Texas Rangers @ Baltimore Orioles – 1:03PM ET

The Texas Rangers will be looking to deliver a quality performance in the opening game of this series against the Baltimore Orioles on Saturday afternoon on the road. As they will be looking to capitalize off of momentum from their two game wildcard series sweep of the Toronto Blue Jays that got them to this point in the postseason. Texas is riding a hot hand at the moment after Baltimore has had the previous week off and they will be looking to take advantage of that in this game on Saturday afternoon as the Rangers look to upset the Orioles on the road and get the upper hand in this series. 

The Baltimore Orioles will be looking to pick up where they left off the regular season and that is with a victory over the Texas Rangers in the opening game of this series on Saturday afternoon at home. Baltimore had the best record in the American League this season and they did it with a combination of timely hitting and clutch starting pitching throughout the regular season. They will be looking to keep the momentum rolling in Game number one of this series as they will look to grab a victory over the Texas Rangers and take a one to nothing lead before heading into next week. That is exactly what I expect as I look for Baltimore to grab the victory in this game.

Minnesota Twins @ Houston Astros – 4:45PM ET

Minnesota won a playoff series for the first time in nearly 2 decades earlier this week, and now they will be looking to open up this series with a victory over the defending World Series champions here on Saturday afternoon on the road in Houston. Royce Lewis carried Minnesota throughout their game one victory against Toronto and it was a team effort in game two that got the job done for Minnesota to officially sweep the Blue Jays. They will be looking to replicate those performances in the game of this series on Saturday afternoon, as they look to win their first game of the ALDS here against the Houston Astros.

The defending World Series champions will start their journey towards defending their title here on Saturday afternoon at home against the American League Central division champions. Houston has been nearly unbeatable in the playoffs throughout the last several seasons, and they will be looking to get back to that form here in the opening game of this series at home as they look to take an early lead over Minnesota. Despite a slow start to the season, Houston picked it up in the middle of the summer and towards the end of the season to win the American League West division, and I look for that momentum to carry over and for the Astros to grab a victory here in game one on Saturday afternoon at home

Philadelphia Phillies @ Atlanta Braves – 6:07PM ET

The Philadelphia Phillies looked solid in their wildcard series victory against the Miami Marlins, and they will be looking to carry that momentum over, as they look to knock the Atlanta Braves out of the playoffs for the second consecutive season. Philadelphia comes into this postseason as the defending National League pennant winners, and they will be looking to replicate their performance from last year as they look to get this series off to a solid start in game one on Saturday night in Atlanta. They looked unstoppable in their opening playoff series against Miami, and they will be hoping that the momentum carries over against the Atlanta Braves team that they beat after Atlanta got a week off last season and this is a similar scenario, so they will be hoping the outcomes become the same as well.

The Atlanta Braves will be looking to overcome their early elimination from last season and advance in the playoffs with a series victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, and it starts with a victory here in game one on Saturday night at home. Atlanta is facing the similar situation as last season after they were knocked out by Philadelphia after having the opening week of the playoffs off after finishing as the best team in the National League. They will be looking to avoid the same scenario with a victory in the opening of this series, as they look to get the series off on the right foot here on Saturday night. That is exactly what I expect as I look for the Atlanta Braves to pick up the victory in this game.

Arizona Diamondbacks @ Los Angeles Dodgers – 9:20PM ET

The Arizona Diamondbacks made quick work of the National League Central division champions in their wildcard series victory over the Milwaukee Brewers earlier this week. They will be looking to get this series off on the right foot when they head to Los Angeles to play their National League West division rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers in the second round of the postseason. Arizona is certainly a team that is capable of getting the job done and making a deep run in the playoffs as long as they remain healthy and consistent throughout the postseason. They will not be able to go on roller coaster type streaks like they did throughout the regular season if they want to grab a series victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers have been a model of consistency for teams in the National League throughout the last half decade or so. They will be looking to continue being that model of consistency with another quality performance throughout this series against the Arizona Diamondbacks and it starts with game one of the series here on Saturday night at home. Los Angeles will be hoping that their layoff won’t affect them after sitting home all of this week, and they will be hoping they can get an early upper hand on the Arizona Diamondbacks here on Saturday night. Regardless of the result of this game, I expect it to be a low scoring matchup that goes under its total runs allowed.
