The Los Angeles Dodgers (43-34) take one of the highest-scoring offenses in MLB on the road to face the Colorado Rockies (31-49) at Coors Field on Tuesday to open a three-game series.

The Dodgers are playing their first of six games on the road. They won two out of three in their last series against the Astros, dropping the finale 6-5 on Sunday at Dodger Stadium. Mookie Betts was 1 for 3 with a home run, two runs, and two RBIs.

The Rockies are in the midst of a nine-game homestand. They won two of three against the Angels in their last series, taking the finale 4-3 on Sunday at Coors Field. Ezequiel Tovar went 2 for 4 with a home run and two RBIs.


The Dodgers have won all two games this season between the NL West rivals, including a 5-2 victory in their most recent meeting on April 4 at Dodger Stadium.

Starter Julio Urias threw six scoreless innings – striking out six – to get the win, and Evan Phillips pitched 0.2 scoreless innings to earn his first save of the season.


Clayton Kershaw (9-4, 2.72 ERA) is slated to start for Los Angeles. The left-hander is tied for the NL lead in wins and is fourth in ERA and is tied for fifth in strikeouts (103). Kershaw threw seven scoreless innings in his last start, a 2-0 road win over the Angels on June 20.

He had 20 strikeouts and seven walks. For Colorado, RHP Connor Seabold (1-3, 5.88 ERA) gets the ball. He has made one prior appearance against the Dodgers this season, giving up four runs over three innings in a 13-4 road defeat on April 3.

He gave up five hits while striking out four in the no-decision. In his last start on June 17, Seabold took the loss on the road against the Braves. He threw three innings and gave up nine runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking one in the 10-2 defeat.


The Los Angeles offense is averaging 5.3 runs per game for the season, fourth best in MLB, with a slash line of .238/.325/.443. Four Dodgers hitters have an OPS of .800 or better, led by Freddie Freeman (.946).
