ON THE MOUND
Reid Detmers (0-3, 5.10 ERA) is slated for the start for Los Angeles. The southpaw allowed three runs over four innings in his last start, a 10-1 home defeat against the Rangers on May 6. He took the loss, giving up seven hits while striking out seven and walking two.
Detmers is making his first appearance against the Guardians this season. Over two starts against the Guardians in 2022, Detmers was 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA over 10 innings. He had seven strikeouts and three walks. Righty Cal Quantrill (2-2, 3.89 ERA) gets the start for Cleveland.
It’s his first appearance of the season against the Angels. Quantrill made two appearances against the Angels in 2022, both as the starter, striking out 10 and walking three over 13 innings (0-1, 2.77).
In his last start on Sunday, Quantrill got the win at home against the Twins. He threw seven scoreless innings and gave up one hit, striking out four and walking three in the 2-0 triumph.
