The Clemson Tigers (21-8, 13-5 ACC) will try to break down one of the NCAA’s top scoring defenses when they are on the road to face the No. 13 Virginia Cavaliers (21-6, 13-5 ACC) on Tuesday. Clemson dismantled the North Carolina State Wolfpack 96-71 at PNC Arena on Saturday.
Brevin Galloway had a standout performance with 28 points. The Tigers are fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Virginia lost on Saturday at Dean E. Smith Center, falling to the North Carolina Tar Heels 71-63. Jayden Gardner had 19 points and 12 rebounds in defeat to lead the team.
The Cavaliers remain third in the Atlantic Coast Conference. This is the only meeting of the season between the teams. Clemson and Virginia split their matchups last season, each team winning one.
The Cavaliers took the last meeting 75-65 at Littlejohn Coliseum in January 2022. Gardner led the Cavaliers with 23 points. Hunter Tyson had 15 points and nine rebounds in defeat.
The Tigers have been led this season by Tyson and PJ Hall, who are averaging 15.6 and 14.8 points per game, respectively. Tyson also has grabbed 9.4 rebounds per game.
Meanwhile, Chase Hunter is dishing 4.0 assists per game.Armaan Franklin (12.4 ppg), Gardner (11.6), and Kihei Clark (11.5) have been the primary providers for the Cavaliers on offense. Gardner also has pulled down 5.4 rebounds per game, while Clark has doled out 5.7 assists per game.
