Boston Red Sox @ Toronto Blue Jays – 7:07PM ET

The Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays will be playing the first game of their three game series in this one. This is the third time these two American League East teams will meet this season. So far the Blue Jays have crushed the Red Sox as they hold a five wins to two advantage.

Tony Battalio

The Boston Red Sox are fresh off of a three game sweep against the red hot Cleveland Guardians and now they will be looking to carry that momentum into this series with the Blue Jays. They come into this game with a record of 42-31 through their first 73 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. The Red Sox are heating up but it will take a lot to catch the New York Yankees at this point in the year. Boston has won eight of their last ten games on the year and are currently on a seven game winning streak.

The Toronto Blue Jays come into this game with a record of 40-32 through their first 72 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won only three out of their last ten games on the year and currently find themselves on a two game losing streak. They are coming off of a series loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. It is their third straight series loss as they will be looking to rebound throughout this week. As for the result of this game I am going with the Toronto Blue Jays to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-188)

Jeffery Thomas

The Toronto Blue Jays will be heading back home after a couple rough series on the road against the Chicago White Sox and Milwaukee Brewers. The Jays were only able to get one game in each series, going 2-4 overall on the road trip and falling to third place in the AL East. The team that overtook them for second place in the division is the Boston Red Sox who just so happens to be their opponent for this upcoming series that will be starting up on Monday.

It has been smooth sailing for the Sox recently, winning seven straight games including sweeps of the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians.  The pitching has been stellar during this stretch, only giving up an average of 2.85 runs per game. That isn’t expected to continue on Monday with rookie Connor Seabold taking the mound and it’s reflected in the odds for this game. The Blue Jays are the heavy favorites at home and should be able to get out of this rut against an inexperienced pitcher.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-188)

Marko Nadin

The Toronto Blue Jays are fourth in the AL East with a 40-32 record. They have lost 4 of the last 6 games and are coming off a 2-1 series loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. The Blue Jays are 6th in the league scoring 4.77 runs per game and are ranked 19th with 4.45 allowed runs per game. Toronto will start Kevin Gausman tonight who is 5-6 for the season with a 3.19 ERA. The Blue Jays have won 38 of the last 55 games when their opponent scores 5 runs or more in their previous game and 9 of the last 13 Monday games.

The Boston Red Sox are second in the AL East with a 42-31 record. They have won the last 7 games and are coming off a 3-0 series win over the Cleveland Guardians. The Red Sox are 5th in the league scoring 4.84 runs per game and are ranked 6th in the league allowing 3.94 runs per game. Boston will start Connor Seabold who will make his season debut tonight. The Red Sox have won the last 4 games against teams with a winning record and 12 of the last 14 games when their opponent allowed 5 runs or more in their previous game.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Toronto Blue Jays (-188)

Minnesota Twins @ Cleveland Guardians – 7:10PM ET

The Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Guardians will be playing the first game of their five game series in this one. This is the third time these two American League Central teams will meet this season. Both teams have won three games each and are in a close race in the division as well for the top spot.

Tony Battalio

The Minnesota Twins will look to use this five game series this week not only to give the Cleveland Guardians some payback after their series loss last week, but to also regain their lead in the American League Central division as well. The Twins are coming into this huge series with a record of 41-33 through their first 74 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Minnesota has won five out of their last ten games on the year and are currently on a two game winning streak as well.

The Cleveland Guardians had one seven straight series up until they met the Boston Red Sox this weekend. Now they will be looking to bounce back after getting swept by Boston in some not so competitive games. The Guardians are still in a great position to win the division as they find themselves only a couple of games back with 3 1/2 months left in the season. This series against the Minnesota Twins is going to be huge and as for the result of game one I am going with Cleveland to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (+108)

Jeffery Thomas

The Cleveland Guardians earlier this week took over sole possession of first place in the AL Central by taking two of three from the Minnesota Twins and it appeared to be the tide turning on their season. However, they gave that lead right back by getting swept out at home by the Boston Red Sox over the weekend while the Twins took two of three from the Colorado Rockies. Now the Guardians will have to replicate their performance against their division rivals once again, this time at home and in a five-game series.

The pitching matchup for this game is Sonny Gray vs Triston McKenzie which is a rematch of the June 22 meeting that saw 21 runs get scored. The Guardians won that game by getting to Gray early and picking on the Twins’ bullpen but I’m expecting a different result this time around. Minnesota has a power lineup and that is something McKenzie has struggled mightily against in his young career. He can’t seem to keep the ball in the stadium against heavy hitters and I like the Twins to get to him again and win this game.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Minnesota Twins (-126)

Marko Nadin

The Cleveland Guardians are second in the AL Central with a 36-32 record. They have lost the last four games and are coming off a 0-3 series loss to the Boston Red Sox. Cleveland is 11th in the league scoring 4.59 runs per game and is ranked 13th in the league allowing 4.20 runs per game. The Guardians will start Triston McKenzie tonight who is 4-5 for the season with a 3.51 ERA. Cleveland has won 7 of the last 8 opening games of a series and have lost 4 of the last 5 home games.

