The No. 13 Miami (FL) Hurricanes (22-5, 13-4 ACC), one of the nation’s top scoring teams, are on the road to face the Virginia Tech Hokies (16-11, 6-10 ACC) on Tuesday.
Miami (FL) defeated the Wake Forest Demon Deacons 96-87 at Watsco Center on Saturday, their sixth consecutive win. Isaiah Wong was the scoring leader with 27 points. Nijel Pack chipped in with 24 points.
The Hurricanes rose to second in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Virginia Tech triumphed on Saturday at Cassell Coliseum, beating the Pittsburgh Panthers 79-72.
Grant Basile topped the scoresheet with 22 points. With 12 points and six rebounds, Sean Pedulla also produced a strong performance. The Hokies are 11th in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
The teams are meeting for the final time this season. Miami (FL) will be aiming for a season sweep against Virginia Tech after winning the only prior meeting 92-83 at Watsco Center on January 31. Norchad Omier led the Hurricanes with 21 points and eight rebounds. Hunter Cattoor had 20 points in the loss.
