The No. 1 seed Alabama Crimson Tide (29-5, 19-2 SEC) face the No. 16 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders (24-10, 16-4 Southland) Thursday at Legacy Arena in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi defeated the Southeast Missouri State Redhawks 75-71 at University of Dayton Arena on Tuesday in the First Four, their fifth consecutive win.
Jalen Jackson was a top performer with 22 points and six rebounds. Alabama won their third in a row in impressive fashion in the Southeastern Conference Tourney Championship on Sunday at Bridgestone Arena, beating the Texas A&M Aggies 82-63. Brandon Miller had 23 points and 12 rebounds, carrying the team.
Trevian Tennyson and Isaac Mushila, averaging 15.6 and 14.4 points per game, respectively, are leading the Islanders in scoring this season. Mushila also has grabbed 9.7 rebounds per game.