The Minnesota Twins are on top of the AL Central with a 41-33 record. They have won 3 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Colorado Rockies. The Twins are 15th in the league scoring 4.51 runs per game and are ranked 9th allowing 4.07 runs per game. Minnesota will start Sonny Gray tonight who is 3-1 for the season with a 2.53 ERA. The Twins have won 6 of the last 7 games played on Monday and 4 of the last 5 road games against teams with a winning record.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Cleveland Guardians (+108)

Los Angeles Dodgers @ Colorado Rockies – 8:40PM ET

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Colorado Rockies will be playing the first game of their three game series in this one. This is the second time these two National League West teams will meet this season. The Colorado Rockies won the previous series between the two to open up the season.

Tony Battalio

The Los Angeles Dodgers are one of the better teams in Major League Baseball so far this season and are currently in the middle of a 5-1 road trip, with three games remaining in Colorado. They have two legit Cy Young contenders in Tyler Anderson and Tony Gonsolin. It’ll be Anderson who takes the mound in this one with a record of 8-0 and a 3.00 Earned Run Average. The Dodgers come into this game with a record of 45-26 through their first 71 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season.

The Colorado Rockies find themselves in last place of the National League West. They come into this game with a record of 31-42 through their first 73 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. Kuhl takes the mound for them in this one with a record of 4-5 on the year and a 3.95 Earned Run Average. They have won four out of their last ten games on the year and are currently on a two game losing streak. As for the result of this game I am going with the Los Angeles Dodgers to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-205)

Jeffery Thomas

The Los Angeles Dodgers are now traveling to Colorado for the final three games of their 9-game road stint. So far LA is 5-1 on this road trip with a sweep of the Cincinnati Reds followed by taking two of three from the Atlanta Braves. Sunday’s game took some late heroics from the Dodgers to pull it off but they did just that, coming back from being down 2-0 in the top of the 9th to tie it and send the game to extras. From there they went on to win the game 5-3 and push their division lead out to 1.5 games.

The Rockies are in last place in the division and will be happy to be back at Coors Field after losing 5 of 6 away from home. This isn’t a favorable matchup for them though, and going against Tyler Anderson, who is 8-0 on the year with a 3.00 ERA, doesn’t provide any confidence in backing the underdogs in this one. The Dodgers will have no issues continuing their hot streak on the road in this one.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (-130)

Marko Nadin

The Colorado Rockies are at the bottom of the NL West with a 31-42 record. They have lost 5 of the last 6 games and are coming off a 1-2 series loss to the Minnesota Twins. Colorado is 13th in the league scoring 4.54 runs per game and is ranked 28th in the league allowing 5.52 runs per game. The Rockies will start Chad Kuhl tonight who is 4-5 for the season with a 3.95 ERA. Colorado has won the last 5 games against teams with a winning record over 60% and has lost 7 of the last 10 home games.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are second in the NL West with a 45-26 record. They have won 5 of the last 6 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Atlanta Braves. The Dodgers are ranked the best in the league scoring 5.17 runs per game and are second in the league allowing 3.30 runs per game. They will start Tyler Anderson tonight who is 8-0 for the season with a 3.00 ERA. The Dodgers have won the last 4 games when their opponent allows 5 runs or more in their previous game and 5 of the last 6 road games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-205)

Chicago White Sox @ Los Angeles Angels – 9:38PM ET

The Chicago White Sox and Los Angeles Angels ill be playing the first game of their three game series in this one. This is the second and final time these two teams will meet this season. In their previous meeting, the Angels and White Sox split a four game series.

Tony Battalio

The Chicago White Sox are coming into this game with a record of 34-37 through their first 71 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball. They have won four out of their last ten games of the year. They are currently on a one game winning streak. They have been a bit below average this season as they were expected to run away with the American League Central division. However, they currently find themselves in third place at the moment and five and a half games out for first place.

