The Diamondbacks are in the midst of a 10-game homestand. They won two of three against the Nationals in their last series, dropping the finale 9-8 on Sunday at Chase Field. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went 2 for 3 with two home runs, four runs, and four RBIs. Ketel Marte added a triple, one run, and one RBI.


The Marlins have won two of three in the season series between the teams, although they suffered a 5-0 defeat in their last meeting on April 16 at loanDepot park. Starter Zac Gallen threw 6.2 scoreless innings – striking out seven – for the win.


Braxton Garrett (1-1, 5.81 ERA) is in line to start for Miami. The lefty allowed 11 runs over 4.1 innings in his last start, a 14-6 road defeat against the Braves on Wednesday.

He gave up two hits while striking out seven in the win.

In his last start on Tuesday, Gallen took a no-decision on the road against the Rangers. He threw five innings and gave up three runs on seven hits, striking out six, in the 6-4 loss. The righty ranks second in the NL in strikeouts (57) and tied for third in wins.
