Hot-hitting Ketel Marte will be looking to extend his 10-game hitting streak as the Arizona Diamondbacks (33-23) host the Colorado Rockies (24-33) at Chase Field on Thursday with the home team in position to sweep the four-game series.
The Diamondbacks lead the series 3-0 after winning 6-0 on Wednesday, their fifth head-to-head victory in six games this season. Tommy Henry threw seven scoreless innings – striking out seven – for the win.
Pavin Smith went 2 for 2 with a double, two runs, and one RBI, walking three times, in the win. Nolan Jones was 1 for 3 with a double for the Rockies.
ON THE MOUND
Chase Anderson (0-0, 1.31 ERA) is slated to take the mound for Colorado. The RHP allowed one run over five innings in his last start, a 10-7 home win over the Mets on Saturday. He yielded four hits while striking out four and walking one in the no-decision.
Righty Zach Davies (0-1, 5.79 ERA) gets the ball for Arizona. It’s his first appearance of the season against the Rockies. Davies made four appearances against the Rockies in 2022, all starts, striking out 15 and walking nine over 20 innings (0-0, 4.05).