The Los Angeles Angels are having an up and down season as they’ve gone from a great start to a lengthy losing streak and back to normal. Now they’ve lost Anthony Rendon for the year it looks like. They come into this game with a record of 35-40 through their first 75 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They currently sit in third place of a relatively weak American League West as they find themselves eleven and a half games out of first place. As for the result of this game I am going with the Los Angeles Angels to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels (-132)

Jeffery Thomas

The Chicago White Sox will be heading out on the road for a West Coast trip following a rough weekend at home against the Baltimore Orioles. The Os were able to come in and steal three of four from the Sox, with Chicago’s only win coming on Sunday in the series finale. The Los Angeles Angels were in a similar boat over the weekend, only winning the series finale on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners to avoid the sweep.

It’s been a disappointing season for both of these teams who had playoff aspirations but now sit at third place in their respective divisions. Despite how bad the Angels have been, I’m still favoring them in this contest as the home team. The volume is getting louder in Chicago potentially firing Tony La Russa and I think that is what it’s going to take for these guys to get things back on track. Give me the Angels and Noah Syndergaard to get this win and to draw first blood in the series.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels (-132)

Marko Nadin

The Los Angeles Angels are third in the AL West with a 35-40 record. They have lost 4 of the last 6 games and are coming off a 1-2 series loss to the Seattle Mariners. The Angels are 20th in the league scoring 4.26 runs per game and 12th in the league allowing 4.17 runs per game. The Angels will start Noah Syndergaard tonight who is 4-6 for the season with a 3.86 ERA. The Angels have lost 5 of the last 7 games allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game and 6 of the last 8 games following a win.

The Chicago White Sox are third in the AL Central with a 34-37 record. They have lost 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 1-3 series loss to the Baltimore Orioles. The White Sox are 24th in the league scoring 4.13 runs per game and 24th in the league allowing 4.85 runs per game. Lucas Giolito will be the White Sox’ starting pitcher tonight who is 4-4 for the season with a 5.40 ERA. The White Sox have won the last 4 road games against teams with a losing record and 5 of the last 6 Monday games.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Los Angeles Angels (-132)

Baltimore Orioles @ Seattle Mariners – 10:10PM ET

The Baltimore Orioles and Seattle Mariners will be playing the first game of their three game series in this one. This is the second and final time they will meet this season. The last time they met it was the Seattle Mariners that won the series two games to one.

Tony Battalio

The Baltimore Orioles are coming off of a decent series victory over the Chicago White Sox. They now come into this game with a record of 34-40 through their first 74 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won seven out of their last ten games on the year but currently find themselves on a one game losing streak. Baltimore is still nineteen and a half games out of first place in the American League East division as they are in last at the moment.

The Seattle Mariners are coming into this game with a record of 34-40 through their first 74 games of the 2022 Major League Baseball season. They have won six out of their ten games on the year and are currently on a one game losing streak after a successful weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels where they took all but one game. They have had an up and down season but are young and have plenty room to grow. As for the result of this game I am going with the Seattle Mariners to get the win.

Tony’s MLB Pick: Seattle Mariners (-162)

Jeffery Thomas

The Baltimore Orioles have been showing flashes of their bright future in this recent stretch of games where they have won four of their last five. That includes taking three of four on the road in Chicago over a very talented Chicago White Sox team. Their focus will now shift over to the Seattle Mariners who won their weekend series over the Los Angeles Angels after sweeping the Oakland Athletics. These two teams will meet playing at their peak levels which sets us up for a potentially fun series of baseball.

Tyler Wells vs George Kirby is the pitching matchup for Monday night and that screams pitching duel. That is reflected in the total for the game which is set at 7.5 but I’m more focused on the Baltimore side in this one. Not a lot of runs will be scored in this game so the chances that Seattle runs away and wins by 2 or more are slim so a play on the run line for the underdog Os is not a bad look at all.

Jeffery’s MLB Pick: Baltimore Orioles +1.5 (-162)

Marko Nadin

The Seattle Mariners are fourth in the AL West with a 34-40 record. They have won 5 of the last 6 games and are coming off a 2-1 series win over the Los Angeles Angels. The Mariners are 26th in the league scoring 4.04 runs per game and 8th in the league allowing 4.05 runs per game. Seattle will start George Kirby tonight who is 2-2 for the season with a 3.12 ERA. Seattle has won 5 of the last 6 games against teams with a losing record and 7 of the last 10 opening games of a series.

The Baltimore Orioles are at the bottom of the AL East with a 34-40 record. They have won 4 of the last 5 games and are coming off a 3-1 series win over the Chicago White Sox. The Orioles are 21st in the league scoring 4.16 runs per game and are ranked 21st in the league allowing 4.50 runs per game. Baltimore will start Tyler Wells tonight who is 5-4 for the season with a 3.34 ERA. The Orioles have won 5 of the last 6 games against teams with a losing record and 13 of the last 16 games following a loss.

Marko’s MLB Pick: Baltimore Orioles (+136)
