come into this game with a record of 20-30 through their first 50 games of the season and they are fresh off of a series loss to the Texas Rangers. As for the result of this game, I am going with the Houston Astros to pick up the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-180)

Jeffery Thomas

The Houston Astros came up with a close 2-1 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Sunday to avoid being swept by their division rivals. They’ll now travel to California to take on another divisional opponent on Monday, the Oakland Athletics. The A’s also avoided being swept by getting a win on Sunday, 6-5 over the Texas Rangers. This is the first meeting this season between the Astros and Athletics and I think it will be a great battle between these starting pitchers.

Framber Valdez is 4-2 on the year with a 2.83 ERA and Paul Blackburn of Oakland is 5-0 with a 1.70 ERA. Blackburn is the better pitcher but that is the only advantage Oakland holds and it’s not even that great of an edge in their favor. That’s why I feel Houston will be able to string together enough runs throughout the game to pull this one out on the road and build on their 30-18 record.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-180)

Marko Nadin

The Oakland Athletics are at the bottom of the AL West with a 20-30 record. They are coming off a 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers which was their first one after losing the previous 3 games of the series against them. Oakland is 28th in the league scoring 3.53 runs per game and is ranked 16th in the league allowing 4.35 runs per game. The Athletics will start Paul Blackburn tonight who is 1-0 for the season with a 1.90 ERA. Oakland has lost 7 of the last 10 games played on Monday and 24 of the last 33 home games.

The Houston Astros are on top of the AL West with a 30-18 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games but are coming off a 2-1 series loss against the Seattle Mariners scoring a total of 3 runs in those 3 games. The Astros are 21st in the league scoring 411 runs per game and are ranked third in the league allowing 3.32 runs per game. Houston will start Frambler Valdez tonight who is 4-2 for the season with a 2.87 ERA. Houston has won 20 of the last 27 games as favorites.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Houston Astros (-180)

Kansas City Royals @ Cleveland Guardians – 6:10 PM ET

The Kansas City Royals and Cleveland Guardians will be playing the first game of a three-game series in this one. This will be the second time they’ve met this season after playing a four-game series to open up the year.

Tony Battalio

The Kansas City Royals are coming into this one with a record of 16-30 through their first 46 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They will be looking to gain some momentum against the Cleveland Guardians after splitting a four-game series with them when they met to open up the new season. They are also coming off of a four-game series split with the American League Central division-leading Minnesota Twins.

The Cleveland Guardians are in serious need of some momentum after they lost a rain-shortened four-game series with the Detroit Tigers over the weekend. Now they come into this game with a record of 19-24 through their first 43 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season as they have been hanging right around the .500 mark throughout the first quarter of the season. As for the result of this one I am going with the Cleveland Guardians to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (-162)

Jeffery Thomas

The Kansas City Royals will continue their 9-nine road trip on Monday when they travel up to Cleveland for a contest with the Guardians. These two teams haven’t met since the opening series of the year, in which they split two games apiece.

The Guardians scored double the runs of the Royals in that series (28-14) and have since been the better team of the year. Neither team is great though and I don’t see much value in picking a side here. Instead, I like the over of 9 because of the lack of shutdown pitching in this matchup. Also in their earlier series this year, those games averaged over 10 runs a contest so we should be able to get to this number comfortably.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Over Total Runs (-120)

Marko Nadin

The Cleveland Guardians are third in the AL Central with a 19-24 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 1-2 loss in the series against the Detroit Tigers. The Guardians are 11th in the league scoring 4.60 runs per game and are ranked 17th in the league allowing 4.36 runs per game. Cleveland will start Zach Plesac tonight who is 1-4 for the season with a 5.40 ERA. Cleveland has won 4 of the last 5 games played on Monday and 39 of the last 56 games as a home favorite.

The Kansas City Royals are at the bottom of the AL Central with a 16-30 record. They have lost 8 of the last 10 games and are coming off a 2-2 series against the Minnesota Twins. Kansas City is 25th in the league scoring 3.92 runs per game and 28th in the league allowing 5.35 runs per game. The Royals will start Jonathan Heasley tonight who is 0-2 for the season with a 4.73 ERA. Kansas City has lost 17 of the last 25 games when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (-162)

Tampa Bay Rays @ Texas Rangers – 8:05PM ET

The Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers will be playing the first game of their four-game weekend series in this one. This will be the first of two series they will play this season. The Rays are coming off of a series with the New York Yankees, while the Rangers are fresh off playing the Oakland Athletics.

Tony Battalio

The Tampa Bay Rays are coming into this game with a record of 28-19 through their first 47 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They are coming off of a six-game homestand and a four-game series split with the New York Yankees and a two-game sweep over the Miami Marlins. The Rays are off to a fast start this season as they are currently in second place in the American League East division.

The Texas Rangers had a rough start to the 2022 Major League Baseball season but they are slowly pulling themselves back towards the .500 mark. They come into this game with a record of 22-24 through their first 46 games of the season. They currently sit in third place in the American League West division. As for the result of game one of this series I am going with the Tampa Bay Rays to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-134)

Jeffery Thomas

The Tampa Bay Rays have now won two straight and come into this series with the Texas Rangers with the fourth-highest win total in the American League. Texas on the other hand is just trying to claw their way back up to .500 with the record of 22-24. Their last five games are a good start, as the Rangers have gone 4-1 against the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels.

The Rays are a whole different test though, as a rock-solid roster that will have good pitching every night. With the Ranger’s tendency to go cold on offense, it’s hard to trust them in this spot but I do think they will be competitive in the series. It won’t be a sweep but the Rays should come out and get this win on Monday behind a strong performance from Drew Rasmussen who is 5-1 on the year.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-134)

Marko Nadin

The Texas Rangers are third in the AL West with a 22-24 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 3-1 series win over the Oakland Athletics. The Rangers are 14th in the league scoring 4.41 runs per game and allowing 4.28 runs per game. The Rangers will start Glenn Otto who is 2-2 for the season with a 4.91 ERA. Texas has won the last 5 games as a home underdog and 5 of the last 6 games against a right-handed pitcher.

The Tampa Bay Rays are second in the AL East with a 28-19 record. They have won 4 of the last 6 games and are coming off back-to-back wins of a 2-2 series against the New York Yankees. The Rays are 17th in the league scoring 4.21 runs per game and are 8th in the league allowing 3.91 runs per game. Tampa Bay will start Drew Rasmussen tonight who is 5-1 for the season with a 2.61 ERA. The Rays have won 4 of the last 5 games against a right-handed starter and 9 of the last 12 games against an AL West opponent.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Tampa Bay Rays (-134)
